Watching Tom Brady Attempt To Block Is The Funniest Thing We’ve Ever Seen In A Patriots Game

This was the funniest thing we’ve ever seen happen during a Patriots game.

Let me start by saying how much I truly despise the two times a year the Patriots are forced to play the dumpster fire known as the New York Jets. It doesn’t matter how bad they are. When the Jets come to town we are guaranteed to play like shit. They’re boring as shit, but a win is a win. Luckily for us it’s still pretty easy to beat them when we’re at our worst. It’s amazing how we can facialize the Bills every single time we play them, but the Jets (who have been much worse than the Bills as of late) somehow find a way to make it a battle of field position and three and outs.

Anyway, Hurricane Brady was not really himself all game, but he was when it mattered the most in the fourth quarter. You know your team is blessed when your 39 year old quarterback’s “bad game” is a 280 yard, two touchdown performance over a division rival.

So this game might’ve been forgettable, but the “block” he laid on a Legarette Blount end around will live on in infamy:

I love TB12 and all, but how the hell does no one on the Jets light his ass up there? You will never, ever get a chance to drill a star quarterback like that for the rest of your career. And these morons let Brady walk right through them like he was parting the Red Sea. Kind of speaks more to what the NFL has become. I understand we need to protect the quarterbacks because they’re the face of the league, but Brady wasn’t a quarterback on that play. He was a fullback. And by not hitting him they let Blount gain five extra yards. Of course no one hit him because none of them wanted to get fined, and that’s kind of bad for the sport all around. Just sayin.

With all due respect, they were going for the guy with the ball, which is what they are supposed to do . . . . going after Tom would have neglected the prime objective, and possibly created a situation where he could gain more yardage. Perfectly reasonable, I think.

Watched that game and all I could think of was:

    ?

And that was just in the first quarter. Had to break out the Fireball out of the freezer to get through the rest of the game. 9 and 2 and playoff bound I’ll take all day long but the Pats are starting to scare me…

Phil, if you’re using Firefox, install “AdBlocker Ultimate” plugin. It’s free, and I have had 0 problems since I’ve installed it. (It blocks 15-20 ads per page… Including the pop-up ones…)

    An oldie but a goodie…

Our Constitution prescribes a republican form of government, which Abraham Lincoln described as government “of the people, by the people, and for the people.”

Question 3 is a tax roll-back initiative. Wikipedia’s definition: “In political science, the initiative (also known as popular or citizen’s initiative) provides a means by which a petition signed by a certain minimum number of registered voters can force a public vote (plebiscite) on a proposed statute. … It is a form of direct democracy.”

You’d think any patriotic Democrat would support ballot initiatives supported by the people.

    But no.

Now the primary election is over. I have just come back from an event in the Saxe Room of the Worcester Public Library, put on by Mayor Joseph O’Brien. His purpose is to affect people’s voting behavior on Question 3 so as to defeat the tax roll-back.

However, I do not want Mr. O’Brien advocating partisan policies; I want him listening to the people so as to safeguard our republic. But he is now trying to undermine, with the help of community organizers, the apparent will of Massachusetts voters. After all, he and his underlings just spent a fair portion of the meeting I attended describing how very appealing a tax cut will be to voters in the present climate.

Mr. O’Brien needs to be reminded that he works for “we, the people.” He does not have a mandate from us to “spread the wealth around.”
