In January of 2013 legendary former Governor of Massachusetts Deval Patrick signed a brilliant law requiring teachers and anyone who works around children to get fingerprinted or get fired. Basically the rationale behind the law is this – everyone in America is a child molester and the burden is on you to prove that you’re not.

Do you like democracy? Because I think it’s pretty freaking cool. The thing about laws are that elected representatives are supposed to vote on them. The problem with HR 4307 is that it was never voted on. And because no one has any idea how the Goddamn government works the State Legislature can basically do whatever they want by finding some obscure rule that no one knows about. The law was proposed by a committee full of assholes and signed by Governor Patrick.

This law is insanely idiotic for several reasons. First of all, teachers have to pay $55 to get fingerprinted, do it on their own free time, and pay for the costs of getting there. When you’re forced to do something by your employer while you’re not being paid for it you are no longer an employee – you are a slave working for free. Actually scratch that, you are PAYING for the right to work for free.

Secondly, non-teaching personnel who work in schools have to pay $35. What’s the rationale for making them pay less? The cost of fingerprinting is the same no matter who is being serviced. The rationale is they make less money, which makes this an income tax.

Thirdly, where did they get $55 from? Because quite frankly it sounds like they just pulled it out of their ass. It seems like JUST enough so that some dooshnozzle can get a nice pay day out of it, and not TOO much so that teachers revolt.

Fourthly, this is a blatant violation of a shitload of really, really good rights. You may not realize this, but this is not Communist Finland. This is America. You have a presumption of innocence in America. Criminals get fingerprinted. Innocent civilians do not. Oh yea, and the 4th Amendment prohibits unreasonable searches and seizures and requires any warrant to be judicially sanctioned and supported by probable cause. Where’s the probable cause to search EVERY SINGLE TEACHER in the state without a warrant?

Fifthly, if you ever hear anyone say, “If you don’t have anything to hide it shouldn’t be a problem” then punch them in the face. They deserve it because they clearly hate America and freedom.

Sixthly, the fact that some asshole molested a kid at a daycare one time isn’t probable cause to search innocent civilians.

Seventhly, and rather ironically, you can get fingerprinted for free if you were arrested.

Eighthly, this was all brought on by suburban soccer Moms who watch too much Law and Order SVU. Their fears are irrational. Just because you can’t control your idiotic, impulsive fears that everyone in America wants to molest your kid, doesn’t give you the right to infringe on the rights of everyone who thinks rationally. Contrary to popular belief, not everyone is a walking hand job.

tyrone-bigs-meme-generator-say-what-003017

Ninthly, your kid is a million times more likely to be molested by your creepy brother in law than he is by his math teacher. Let me know when you’re doing family fingerprints.

Tenthly, even if I conceded that this was OK to do, it’s INSANE that the state isn’t paying for it. You wanna enact a law (without voting on it) that takes away civil liberties from teachers? The least you assholes can do is pay for it. Oh yea, they wouldn’t do that because it would require a tax hike and then people would get pissed. It’s a lot easier to just take money out of teacher’s pay checks. Because…fuck teachers.

Eleventhly, teachers unions are weak and pathetic. They literally sat on their hands with their thumbs up their asses as the state took money out of their member’s pockets. Teachers pay money to have their contracts collectively bargained. Now the contract is being violated because of angry soccer Moms, and the teachers union decides NOW is a good time to shut the fuck up.

Twelfthly, the teachers union gave $2.75 million to Deval Patrick in the 2010 Gubernatorial election. The whole point of lobbying is so you DON’T get fucked over when your guy wins. You only get fucked over when the OTHER guy wins. The teachers have no one to blame but their stupid union for this. They paid for Patrick to become Governor, and then he made you pay to keep your job. That’s what happens when you give all your money to whoever has a D in front of their name and expect nothing in return.

Thirteenthly, the ACLU continues to be the most fraudulent organization that has ever existed. Apparently at the Educators Association of Worcester meeting the other day someone brought up the idea of contacting the ACLU about this. HAHAHHAHAHAHA!!! Good luck with that. If you’re not a criminal who got killed by a white cop after trying to take their gun away from them, then the ACLU has never, ever given a fuck about you. The quicker you realize that the better. As a matter of fact a teacher contacted us about this and sent us this conversation they had with Chris Robarge, the head of the Worcester Chapter of the ACLU:

Ya got that teachers? The ACLU doesn’t have the “manpower to do it.” They’re too busy. With what you may ask? Well, they’re busy suing for the rights of alcoholics and drug addicts to stand in traffic and beg for money. Because their rights to beg for money and create dangerous driving conditions are a million times more important that your 4th Amendment rights. Oh yea, and they kind of have their hands tied trying to prove that the Worcester Police are racist.

Fourteenthly, if you wanna become a teacher I think you’re insane, but God bless you anyway. You get paid didley, your job security is tied to a test score of kids who didn’t eat breakfast and may or may not be the primary bread earners in their homes, you get bullied by kids, you have no free speech rights, and now you have to pay to prove you’re not an interstate child molester. Sounds like fun.

Lastly, the contract to do the fingerprinting was given to MorphoTrust. Last year MorphoTrust grossed over $400 million in revenue. So people who are making $45,000 a year are paying out of their pocket to fund a company that makes half a billion dollars a year to violate their civil liberties. Their CEO Bob Eckel is a multimillionaire.

I spoke with a Worcester Public School teacher who has NOT done the fingerprinting yet. She like hundreds of other teachers, is only a couple of years away from retirement. The law says that all teachers have to be printed before September 1, 2016. So why should someone who is about to retire have to do this? Why should ANYONE have to do this?

Here’s my recommendation for teachers. Don’t do it. What would happen if the entire faculty at North or Doherty just said, “fuck you, we’re not doing it?” You think they’re gonna fire an entire faculty? Nope. But they’re counting on the fact that they KNOW you won’t do this. Do yourself a favor and grow a pair. Everyone is behind you on this one.

Late to the blog/website… but when every parent and nanny gives their prints to walk in the school door, I’ll happily give mine.

re: #7 LOL I should try that.
Thank you, I agree that this law, while meant to protect, I wrong in many ways.

The union people who reflexively vote D will never stop doing it, even if their district ward chairman is buggereing them against their will while they fill out a ballot. They are morons.

Why would paying $55 change their voluntarily self destructive behavior?

    Their overlords command, they perform

Wait a minute there, Communist Finland?

Ever heard of the Winter or Continuation Wars? We’ve killed our share of Commies, thank you very much!

Now on the blog topic; this is just robbery. If this were purely about the safety of children, it would be paid for by the State. And furthermore, if it was really about safety, the fingerprints already on record with the State for say FID cards would be applicable, but they are not.

good point there – this is a $$$ racket. There are firearms ID holders who teach and those fingerprints aren’t enough? Not when the company hired to squeeze another 55 bucks out of educators can rake it in. I’d like to know who knows who in the selection of this particular fingerprinting outfit. Guaranteed somebody higher up in pushing for the printing has a connection to the inkers. Nothing happens in a vacuum boys and girls. I say we eff with ’em and paint our fingertips with good ol Sally Hansen clear gel nail polish. Let them earn their $55 trying to peel it off.

That’s what a CORI check is. I don’t mind the fingerprint. But it should at least be paid for.

Every person working with children should have an in depth background check done on them- including fingerprinting. BTW you can get fingerprinted for free at any MSP barracks.

It’s ironic that this gets posted the day after I had to schedule for my stupid fingerprint. I was very pissed as well. Riding the turtle baby.

No crap, but there is still a chance that a kid toucher slips through the cracks and teaches your kids one day, but you wouldnt pay 55 dollars to prevent this… nice.

This isn’t really blog worthy. Many districts, including mine, pay for the fingerprinting. If you’re not a child molester, who cares? Wouldn’t you rather weed out any potential whack jobs?

You must hate safe environments for kids.

        • February 16, 2015 at 10:18 am

A kid is much more likely to be mileated by a relative than a teacher. Let me know when uncle randy is getting printed.

Actually though, its quite hilarious, the protests you tried to shit one will get so much more support than this. You’re right, people read your blog, but that is the extent. Nobody is gonna come out and support a cause led by an anonymous coward.
