The Fact That The Turtlegram Doesn’t Have Belsito’s But Does Have Panera Bread On Their “Best Of Central Mass” Sandwich List Sums Up What A Joke The Turtlegram Is

Just when you thought the Turtlegram couldn’t possibly get any more pathetic, they completely copied Worcester Magazine’s “best of Worcester County” contest:

Screen Shot 2016-09-01 at 9.33.27 PM

The only difference is that they didn’t have a “best blog” category, because they know we’d destroy everyone that they employ.

Anyway, not only did they blatantly rip of WoMag, they found a way to basically make it political. You can’t write in your answers. You have to pick one of the choices they give you. And basically The Boynton is a choice in every single category. Same with the Niche Hospitality restaurants. Not that those places aren’t great (they are great), but they’re not exactly giving the little guy a fighting chance.

Anyway, all you need to know about how fake and bootleg this “contest” is that Belsito’s is not even listed as an option under best sandwich:

Screen Shot 2016-09-01 at 9.34.14 PM

Panera freaking Bread. They have chain restaurants on their bootleg list. This is how low the Turtlegram has sunk. They’re promoting chain restaurants over local businesses. The 99 Restaurant is a choice in a couple categories. I shit you not. The 99. It would be one thing if we were making a list of the best places to eat in Auburn or Leominster, because those places pretty much only have chain restaurants. But there’s a big world out there in Worcester County, and we can do better than chain restaurants.

Look, New England Roast Beef is pretty good. I like the pizza at Steve’s but to be honest……little overrated with the sandwiches. Bushel n’ Peck and Regatta are Worcester staples, but they’re both known of their Italian subs, which are 20 pounds of bread decorated with some salami and cheese.

turtleboy-griinder

Only people who don’t live in Worcester would think any of those places is better than Belsito’s:

12718027_1726909540888363_7832228604503817838_n

Just look at that thing. It’s an East Side work of art. I wanna stuff my face with my computer right now. It’s just the right ratio of meats to cheese to pickles to mayo to their world famous Italian dressing. Only someone who was completely out of touch with where Worcester people get their sandwiches would think that Belsito’s wasn’t easily the top sandwich place. Naturally the local “newspaper” wouldn’t know, since pretty much 95% of their “news” is just regurgitated AP stories that they paid someone else for the right to print. This is yet another example of why people come to Turtleboy Sports for the “real news.”

FYI, here’s the Top 5 Sandwich shops in Worcester County:

5. New England Roast Beef

4. Maury’s Delicatessen’s

3. Boomer’s

2. Specialty Sandwich Shop (Holden)

1. Belsito’s

That’s for Central Mass. But I will say this – It’s worth the three hours of your life to make a trip to Lee (exit 2 on the Mass Pike) to get a sandwich at the Housatonic Cafe. It’s an orgasmic experience.

P.S. Here’s their choices for pizza:

Screen Shot 2016-09-01 at 9.35.53 PM

Corner Grille is the most overrate yuppies pizza in the world. No offense, but they know it’s true. It’s not real pizza. Steve’s is fine, Volturno is fancy, Antonio’s is fantastic, and the Boynton is phenomenal. But here’s the official Turtleboy  5 pizza shops in Worcester County:

5. Boynton/Antonio’s

4. Newton Square Pizza

3. Paesano’s

2. Anzio’s (Grafton)

1. Pepe’s

Regatta is going to run away with that category.

Personally, I’ll stick with subs and pizza from Vernon Pizza.

I have had a Steve’s steak sandwich. It’s gross. The meat taste completely dead and under seasoned. It’s also very stringy. Obviously precut beef from a butcher who doesn’t shave against the grain. Who can eat 17lbs of shaved beef in one sitting? There was enough meat in there to make 2 sandwiches. Plus the guy with the fucked up teeth at the counter complains when people don’t leave a tip.

Why the fuck am I having to tip a guy for making me a sandwich? Isn’t that what he gets paid to do? Not like he’s waiting a table or anything.

ILL GIVE BELSITOS A SHOT…. if you post a pic of Steves Roast Beef Sub …. .. fish n chips,,…….steak an cheese…or Lobby roll…. and let the people know why you just sucked Belsitos cock so nicely…thanks

Panera Bread has a no gun policy. I called their Corporate Office when they announced it, told them to fuck off. My admin was told to stop catering from them, denying them about $10K a year in business. Their catering sucks anyway. I do miss the coffee.

Haven’t tried the Reuben at BT’s but everything else there is awesome! Been eating at Maury’s for over 40 years. Gotta try Belsitos now!

If you’re ever driving towards Hartford on 84, make sure you stop at Rein’s New York style deli. It’s right off the highway. Place is crazy good. Plus free pickles on the tables.

Spot on! Reins Deli is frigging awesome! Been going there since the 80s. When I have to travel to CT on business I usually time the meetings so I can stop for a meal or two. Or at least pick up some bagels and deli items to bring home. The nova is the best anywhere, hands down.

This is lame. They don’t even have 290 Auto Body anywhere in auto repair list – despite doing a big glowing article for them not too long ago. I don’t understand why only certain business are pre-selected this time around instead of filling in your own answer in all of the previous years. I guess only certain people and places are part of the inner circle of “Rebuilding Worcester”

I can’t wait to read your obituary in the Turtlegram and Gayzette, Lynch.

There’s NO way you’re going to live to a ripe old age, with the way you like to provoke people, you fucking cunt. One of these days, they’ll find your bloated fat carcass bled out from either bring ventilated by lead slugs or sliced and diced like a Puerto Rican Christmas pig.

May it be as prolonged and painful as possible. I want to read how you suffered for hours, lying in your own blood, unable to call for help.

It’ll be a great day for America, when your murderous black soul departs for Hell. Rest assured your grave will be one giant urinal for me too.

TB you are a fucking savage, get that mayonnaise way the fuck away from my Italian grinder, that is fucking disgusting! And with balsamic? That’s just weird. Mayonnaise belongs on turkey and blts and that is it! Tuna too, but that shit is gross and if you pay $8 for a tuna Sandwhich, you are a total nitwit, you might as well order pb&j. Maybe mayo on roast beef if it’s mixed with mustard and horseradish. Even lobster roll, I’d rather the hot buttered kind.

I bet your the kind of person who puts ketchup on hotdogs, you fucking animal

See those holes in that Belsito bread? That means it was baked to perfection with the perfect amount of crust to inner dough ratio.

I love Specialty Sandwich Co. but they are a tad bit overpriced. The Cuban sandwich was a serious letdown. They make it with thick dense bread with slices of thick fatty pork, 1 slice of Swiss, 1/2 slice of ham, and barely any mustard. A real Cuban sandwich has Pernil (shredded pork that’s been roasted in the oven for 6 to 8 hours), slices of ham, swiss cheese, pickles, and mustard. It’s then supposed to be grilled until flat (with a heavy brick covered in aluminum sitting on top).

Not hating on them, just wish they named the sandwich differently as my hopes were crushed. It was a sad waste of $10. If I ever go back, I will try something different.

Well chosen on the Specialty Sandwich Company… and it is next door to one of the best packies in the area too, McKinley’s Liquors.

Love the dudes at McKinley’s!! The butcher behind those buildings also has great quality steaks.
