Hello Turtle Riders. As you know if you follow Turtleboy we are constantly getting censored and banned by Facebook for what are clearly not violations of their terms of service. Twitter has done the same, and trolls mass reported our blog to Google AdSense thousands of times, leading to demonitization. We can get by and survive, but we could really use your help. In one of the more classless moves we’ve seen recently from the mainstream media, here’s how WCVB attempted to get cheap page views this afternoon.

All I can say to this is…..

Do they think people really need to hear firefighters calling for him on the radio? We all know they don’t get a response. What exactly is the purpose of this? Besides of course to profit off of a tragedy. What does the public learn from this? How is this “news?” Everyone who has been following this story knows that Chris Roy did not make it out of that house. I will not listen to it because I’m not some sicko that needs to fetishize a horrible tragedy. I’d suggest that people flood their page and let the know what knobjobs they are, but it looks like people are way ahead of me.

The only reason to watch that video is to get the chills. That’s the only purpose it serves. But that’s not why the news exists. The news is supposed to inform us things we don’t already know, not feed into thrill seekers desire to watch a terrible tragedy unfold. If they showed us a video from outside of the house of firefighters going in to try to save him, that would be fine. It would have a purpose because it would show the bravery of those involved running into an inferno to save their brother. But this? This is just sick. What’s next WCVB? Are we gonna go to the cancer ward and watch mothers scream when their children die? Or how bout we listen to a police officer take his last breaths after he’s been shot? That would get some clicks for sure.

And people wanna call Turtleboy trash? Please. You can hate on us for our unacceptable opinions all you want, but we would never, ever, ever do something like this.

I’m addicted to watching stuff like this. I watch far far worse every day. I just don’t think that anyone without first hand experience can ever understand the danger and these videos get the viewers a little bit closer. I think that as long as the proper warnings are there or perhaps make the video optional viewing on a website then this is legitimate news. So are beheadings, graphic narco killings, fatal accidents on the job or on the road, war footage, peta videos, etc etc. The most important thing about drivers ed used to be the accident pictures. For smoking cessation it’s the graphic medical photos. For preventing drug use time lapse arrest photos can be effective.
