Yesterday we shared this story with you, about a little boy named Preston who had his hat stolen from him by some dooshnozzle at Papa Gino’s in Framingham while he opened his presents for his 4th birthday party. Luckily it was caught on tape:

And although no one has identified who this winner is in the yellow hoodie:

It’s OK. Because today we received an email from the Boston Bruins themselves:

It was brought to our attention that Preston’s Bruins hat was stolen during his 4^th birthday celebration. We would love to send him a new one – might not be the exact one but we will try to get close to it! Would you happen to have the contact information for the family? The person who sent it to us doesn’t know the family and only saw it on your Facebook page.

I don’t know what we are more excited about. The fact that this nice little boy is gonna get a new favorite hat, or the fact that the Boston Bruins ride the turtle. Either way we are all winners today. Thank you Turtleboy Nation for sharing our blog about Preston’s hat. Without you none of this is possible. Turtleboy Sports always has been and always will be a true family blog.

The mother of the boy had no problem going out and getting a new hat, but it was the principle of the matter that upset us. You don’t do that to a kid on his birthday. You don’t take advantage of the fact that he’s preoccupied with his presents and steal his hat which won’t even fit you. We won’t stand for it.

If you’re not already a Bruins fan, you probably should be now.

P.S. A bunch of people reached out to us offering to send this kid a new hat. His mother greatly appreciates the offer, but it looks like it’s going to be taken care of. Thank you for your kindness and proving once again that turtle riders are some of the finest people on earth.
