Shady Ashburnham Dog Breeder Sells Worm Infested Puppy That Dies, Tries Not To Refund The Money, Threatens Grieving Family If They Don’t Take Down Viral Facebook Post

This is a heartbreaking story as yet another family learned the hard way about buying dogs from breeders.

Whenever someone posts something like this it’s heartbreaking, but it inevitably leads to this:

Yea, we get it. You’re not supposed to buy from breeders. Unfortunately some people find out the hard way. In this case the woman’s 19 year old son wanted to get the family a dog, he used Google, he found her on a reputable website, and he paid her money for a cute dog. Now they know, so please, get off your high horse and get over yourself because the buyer and the dog are the victim here. Blaming people who buy from breeders like this is like blaming a rape victim for wearing a short skirt and drinking too much.

This breeder has a long and documented past. Click here and here to see all the complaints made against Patricia Beatrice. Here’s a small sampling.

Beware of this breeder ..Bought a puppy from pat at alluwee labradors and it has been diagnosed with severe bilateral hip dysplasia at 7 months old. Ofa chief of veterinary services confirmed the diagnosis and when he looked into her ofa certifications was unable to verify the certifications she claimed. Any reputable breeder would have immediately refunded the money as this is genetic. She had no concern or compassion. Simply stated she didn’t have to do anything. Horrible person let alone breeder. Do not buy anything from this person, she is dishonest and breeding poor quality dogs and selling at top dollar to unsuspecting families. Nothing but misery will come from dealing with this woman.

Until today she still had a link up on Puppyfind.com, advertising a litter of labrador puppies.

We spoke with Bronnie, the dog’s owners, and this is what she told us:

My son found the ad for the dog when he did a internet search for lab breeders in MA. He is 19 and drove out to her house with no ID… nothing. When he got there she wouldn’t let them in the house. He had to wait outside and she brought the puppy out. To an adult that would have been red flags, but she targeted a group of teenagers. He brought the puppy home and that night it had large alive worms coming out of him. I contacted the breeder via text and she told us she decided to deworm it the morning he was picked up and it was totally normal.

The following day the worms were worse and the dog was lethargic. Again I contacted her and was told the worms wold stop and he was dehydrated. She said to get pedialyte, which I did. The dog seemed to perk up a little but now the poop turned into blood. The vet had him on an IV and medication. They kept him overnight as his levels were so low they were worried about a seizure.

A few day’s later it all started again really bad. He was vomiting his feces and had uncontrollable diarreah. We took him outside and 10 inches of his intestines came out of his body. The vet told us it was neglect and we need to go after the breeder. The poor puppy didn’t have a chance. The surgery would have been 15k and she said he would be on a feeding tube the rest of his life and would always have terrible diarrhea. She said it would be a cruel life for a puppy she recommended we do NOT do the surgery.

The breeder accused me and she wanted an autopsy done. After we argued she agrees to mail me the cost of the dog back… and she did. But she said the vet bills were on us and it was our choice to take him to the vet. In fairness to her she offered to take the dog back but she made it clear it would be her choice to go to a vet and we tried to give him the best chance he had. We tired everything in our power. We also dewormed him but his whole body was filled and he didn’t have a chance. Even when his intestines came out, the blanket we wrapped him in had worms and worm eggs in it. The poor dog.

I have been contacted by several people that have had bad experiences with her and I am sick over it. She wants the post removed and told me I am violating the contract that states I am not allowed to speak verbally about her or on the internet. So I am expecting to hear from hee since this post has gone viral. However, I did not sign the contract.

She brought receipts, and it all checked out.

As mentioned above, Patricia’s daughter Brittanie posted a picture of the check they wrote on Facebook (wicked professional), which had Bronnie’s address on it. Bronnie asked them to take it down, but Brittanie told her that Bronnie wasn’t allowed to post negative things about buying a dog from this shady breeder which died shortly after purchasing it.

Bullshit. I’m no Attorney Richard N. Vulva, but I’m pretty sure a contract from a seller that says a buyer can’t share their opinions about the purchase of the product, isn’t a valid contract. If it was then every business in the world would have that provision. This is how you know these people are shady as fuck.

Patricia also left a voicemail asking Bronnie to take down the Facebook post.

Here’s the texts between the son and Patricia, showing that the dog had medical issues the same day he bought him.

I’ve seen videos and pictures of their dog. It’s clearly not the same healthy looking dog she sent them in that text message. I saw videos of the dog with worms and blood coming out of its glory hole. He was much skinner than the dog in the picture too. This dog was infested with worms, and for the breeder’s response to be “pick up some dewormer at Petco” is unacceptable.

At first Patricia did indeed try to avoid giving them a refund for the dog, and instead wanted to give them a replacement puppy.

A replacement puppy from the shady breeder who just gave them a dog infested with worms. Sign me up.

Eventually she agreed to refund them the money, but refused to cover any of the vet bills.

At one point Patricia suggested it was Bronnie’s fault.

“I can’t control what you do with your puppy.”

You told them to go to Petco to fix the dying the dog you sold them. They went to the vet which told them that this was YOUR fault. Take some Goddamn responsibility you vapid twat!!

Anyway, I don’t have many pictures of Patricia or Brittanie, although we did find this on Instagram.

I would like to set some of the people straight commenting on this blog.

I work in a legitimate Humane Society Animal Shelter. Before dogs are cleared for adoption they have full medical exams, are neutered, and have all their shots. Dogs with bite histories are put on a bite hold for 30 to 90 days, usually in a supportive foster home environment, to make sure that they are OK to be adopted. We do thorough behavioral screening (Animatch) to help ensure that the animals are placed in appropriate homes where they and the humans will have a great experience.

The dogs are not “flea-ridden” or unhealthy. Anyone who says that is ignorant at best. At worst you are hurting orphan dogs who are looking for homes.

    Smarten up.

If you want to buy a purebred dog, call AKC, and find the local AKC breed club in your area. Call one of the club officers, and ask them for a reference for a reliable, trustworthy breeder.

They’ll give you three or four names, and you can then call them, talk to them, and ask for references.

Also, when you call the three or four, ask them for breeder references. Usually, the same names will keep coming up.

You have to do your homework to avoid unscrupulous operators.

Honestly, if you are the type of cunt to beat people over the head about pet adoption you better not have any kids of your own. There are PLENTY of children who need homes more than a fucking pet.

Another fool that didn’t do proper research on finding a legitimate breeder. Idiots like this keep backyard breeders in business. It’s so easy to avoid these situations if you actually dig into the background of a breeder, check references, and confirm that they’re registered with a nationally recognized health testing association. Shame on this backyard breeder but people need to do some legwork!

Nothing wrong with buying from a real breeder. No one wants any mangy ass mutts from some flea infested rescue shelter.

    • Shelter dogs are there for a reason
      September 25, 2019 at 7:07 am

Because NOBODY brings a dog to a shelter and says the dog bit everyone in the house, or cannot be housebroken, etc.

I tried this ONCE . I was assured the dog was friendly and house trained. I was attached quickly to him, until one day he randomly attacked a child. When I brought it back (crying) the shelter staff actually said “we were afraid of that” WTF!! They put the dog down that day!

Sorry but I will NEVER gamble with my family’s safety again. And F them for lying to me.

Let me guess, was the kind of dog you “rescued” a Pit Bull or Pit Bull mix?

No. It was a small terrier/beagle mutt. I don’t have an opinion on pit bulls, but I know I don’t want an increase in my homeowners policy.

There is no need to buy a dog from a breeder. Ever. If you want a “purebred”, then kindly fuck yourself. Buying from a breeder kills dogs and also enables a fat, soggy pig like Patricia Beatrice to earn a living, sitting on her ass running a puppy mill. You don’t get a purebred dog unless you can squeeze it from your own vagina.

I wanted a smart, articulate daughter with golden blonde hair and a pleasant disposition. And I ended up with a fat, retarded gremlin for a son with a rash on his forehead and the inability to take a piss without hitting the shower curtain. Just be happy with what you have.

Judging from the idiocy of your statement, you were never going to conceive a smart, articulate human being. Dumbasses like you should never breed; you only contaminate the gene pool.

Kindly wrap your lips around my shaft. You are a complete fucking dolt and deserve to stub your toe on a bed frame every day for the rest of your aggressively mediocre life.

    • It's not what it's cracked up to be
      September 25, 2019 at 8:22 am

I was a foster home for dogs in a local rescue. The very first dog we had was friendly with my children and I but did nip/bite a relative who walked in the door. We found out he had a history but “could be trained”. He then bit his new owner. The shelter actually wanted us to take him back and put him back up for adoption. I agree that shelters don’t always give you all the information you need in order to make an informed decision. It’s shady as hell adopting from a shelter/rescue.

This is very sad. Such a cute pup. So they bought this puppy only to watch it suffer and ultimately had to put him down because the bitch who sold him, is neglectful. I hate people.

There is nothing wrong with getting pets from reputable breeders. In this day and age of shithead breeders like this cunt, you need to do your homework. Check reviews, inspect the facility (reputable breeders welcome inspections by potential buyers), and get all information up front. Any, and I mean ANY, red flag should cause a potential buyer to walk away. Cunts like this are successful because buyers don’t do their homework and become overwhelmed with emotions when they see the puppies. Separate the emotions because at the end of the day, it is a business transaction. If people were more vigilant and thorough when purchasing pets from breeders, shit heels like this cunt will be forced to find another scam.
There is no shortage of reputable and honest breeders who take pride in their litters. In fact, these types of breeders make sure that YOU are worthy of their animals. This is how people get dogs, cats, etc with genetic traits they desire. I also advocate for people to rescue pets from shelters as those pets need homes as well. The problem with that, for some people anyway, is that the shelters may not have a specific breed they desire/need and they may have undesirable traits. For those that don’t have requirements, a shelter is a great choice. The point is, either source is good to use, but to denigrate the whole network of breeders based on the few shitheads out there is wrong.

Dogs were security in 1970s. Now you’re better off with a beehive.

  • Do your research before buying a dog
    September 24, 2019 at 4:18 pm

Dont buy a dog from a breeder? Htf are you supposed to buy a specific breed of puppy at your local animal shelter? GL finding a pure bred black lab puppy at a shelter or most any other breed. The advice is buy a dog from a reputable breeder and do your due diligence. Many breeders are good and compassionate people who love their dogs. These scumbags running puppy mills are not reputable breeders.
