Just when I thought the Ferguson protests couldn’t get any dumber the St. Louis Rams kicked it up a notch. Five players – Tavon Austin, Jared Cook, Kenny Britt, Stedman Bailey, and Chris Givens came out with their hands up to protest what they perceive to be a lack of justice in the shooting death of Michael Brown by former police officer Darren Wilson in Ferguson, Missouri.

Remember when people thought Michael Sam was gonna be the biggest distraction on the Rams this year?

Hmmmm, lets’ see. If I were to start an anti-police protest, I would probably NOT have Kenny Britt (81) take part in it. You know, because he’s been arrested like, a million times. Remember when Kenny was suspended for an entire season in 2012 because he couldn’t stop getting arrested? I do. Sure, some of his crimes were pretty white collar, like when he was arrested for a DUI on an army base. Or when he went to court over a bar fight he was allegedly involved in in Nasvhille? Yea, I forgot about that one. And who hasn’t been arrested for leading police on a high speed chase? White people NEVER get arrested when they lead people on high speed chases.

Oh yea, and if you’re gonna do a protest, at least have some guys out there that people have heard of before. Oh wait, it’s the St. Louis Rams. Never mind. Kenny Britt I have heard of, mainly because he’s a wicked talented receiver who can’t stop getting arrested. Tavon Austin I know because he’s the most unreliable player in fantasy football and can’t stop getting hurt. But who the hell is Stedman Bailey? Apparently someone who was arrested for stealing over the counter cough medicine a couple years ago.

The fantastic five here evidently pissed off the St. Louis Police with their dooshnozzelry, so much so that their union issued this statement:

“The SLPOA is calling for the players involved to be disciplined and for the Rams and the NFL to deliver a very public apology. Roorda said he planned to speak to the NFL and the Rams to voice his organization’s displeasure tomorrow. He also plans to reach out to other police organizations in St. Louis and around the country to enlist their input on what the appropriate response from law enforcement should be. Roorda warned, “I know that there are those that will say that these players are simply exercising their First Amendment rights. Well I’ve got news for people who think that way, cops have first amendment rights too, and we plan to exercise ours. I’d remind the NFL and their players that it is not the violent thugs burning down buildings that buy their advertiser’s products. It’s cops and the good people of St. Louis and other NFL towns that do. Somebody needs to throw a flag on this play. If it’s not the NFL and the Rams, then it’ll be cops and their supporters.”

My thoughts on this are pretty simple. The St. Louis Rams are a privately owned team and a member of the National Football League. If the Rams and the NFL don’t want these geniuses doing this then every right to tell them to cut the shit. If they don’t give care then that’s their prerogative as well.

The fact of the matter is this – what these players did amounts to a political protest. The Rams have every right not be associated with any particular political viewpoint. Just because you feel strongly about an issue doesn’t mean you get to express that viewpoint for the world to see while you’re in uniform. Do you see firefighters holding signs outside of abortion clinics in full uniform? When you go into a McDonalds do you see their employees holding signs about immigration reform? Nope. Because they’re being paid to do a specific task. You wanna protest? Congratulations. Do it on your own time.

And please, for the love of God, stop talking about free speech. Newsflash – the fantastic five here are paid employees of the Rams and the NFL. If the Rams don’t want to be publicly represented by five knuckleheads doing a meaningless political protest while they’re on the clock, then they have every right to tell them to cut the shit. You want free speech? Cool.  No problem. Call up Al Sharpton and see if he’s got a paid internship for ya. You have a right to free speech, but you don’t have a right to play for the St. Louis Rams.

As for what the police union in St. Louis did, they’re gonna get some shit for it, but good for them. Cops, firefighters, teachers, and all other types of employees are held responsible for shit they say on social media or in public. Free speech has essentially been destroyed by political correctness and whining naniburgers. It’s refreshing to see a public employee who’s not afraid to tell these jagoffs to go get out his face with that jive.

Oh yea, and everything he’s saying to the NFL is right. You know who buys NFL apparel, game tickets, and advertiser’s products? Football fans. People who just wanna go about their lives and not give a shit about Ferguson. And believe it or not, you DO have the right to not give a shit, despite what the hippies in the middle of the road seem to think. You know who’s NOT buying NFL apparel, game tickets, and advertiser’s products? The nudniks who are burning/looting businesses, and the hipster doofuses that are marching through and blocking traffic on the taxpayer funded streets while screaming meaningless nonsense that happens to rhyme.

The bottom line is that the cop who wrote this manifest is 100% in the right. The vast, vast silent majority of the American public supports and trusts the police. We’re tired of being called racist because we do so. We’re tired of being told that we have to think one way. We’re tired of our streets being taken over by unemployed hipsters who think we simply MUST hear their message. We’re tired of people calling Turtleboy Sports “racist” merely because we print the truth about Ferguson protesters. On Sunday we just wanna sit down, watch some football, and not be subjected to political protests for a couple of hours.

As for punishment, I think a stern talking to coupled with the fact that they have to play for the St. Louis Rams is punishment enough.

Feel free to share your thoughts to keep the conversation going.

“The vast, vast silent majority of the American public supports and trusts the police.”

Nothing like some right-wing pseudo-populism to start off the week!

Sounds like an empty threat on the part of the cops. Are they really going to take the time to ship stuff via UPS instead of FedEx and cancel their Visa cards and trade in their Blazers for F150s?

Good for them. Glad they did it and they have every right. F off.
