Last night we wrote about the 20 Massachusetts State Senators who voted against simple legislation that would pay for infrared cameras for firefighters, bulletproof vests for cops, and a youth violence and street crimes unit. The money the state paid would be matched by the federal government. Voting yes was a no-brainer, yet 20 morons still voted “no” on the day before Ron Tarentino is buried. The argument for voting no was that “there is flexibility in the grant program that is doesn’t have to be used for vests, and can be used by communities to meet their needs.” In other words, they want more money to dole out to their supporters and donors at the expense of public safety. Shameful.
Shortly after we published the article and tweeted it at the 20 Senators who voted against it, this happened:
After reconsideration, Amendment #1098 RE: Police Protection Vest Partnership Program ADOPTED by @MA_Senate to #SenBudget (37-1)
— Michael O. Moore (@SenMikeMoore) May 27, 2016
Would you look at that. 37-1. This is what we do at Turtleboy Sports. We shame people into doing the right thing. We let the know that we’re watching. They had no choice. The best was how all their butthurt legion of supporters justified their flip-flopping:
No, they received clarification that the amendment was actually legal, and voted again. https://t.co/kfN4xQeZqu
— Nick Alberino (@nmalberino) May 27, 2016
Oh right, they voted against police safety because they thought it was illegal to vote yes. Yea, that makes TONS of sense. We all believe that.
The only one who still voted no is Dan Wolf, because he doesn’t mind showing the world that she is against public safety. But the other 19 cowards changed their votes because they knew people were watching. They knew how dumb they looked and they wanted to pretend they suddenly cared. Disgusting.
State Senator Jamie Eldridge of Acton, who represents a lot of the Metrowest north area, blamed Turtleboy for politicizing his disgraceful vote:
No, it's politicizing a tragedy; vote was reconsidered, Amend #1098 passed by @MA_Senate #mapoli #worcpoli https://t.co/1Io4aJwQFs
— Jamie Eldridge (@JamieEldridgeMA) May 27, 2016
Politicizing? This was about doing what’s right. We’ve had enough of you crooked politicians taking money from lobbyists and working in the best interests of your donors rather than first responders and teachers. This is the same guy, along with Sonia Chang-Diaz, who patted Deval Patrick on the back as he signed legislation forcing teachers to pay to be fingerprinted in order to prove they weren’t interstate child molesters. Why does he hate public servants so much? Not nice.
Wanna know what Jamie Eldridge does as a State Senator? This:
I shit you not, he is having a ribbon cutting ceremony in his district……for a water fountain!!!! Notice the bottle at his feet. He’s ready to fill that bad boy up and save the ozone layer!!! This guy would hold a ceremony for you if you opened up a can of pickles on your first try. But supporting the police with our tax dollars? No thank you.
Guess what Jamie Eldridge was voting in favor of yesterday? Banning plastic bags:
A ban on single-use plastic bags from large stores and chains around the state, approved by the Massachusetts Senate on Wednesday, will feed the anger of store owners upset with recent government actions, according to their chief spokesman. On Wednesday, the Senate added a rider to its budget on a 29-to-9 vote banning single-use plastic bags at many checkouts throughout the state. Under the legislation, checkout bags at certain stores would need to be reusable or made of recycled paper and sold for at least 10 cents apiece.
In other words, Jamie has told himself that he is saving the environment. Now businesses will have yet another expense that will make it harder for them to stay in business, because Jackwagon Jamie Eldridge from the wealthy town of Acton has anointed himself Captain Planet.
Not surprising he doesn’t care about or understand the plight of small business owners. After all this is his resume:
AKA his home in Acton has been financed by taxpayers his entire life.
Anyway, the bill passed because we shamed them into it, but we should give a shoutout to the 17 State Senators who voted the right way the first time:
Locally we’ve got Ryan Fattman, Jennifer Flanagan, Michael Moore, and Anne Gobi. Good stuff. This shouldn’t be a partisan issue, as Jamie Eldridge suggested it was:
Part of right-wing echo chamber, sad to see politicization at end of #senbudget #mapoli https://t.co/vU5PD9MZo4
— Jamie Eldridge (@JamieEldridgeMA) May 27, 2016
Newsflash – supporting the police doesn’t make you a Republican. It makes you a decent human being. Just as being a Democrat doesn’t mean the highlight of your career has to be transgender bathrooms, plastic bag bans, and water fountain ribbon cuttings. The only Republicans in the Senate are Fattman, Bruce Tarr, Richard Ross, Patrick O’Connor, Dan Humason, and Virato deMacedo. It’s easy for them to vote the right way. Special shoutout to all the democrats who voted yes and weren’t afraid to show the world that being a democrat doesn’t mean you’re automatically a dooshnozzle.

Why do the Buffoons of Beacon Hill assume that I only use plastic bags once? Also, do they understand that paper lasts as long in landfills as plastic? Rhetorical question — most “environmentalist” policies are obviously driven by people who understand very little science or math…
Shit… now we’ll all have to actually buy bags for the little trash cans in our bathrooms.
I use my old plastic bags from market basket and Walmart for my grandsons dirty diapers. I don’t know what I would do without them.
Rumor has it Jamie Boy still lives with his parents — in their basement.
Funny thing is TB would be the first one to call out the same State Senste for passing bills full of pork, just what else was in this bill? I see a few of the Senators who voted no are very big proponents of Law enforcement and Firefighters, this tells me something was sketchy about the legislation.
TBS is the most feared news source in America today. Let us keep Eldridge in the “crosshairs”.
Charge for bags at the market. They couldn’t figure out how to steal all the bottle bill deposit money that went uncollected so how will they capture some of the bag money?
So under political pressure they spend over 5M in earmarks to get 300k for bulletproof vests. Good job?
Donkeykong, fair point.
Oh Turtle, their is hope. You acknowledging that all democrats are not doshnozzels.
It’s not that they aren’t, because they are. Only reason they suddenly developed a conscience is because of the spotlight on police safety right now. They will still redistribute my paid taxes amongst their donors and other special interest bottom feeders like Mosaic.
deb, i am sure most on here would agree not all democrats are dooshenozzles. however that is all we seem to hear about. we only hear about the raging idiot SJW’s. i am very confident that there are liberal democrats who actually do some good, but sadly we never hear about them. its just like the police we hear about dirty cops ad nauseam…how often do we here when cops actually do something good???hardly ever.
I agree that the employer should pay for all necessary safety equipment, [just like firefighters fire retardant clothes]
But I heard that Officer Tarantino had a bulletproof vest on when he was shot, the vest actually stopped one bullet but another bullet went between the vest and his gunbelt ??
But nevertheless Eldridge is still a libtard dikhead, his intent is clear !!
1. almost all of these incumbents run unopposed, cycle after cycle. The first step is simply to put up some other option, some other viewpoint;
2. until then, please keep working your asses off, they need your tax dollars for gold-plated health insurance, per diems just for showing up for “work”, and the fattest and juiciest pensions known to humanity;
3. and lastly, that big check for “unused” sick days and vacation days, you know, like the one you get at your job…..oh, wait……
By next election, Jamie Eldridge will end up in the Turtleboy graveyard
Image if the voters of his district found their brains and voted the tool out in November. Imagine him in the dreaded private sector. This slacker would be a hit in most offices. Maybe he can find a job being a community organizer going around doing grand opening for bubblers.
Jamie Eldridge is the definition of slimy Massachusetts liberal. He ran for State Rep first in the early 2000s and beat my honest, former cop, and dear family friend 52-48% by lying and cheating. (Yes I’m from Acton, sorry TB, Worcester carpetbagger right here). In the ensuing roughly 15 years he’s represented Acton and other towns as a Rep and Senator, he continually votes against the fiscal interests of his constituents in order to make social statements (although Actonians are mostly wealthy activist liberal SJWs who push the agenda against their own benefit anyway).
He’s shameless; what I remember most clearly from his first campaign in the early 2000s is how he illegally obtained ballot signatures.
He had his mommy, a teacher, get signatures for him at the school where she worked. Get that? A potential public servant had his mother get signatures for him during school hours on the public dime. Despite all the ad hominem attacks he launched on our family friend, our friend didn’t reciprocate and return fire.
Eldridge is the perfect example of a head-up-the-ass moonbat SJW who disrespects cops, teachers, and public funds in order to prove he’s a good little liberal foot soldier. Because when the revolution happens, of course the Inner Party federal democrats will come knocking on his door. Right after they recruit that Superintendent in Ashland.
Elbridge is a puke. Reminds me of a young Marty Meehan. No integrity hypocrites, the two of them. Not surprising the lemming commenters have a woody for him. Probably voted for Warren, too. Pathetic.
Man, that’s incredible. Great job Turtleboy.
Good for you TB, I’m so glad I found TBS. Love your blog and I’m telling everyone I know about TBS.
Sickens me that a politician would try to make the issue of safety partisan. (shocker right) Then again, politicians sicken me anyway so just another drop in the bucket.
Way to go TB, keep exposing these wastes of oxygen for what that are.
Just called Harriett Chandler’s office she says she voted yes.
Way to go TB nation….keep shining the light of common sense on the politicians who have none except when it comes to lining their own pockets. And i certainly hope the phone lines and emails were jammed packed this morning. Dont.Poke.The. Already.Furious.Turtleboy Nation.
.
I’m telling yah, investigation and blogs like this are the new wave of comprehensive reporting and honest journalism.
Keep up the good work, TB! … we got em on the ropes!
I agree. This is really fantastic that this worked out for the better. great job Turtleboy!
I wanted to add one thing tho: don’t knock the plastic bag ban, man! I’m guilty, I use them…I have reusable ones, but I always forget to bring them.
The problem with disposable plastic bags is that in addition to them being bad for the environment, they’re also ridiculously difficult to recycle. They end up costing thousands in additional labor and repairs at recycling facilities across the globe because the thin plastic gets caught in the separation machines and the cutting machines. Workers have to manually extract them, which is extremely dangerous, and results in frequent work related injury.
For the better of the workers at recycling facilities, and to save our state millions in the addition costs associated with recycling them (extra labor to extract, disability and medical costs for injury, and additional machine repair costs) then take a stand against disposable plastic bags bro.
Jon are you sure you are a liberal democrat? You use common sense and your comments are always well thought out..
Yes Paul, I certainly am. Most of us are normal people with good ideas and a sensible mind set – I really don’t consider the SJWs to be liberal democrats…they’re their own beast in of itself and all of us normal dems think they’re total fucks.
Unfortunately our party as has been hijacked by overly sensitive, politically correct, losers that make us all seem like idiot wimps – but we’re not. Bill Maher, for example, has built a career on busting the balls of super politically correct assholes (depending on your age, you may remember his old show “Politically Incorrect.”)
A huge reason as to why there is such a huge divide between party lines these days, is because of that line of thinking. The people on the right think the lefties are crazy fucks, the people on the left think the righties are crazy fucks. That’s a big part of why I bring my opinion to comments section of TBS – because it gets people like you and I communicating, which is absolutely essential to the future of our country.
Thanks man.
Your welcome. I would love to debate you over an ice cold beer..and i do remember watching his show from time to time. Thank you
Absolutely man! There’s a few other turtle riders I’d like to meet too.
We’ll definitely have to figure something out.
Eldridge and wolf, 2 real live Commies.
