Everyone knows by now that Carlo “Old Balls” Baldino is a senile, racist old man who wants to bait Turtleboy with his Telegram.com blogs. I don’t even read him because it’s a waste of time. You might as well go down to the YMCA locker room and listen to old naked men stand there all day and talk. That’s what an Old Balls blog sounds like – a conversation amongst a group of naked old guys at the YMCA.

But people are all fired up lately, and rightfully so, for the things he’s been writing about. I’m not even going to bother to point out how idiotic some of his ramblings are. Because getting into it with old senile people usually leads nowhere, as many Thanksgivings have shown us all.

Instead I’m going to stick to pointing out what a blatantly racist and offensive dooshnozzle this person is. And I’m not even upset with Old Balls. He is what he is – a delusional elderly man who makes you laugh because he’s so insane.

17389_1399323533723456_5528015545869905773_n

The real dooshnozzle here is Jim Normandin at the Telegram and Gazette who continues to allow this bigoted old man to publish hate speech blogs in his newspaper so that he can get cheap page views and attract more advertisers.

One term Old Balls has been referencing a lot when it comes to Turtle Riders is “rednecks”:

“The blog is extremely popular with Worcester’s color-blind rednecks who want to “take their city back.”

“My guess would be that releasing the Worcester film would skew the narrative of the city’s color-blind rednecks who insist the police are never wrong.”

“Worcester’s white redneck class has been making their usual extreme remarks coinciding with their usual extreme responses to a Black Lives Matter protest on Martin Luther King Day that blocked traffic in Kelly Square for four and one half minutes.”

Worcester’s white redneck class. The Telegram allowed an old man from Sutton to print a racially derogatory term about white people in Worcester. But it’s OK to call white people rednecks of course, right Jim Normandin? Imagine this were the other way around and an old white guy from Sutton was calling African-American people from Worcester racially insensitive names. I’m sure that would go over well.

It’s also laughable that Joyce McNickles keeps telling him to write these things about Turtleboy Sports readers at their luxury home in Sutton. A lot of you reading our blogs are doctors, judges, lawyers, cops, teachers, principals, healthcare workers, firefighters, and a bunch of other honorable professions. And Jim Normandin is publishing blogs that call you rednecks.

“Their goal is to elect anti-Boone candidates to the school committee and pro-police candidates to the city council who support police officers in schools and surveillance cameras in classrooms.”

See that right there? That’s Joyce McNickles shaking in her boots. You’re right Old Balls, our goal is to elect anti-Boone, pro-police candidates to the city council and school committee. And your trophy wife realizes this, which is why she’s freaking out and telling you to publish this garbage. Well guess what? In November, we’re going to show you just how powerful the Turtleboy Sports Revolution is. There will be at least two, if not three new members of the School Committee. Can’t wait to read your blog about how racist the entire city of rednecks is then.

kducr

Then there was the article he posted blaming the Boston Police officer, John Moynihan, who was shot in the face because he was racially profiling black people:

“Let’s break it down: shots were fired at an earlier point in time, so the cops came along and stopped the first vehicle they saw because it had Black men in it. This is what is known as racial profiling. This is what happens when you drive while Black. If they hadn’t stopped the car for no justifiable reason, the Black man would still be alive and the cop wouldn’t have been placed in a medically-induced coma.”

Ho-Lee Shit. The Telegram and Gazette is making money off of this hate speech. Jim Normandin allowed this old man to call a cop who got shot in the face, a racist. Jim Normandin allowed Old Balls to victimize Angelo West, an attempted cop killer. I’m not even going to get into how ridiculous everything he is saying, I’m just gonna point out that the Telegram allowed him to print it because they’re making money off of it.

“Worcester is far more racist than Mississippi.”

The Telegram and Gazette is profiting off of a man who just called Worcester residents more racist than the most racist state in American history.

“If the police were disarmed, they wouldn’t be shooting unarmed Black men and then using their dubious defense, “He reached for my gun.” In Ferguson, Missouri, Officer Darren Wilson would have had to confront Michael Brown one-on-one, with only his club and taser to aid him. That would have been a relatively fair fight, wouldn’t it? Or this disgraceful coward could have rolled up the windows of his police cruiser and locked the doors until backup arrived.”

Jim Normandin just allowed Old Balls to print hate speech in which he suggested that Darren Wilson and Michael Brown should be engaged in a “fair fight.” Because the Telegram and Gazette believes it’s OK to advocate for a society in which criminals are given a fair opportunity to kill police officers. The Telegram and Gazette is promoting speech that suggests that police officers who use their weapons in self-defense are “cowards.” He actually said that. Someone should pass this on to the Paxton Police Department to let them know that the Telegram and Gazette profits off of speech that suggests that Police Chief Robert Mortell deserved to die when he was shot by three burglars in 1994. After all, it was a “fair” fight because Mortell didn’t use his gun.

“If a bunch of old white folks holding signs with pictures of aborted fetuses blocked Kelly Square for four and one-half hours would there be the same reaction, the same demands for legal action? Not bloody likely. How can this be explained?”

Yes. There most definitely would be a huge backlash against abortion protesters if they blocked traffic in Kelley Square. And whether or not you agree that the grim reaper should have a right to embarrass his cause on Pleasant Street by protesting outside of Planned Parenthood, the fact of the matter is that those protesters aren’t breaking the law. If they stepped inside the buffer zone before the SCOTUS said that zone was unconstitutional, then they would be arrested and no one would feel bad for them.

Here’s what it looks like when you read an Old Balls blog:

Screen Shot 2015-04-19 at 1.45.01 PM Screen Shot 2015-04-19 at 1.45.21 PM

See on the right hand side? Those are ads from the Gymnastics Learning Center in Shrewsbury, and the Neil Rosenblaum Goldsmith Gallery on Park Ave. They pay the Telegram and Gazette money to appear on Old Balls blogs because they know people will click on them for the shock factor and see their ad. The hippies aren’t the only people who can boycott.

10408881_1398991260423350_6352405616249113903_n

If you want to then feel free to call those places up and tell them you don’t appreciate them financing a man who calls you a racist redneck. They probably don’t even realize it since businesses have been trained to throw their ad budget at the local newspaper. They have no idea what they’re promoting.

The Telegram peddles their smut effectively too. Check out their digital advertising pageThe first thing they do is brag to prospective advertisers about their audience size:

Screen Shot 2015-04-19 at 2.22.13 PM

1 million monthly visitors. That’s close to what we get and we started a blog from scratch last year. Cool story bro. But 1 million is a lot of people, so they can peddle space on their racist smut blogs by pointing out that most people who read their blogs are well-off and will buy your gold and gymnastics:

Screen Shot 2015-04-19 at 2.21.08 PM

Then they’ll point out how old their audience is:

Screen Shot 2015-04-19 at 2.20.57 PM

See that right there? That’s how you can tell they’re losing. Over 40% of our readers are between the ages of 25-34, while only 15% of their readers are. That’s because the only people reading the Telegram are Old Balls’ old friends in Sutton and those naked guys at the YMCA. The Turtleboy Sports Revolution is the way of the future. The Telegram is the way of the past, which is probably why they continue to promote a racist agenda.

And those ads that Neil Rosenblaum and the Gymnastics Learning Center are putting on there? Here’s what they pay the Telegram for that privilege per month:

Screen Shot 2015-04-19 at 2.21.37 PM

$3,501 per month. Ya got that? That’s what the Telegram charges them to advertise their businesses on racist and offensive articles that blame police officers who get shot in the face for being racist. That’s what the Telegram and Gazette makes per month off of articles Old Balls writes for them in which he calls people like you rednecks.

Jim Normandin’s phone number at the Telegram and Gazette is (508) 793-9111. His email is james.normandin@telegram.com. I implore you to call him up and let him know what you think about the fact that his salary is paid for by advertisers who are capitalizing on actual racist hate speech. Bombard him and let him know that anything but the Telegram’s disaffiliation with Old Balls is unacceptable. Hell, call up their advertisers too, and tell them that they’re financing hate speech. Two can play that game.

Fellow Turtleboy followers, first let me apologize for posting this comment so long “after the fact” of the blog post. I’ve been really busy.

First of all, looking at Turtleboy’s screen shots of Old Balls’ blogs and the advertisers next to them, I see that one place is called “God’s Little Children Nursery School”. I wonder if that particular advertiser knows that Old Balls is a virulent atheist and continually insults anyone who believes in God. They must not know, because they sure wouldn’t want to be associated with Old Balls if they really do think we’re all God’s children.

Second, I did some research on local ad agencies and I found out which one handles the ads for Neal Rosenblum Goldsmiths. Here is its website:

    http://atomicdesignads.com/site/index.html

Click on “clients” to see what other businesses/institutions use their service. Most appear to be non-profits, meaning they’re already taking the taxpayers’ money.

Then click on “About A.D.” In this section, the owner (“principal”) claims that this ad agency is “minority owned”. But all the pictures of staffers show white people, so they’re not minorities. Must be some other kind of minority. If one’s minority status is not obvious to others, does that still make a person a minority?

But if you combine the first word of the agency’s name and the first name of the owner, you might discover that you have already encountered him as a flaming liberal in the comments section in the Telegram, if you read the Telegram comments. I’m not suggesting anyone do so, of course.

As for me, I intend to avoid using any of the services or products provided by this agency’s clients whenever possible.

“Drunkbutnotreallystupid” is a fine example of the kind of quality Conservative you find here in the backwaters of Central MA. His ancestors were no doubt the type, when encouraged to “Go West” during the great American expansion, made it as far as Worcester before giving up. It must suck to still be stuck here and bitter all these generations later. It seems to be a common experience among those posting here. Ya’ll must be so proud.

The term redneck is chiefly used for a rural poor white person of the Southern United States. It can be a derogatory slang term[1][2] similar in meaning to cracker (especially regarding Georgia and Florida), hillbilly (especially regarding Appalachia and the Ozarks),[3] and white trash (but without the last term’s suggestions of immorality).[4][5][6]

By 1975, say Chapman and Kipfer, the term had expanded in meaning beyond the poor Southerner to refer to “a bigoted and conventional person, a loutish ultra-conservative.”[7] It is often used to attack white Southern conservatives. The term is also used broadly to degrade working class and rural whites that are perceived by urban progressives to be insufficiently liberal.[8] At the same time, some white Southerners have reclaimed the word, using it with pride and defiance as a self-identifier.[9]
    This is cited from Wikipeda……….
I’m originally from Illinois (In the Midwest) but have lived in Worcester since 2011 and am proud to consider myself a redneck because over the 10-15 years through “Country Music Culture” the term redneck has evolved to mean a person that is hardworking, fishes and or hunts, is God fearing(typically Christian faith) , is very opinionated and not afraid to voice their opinions, and if they party – they party hard, we tend to love our neighbor, if someone (even if we don’t personally know them) needs help we tend to jump in and give them a hand and you don’t have to live in the South anymore, so now many people in this great country are proud to consider themselves a “Redneck” and NO you don’t have to drive a pickup and tote a gun……… 🙂 LOL

      “over the last 10-15 years”

    • HalB
      April 20, 2015 at 3:24 pm

The term redneck has NOT evolved to mean a person that is hardworking, fishes and or hunts. It still means a rural poor white person of the Southern United States usually of a Calvinist Protestant faith.
A lot of country music fans have tried to expand it to include them when they are not from the South, but they cannot remove the original sin of rebellion from that term. That is sheer ignorance of its origin and all the baggage associated with it.

Baldino is a fraudster’s fraud. He claims that he pays taxes in Worcester because he owns and rent out a 2 family house. He is running a commercial business in Worcester but only pays the residential tax rate! Other businesses pay way over twice that rate.

Old Balls refuses to pay his fair share. He is a free riding tax dodging scumbag that has a lot to say to say about what other people should do and pay. When you pay your fair share, maybe someone would take you seriously. Until then you are living off of other people’s money.

Pony up or shut up, Baldino.

  • Yes
    April 19, 2015 at 9:43 pm

    1) Redneck is not a racist term. It just so happens most who are called rednecks happen to be white.
    2) Many “rednecks” embrace the term, and while those who use it towards them do so with intent of being offensive, it is rarely taken that way
    3) Redneck is not an appropriate term for Worcstseians. Trash, is much more appropriate.
4)Trash or being “trashy” is not inherently racist, though when the vernacular is prefaced by the word white to make “white trash”, it could be interpreted as racist. Though, interestingly enough, those who throw around the term “white trash” typically are white.

You’re all welcome for the knowledge.

    • HalB
      April 20, 2015 at 3:14 pm

      Yes, let me answer point-by-point.
      1) Correct. “Redneck” is not a racist term, It is a derogatory term for poor or working-class Southern white Protestant (overwhelmingly Calvinist) men who supported the Southern rebellion.
      2) For some reason, it has been appropriated by the same as a term of pride. It has also misguidedly been adopted by some small-town Yankee (and unbelievably Roman Catholics of various ethnic stripes who would be lynched by real rednecks) idiots in the Northeast to refer to themselves, thinking it makes them cool despite the fact their ancestors who fought against the rebels would be horrified at their use of the term.
      3) Correct. Not an appropriate term for someone from Worcester regardless of class or ethnicity. Using “trash” reveals you to be a bit of a Richard Cranium.
      4) Correct. Most people who use the term “white trash” are white like Old Balls.
The bottom line is Old Balls obviously used the term as an insult so that he could call people in Worcester racist in the league of the f***heads who used terroris(lynching/burnings/rape/murder) to try to restore the social hierarchy of the antebellum slave society. Last I checked, men from Worcester marched south in blue uniforms and won the war. While not all may have been abolitionists, they still fought against a rebel government established on slavery and won.
Old Balls seems to really want Worcester to be Selma or Birmingham, but it’s not. He’s a twit, and Yes, if this post was offered in his defense, you are too.

PS. I don’t want to hear from any morons who try to tell me the Civil War wasn’t about slavery, but about “states’ rights” and economics. The “states’rights” were the right to keep the economic institution of slavery. End of argument.

I find it ironic that anybody calling out reverse racism is considered a racist.

Because they are reaching for what is and what was amounting to nothing and jumping on this unidentified non-specific hate protest bandwagon against people that protect us and all they can do is hold some dipshit sign about how just only one race of human beings matter. All lives matter dipshits. ALL LIVES!

    • Strange
      April 19, 2015 at 10:17 pm

If you ignore the race of a person, you ignore their culture and lived experience. Culture varies greatly from town to town, state to state, ethnicity to ethnicity, religion to religion, and in a bunch of ways between these factors and others. I just had a Catholic friend who hadn’t been to church in a while go to a Catholic church of a different ethnic background remark how incredibly different it was. We all have different backgrounds and experiences, ignoring race doesn’t do anything to improve communication and understanding, and it’s, frankly, a lazy way to back out of bothering to understand the differences.

There’s no such thing as reverse racism, there’s just racism. Everyone is capable of committing racism. When we speak of systemic racism, though, we’re talking about the ways in which those powerful and dominant in the system oppress those less powerful, and that’s always white over black as it stands now.

      • April 19, 2015 at 10:38 pm

You’re implying that all black people have a shared cultural experience based on the color of their skin. Congrats you’ve outed yourself as the real racist on this blog.

“Strange” hey look – America is no longer an experiment. America is a fact and it is the best idea on the face of this earth in the history of this earth. The mixture of races and backgrounds in marriage while conceiving makes for some really good looking babies I must admit. There are allot of beautiful people in America you have to admit. Did they all come from one race or ethnic background? Some maybe but allot no. So what is the problem. I mean really. Stop with the hate and embrace!

There’s no way in the world the Telegram is getting 1,000,000 unique visitors to their site per month. Their circulation in 2012 was about 80,000 combined, print and digital, and it’s probably dropped since then. Sent!

    Hi. Mr. Normandin,

I am aware that everyone is entitled to their thoughts and opinions; however I am beyond appalled that you allowed Mr. Baldino to refer to Worcester citizens as “color-bind rednecks.” That, Mr. Normandin, is horrific. Those words were allowed to be published in the Worcester newspaper….why? My guess is, because people are talking about it. I never would have thought a local newspaper would stoop to such a low level- allowing this “keen observer,” who is not even a Worcester resident, to say suchs things.

It is perplexing that a man from Sutton prefers to start up drama where there is no drama to be found. Mr. Baldino is like an unpopular high schooler who just rants about things which are none of his business to get attention.

I used to be an avid reader of yours, until now. The Telegram and Gazette has allowed a man to say horrible things about the people of Worcester and is defending a man who shot a police officer in the face.

Goodbye, Telegram. We had a good run.

Uhmmm Mr. Baldino sir? Is there any way that during the course of your everyday business that maybe you could find a little time out of your daily routine to take pause, reflect upon the dignity that you perversely depict and go fuck yourself? Would that be possible? If so thank you from an average thinker. I am not alone dickhead.

Ditto! I hope someone from the Telegram realizes what they are going up against with the Turtleboy movement. I am highly educated but that shouldn’t really matter. I only say it because they want to believe we are all ignorant and stupid. It is disgusting to allow that man to continue to write that bullshit.
