A Webster Police Officer was arrested in Dudley on domestic assault charges, and something about this story doesn’t add up:

Daniel DiFusco, of 24 Jesse Road, was arrested by Dudley police Sunday night after allegedly assaulting his ex-wife, according to a Dudley Police Department report on the arrest. He was released on $200 bail. A pretrial conference is scheduled for April 7.

Mr. DiFusco’s former wife said he arrived at her home to pick up their two children and she could smell alcohol coming from him. He allegedly tried to go into the home, but she told him he was not welcome. Mr. DiFusco told his ex-wife that he’d had three beers with her ex-boyfriend at the American Legion in Webster.

The police report said Mr. DiFusco entered the home and “told her that she could call the police if she did not want him inside.” During a conversation inside the home they spoke about custody of their children and Mr. DiFusco told the children he had begun the process of obtaining custody of them.

The ex-wife told Mr. DiFusco that he could not take the children in his vehicle because he had been drinking. An hour later, the ex-wife called Mr. DiFusco and asked if he was still drinking and he said he was not, and asked her to bring the children to his home. When she arrived, she told police, Mr. DiFusco appeared to be more intoxicated. After she left, she got a call for her to bring an item back to the house for one of the children.

So let me get this straight. He showed up to her house to pick up the kids but wouldn’t give them to him because he smelt like booze. She then threatened to call the cops if he came into the house, which he then did, and instead of calling the cops they had a conversation?

OK.

And after that he left her house and went back to his spot. An hour later she brought the kids to him, but claims that he looked MORE drunk than before? And what did she do? She left the kids with him!!! Ummmmm. How does that make any sense? She wouldn’t let him have the kids the first time, then she saw him supposedly drunker an hour later and decided the kids would be in good hands? Yea, this story checks out. LOL.

During her second trip to Mr. DiFusco’s house, a disagreement developed and Mr. DiFusco allegedly yelled at his ex-wife and grabbed her arms. She went to the Dudley Police Department to report that Mr. DiFusco had assaulted her.

Look, I wasn’t there so I can’t say what happened. Obviously shouldn’t be grabbing women. But it’s just kind of insane that she can go down to the police station, tell a one-sided version of what happened, and this respected police officer gets arrested no questions asked. Like, this could ruin his life and we don’t even know exactly what happened. I get why police are forced to arrest one person whenever there is a domestic situation like this, but it could affect his employment and his ability to even see his kids going forward. Pretty fucked up.

Divorce is never pretty, especially when kids are involved. Couldn’t even imagine what it’s like to have to have Turtleboy Jr. rationed in my life. I need him every day, even though he’s a psychopath. And as strong as my bond is as a dad, a woman’s bond is even stronger. So I can definitely imagine that emotions were running high on the Mom’s side, especially since Dad was threatening to take sole custody. That can get any woman to do crazy things. Ya know, like go to the police station and say you were assaulted, which would conveniently be to your benefit in a custody hearing. Just sayin.

The real losers here of course are the kids. Watching your parents fight like this can be devastating to a kids psyche. So I guess try to remember that going forward people. If two adults can’t figure things out without going bonkers on each other and calling the cops, then don’t drag your kids into it with you.

She felt he had been drinking. Didn’t want the children in the car with him. She later DROVE them to his residence. You seem to not understand that TB.
she wasn’t keeping him from his kids, she was protecting the kids from being in a vehicle with a person that had admitted to having consumed alcohol. Seems to be the more likely reason.

Okey-Dokey… So an hour later it was okay to leave the kids with him, after he had a few more drinks….
Ya, okay, at least he wasn’t driving. Maybe he was busy cleaning his service revolver…..
      This story’s full of holes….

Just playing devils advocate, but since when was having three beers grounds to not let the kids leave to go with a parent. That is certainly not enough to get a grown man drunk and there is nothing illegal about it. Many families go out to dinner, to a cookout, family event, or wedding and an adult may have two or three drinks. While some may choose not to drink at all or wait a period of time between the last drink and leaving, having two or three drinks and hitting the road wouldn’t exactly make someone impaired or irresponsible. What doesn’t add up is if he was that drunk not to let the kids go with him why didn’t she call 911 to report him drunk driving when he got back on the car and left?

But, it is the T&G and they aren’t exactly a credible paper. I’m of the belief that most cops are just like other professions and play by the rules, they definitely have their screw ups, but it wouldn’t be like local rag to do a hit piece on a cop with limited facts now would it. Look what they are trying to do to our City Council Vice Chairman for speaking truth to power.

Three beers in an hour on an empty stomach would put most folks dangerously close to .08, especially given the higher alcohol content of many of today’s beers. More than enough to get a grown man drunk. Sounds more like you’re trying to justify your own irresponsible behavior.

You should brush up on your reading comprehension skills and re-read the first line, “just playing devils advocate.” Thankfully I haven’t drank since way back college and even then it was pretty limited. I don’t know about you but being drunk/hungover isn’t exactly enjoyable, but to each his own. It’s a choice that’s been advantageous for me personally and professionally too. One thing is for sure, I won’t be standing tall in front of a judge for DWI.

But the more important question is still unanswered: why didn’t she call and report a drunk driver on the road? That’s concerning

Where did it say he had 3 beers in an hour? Maybe it was 2 hours… Man gets off of work at 3. Goes home, changes clothes and stops at the legion. Shoots the shit with people (including her ex-BF) and possibly shoots a game of darts or pool, maybe 2. 6 PM rolls up, and its time to get the kids. He had 3 beers in 2-2.5 hrs. Sorry, that’s being social and responsible at the same time. When he shows up at his ex’s house … yeah she will smell beer on his breath. If you drink a beer, you will have beer breath, duh.

This article published in the T&G is COMPLETELY lacking information that I can assume was either unknown to the reporter or is being withheld. The drama of he said/ she said is written like a high school reporter wrote it , with obvious holes in it that are just enough to make “Dancing Dan” look like the bad guy (which he may certainly be!) Where does the comment about having drinks with the ex-boyfriend at the American Legion in Webster fit it to the story. Sounds like Days of Our Lives episode set in Dudley, MA. I also find it interesting why the name of the “former/ex-wife” isn’t mentioned, yet their home address is??

When a cop gets arrested it is revenge. Likely this is what happened or something like it. Somewhere a Dudley cops kid get busted in Webster, Dudley cops asked for break. The Webster cops didn’t do it. So they get even. This is how they operate.

$200 bucks for bail? That won’t even cover the overtime and doughnuts for the Sunday night Dudley Do Right patrol.

Strange doings in that Swamp Yankee neck of the woods…..

Nowhere near enough information to determine who is at fault, or what really went down. But you clearly imply (imagine) the woman was emotional which may have made her do insane things? I’ll agree the kids ultimately suffer. But we certainly need more information so that an innocent person (EITHER the husband or wife) is not unfairly treated.
