We all knew that Cambridge was a haven for America-hating, organic coffee drinking pinkos. But Watertown too? Well, apparently some residents there aren’t happy with the police who conducted the manhunt which ended with the apprehension of everyone’s favorite neighborhood terrorist, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev:

One Franklin Street resident, who did not want her name published, said she felt uncomfortable with how police used military tactics during a search for the alleged terrorists, which she said struck fear in the hearts of locals.

“I was more scared of them than anything else,” she said. “These were big men in black with guns. I had a 9-year-old hiding under the covers.”

Marta Manzelli, who lives on Center Street — close to where Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was eventually found — said she has recently been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder due to the events.

Manzelli said that after being cooped up in her home for 11 hours on that April day, she shuffled downstairs in her bathrobe to check on her neighbor. She said she was greeted gruffly at her front door by men clad in military wear and holding guns, who yelled at her to go back inside.

“I have never felt so powerless in my own home, and I am absolutely appalled they were allowed to do this,” she said. “I still shudder when I think about it.”

Manzelli said she still could not believe the police did not capture Dzhokhar Tsarnaev immediately after he was wounded in the gunfight.

“They let him get away, and we suffered for it,” she said, as others murmured in agreement. “He never should have gotten away.”

So let me get this straight – the police should not have conducted their search for a wanted mass murderer, because your nine year old was scared? That seems like a perfectly reasonable expectation of law enforcement. Because it’s not the job of the police to make sure that criminals are brought to justice. It’s their job to make sure nine year olds are never scared. Ever.

Seriously though, does this anonymous lady realize how this would sound to the rest of the world? Picture a nine year old in Sierra Leone hearing this story. Men with guns came to your home? Did they kill your parents, make you take heroin, and train you to kill more women and children? No? You mean they were there to protect you from the bad guys who were hiding in your neighborhood? Sounds rough.

And no one has it harder than Marta Manzelli. She says she’s suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, which is obviously 100% true. I mean, this is one of the most traumatic things to ever happen to a person. All those Nancy Boys who fought in Nam had it easy. Sure they were always getting ambushed and murdered by Vietcong, but did any of them ever have to stay in their house for 11 hours straight???!!!! Do you realize how long 11 hours is? That’s like an entire half a day with no fresh air. #whitepeopleproblems

Oh yea, and she had to answer the door in her bathrobe too. HER BATHROBE!!! What if the bathrobe just fell off? What if the police officers went into her bathroom and smelt the giant dump she just flushed down the toilet? If that doesn’t put the T in PTSD, then nothing does.

Now you might be saying, “The police had to take drastic measures to find the fugitive terrorist.” While this may be true, they certainly didn’t have to YELL so loud. Sure she was wandering outside into what was basically a war zone, but do the cops think YELLING at her would make it any better? They obviously should’ve just asked her nicely. It’s not like they were feeling tense or nervous or anything. I mean, it’s not like the guy they were looking for has it in him to kill people right?

In all seriousness though, it’s people like Marta Manzelli that make terrorists want to kill us. They’re over there living in the Middle East in abject poverty. Their families and herds are randomly killed by drone strikes. Then they hear about people like Marta who think they have it bad because they were inconvenienced for half a day, and subsequently yelled at. Their blood starts to boil and the next thing you know they’re at their local Al-Qaeda recruiters station, ready to sign up for some jihad.

I propose we send Marta to Syria for six months. Maybe a trip to a nice peaceful country like this where the police never yell at her and the streets are always safe for a leisurely stroll at any hour, will help her get over this obviously very tragic experience.

We’re praying for you over here at TurtleBoy Sports Marta!!! Boston Strong!!!!

Couldn’t they have given that guy in a robe time to put on pants?

John, I feel for people with PTSD, I truly do. But this women’s PTSD supposedly comes from the traumatic experience of being in her house for 11 hours. And she’s using this as a way to criticize the police who protected her life. She can go screw.

She’s using it as an excuse to sue the state. Compensatory damages are tax free, so it’s better than working.

This is a terrible post. If you had any idea of what PTSD is like, you wouldn’t be this insensitive. I don’t have PTSD, but I’ve suffered from severe, debilitating anxiety, and I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. I wouldn’t even wish it on Bin Laden if he were still alive. It was living hell and I can only imagine what PTSD is like because it is supposedly much worse. If you don’t think that experience could have caused it, that they are “faking,” then you know very little about the human mind, so you are in no position to make judgments on it. That is a textbook case of a circumstance that would cause it. Sorry Aidan, but you hit a sore spot for me. Love most of your other posts though. Blog on. (just not about mental illness) 😉

For the last time, this isn’t Aidan’s blog.

Sorry that was a typo error. Meant to say Turtle Boy. Regardless, PTSD is real, and it can be hell for those who suffer. Imagine being the father of children that have nightmares every night or have this constant latent fear that somebody is hiding in their house or that police could barge in at any moment. I’m sure you wouldn’t be mocking the situation if it were yours. I love it when you’re a dick, just not toward people (including CHILDREN for that matter) with disability or illness, physical or mental.

This is supposed to be a family blog. The reason that the Bonaventure fans are so confused by this is that people in Buffalo get together with their families to drink cheap vodka and call people in Brady jerseys “faggots” out the car window.

And why South Sudan? Just curious why you would pick that country over Turkmenistan or Zambia.
