The parent of a West Boylston High School student took to social media with allegations that her son was suspended for helping a special needs student who had pissed his pants. What do you think happened?

Like, a BILLION people messaged Turtleboy about this Facebook post from an angry West Boylston High School parent who is none too pleased with discipline that was meted out to her son Jake:

Alright first of all, there’s two sides to every story. As shitty as this sounds, parents are naturally pretty biased towards their kids. We’re also basing this on the word of a student, whom we’ve never met, so I can’t say whether or not this story is 100% factual.

But given what we’ve seen from high school principals in the past, this wouldn’t surprise me in the least bit if it were true. It’s such a town move too. This wouldn’t happen at North High School because they’re too busy trying to keep 20 year old sophomores from beating the shit out of vice principals. But I would assume at West Boylston High School leaving gym class without permission is as big a deal as they come by.

Honestly, it sounds like a misunderstanding that reasonable people can sit down and figure out without getting lawyers involved. If the kid really did help a special needs kid who pissed his pants clean himself up, and if he really did bring the kids to the nurse after they injured themselves, then it’s a pretty open and shut case. Obviously he should not have been suspended. And all you have to do is sit down, and in a respectful manner, tell the principal what happened. I don’t know the principal at WBHS so I can’t say whether or not they are a moron. But if the kid explained this story to him, and he still went through with a suspension, then yes, obviously he would be a moron.

I was fired up and wanted to call out the principals when I first read it, but there’s just a lot of things that don’t add up. First of all, Mom says that when she spoke with the principal they “knew nothing of the wetting incident and nothing of the visit to the nurse.” But how can that be? Jake didn’t explain his side of the story when he was called down to the office? This would be FIRST thing an innocent person would say when they were asked to explain themselves.

The mother also insinuates that Jake only got into trouble AFTER he brought the two students to the nurse’s office. So how is it possible that the principals, “knew nothing of the visit to the nurse”? According to the story it sounds like the nurse is the one who reported him for coming to her office without a pass. So how can the principal know nothing about the visit to the nurse?

20-of-the-funniest-movie-quotes-of-all-time-8

Here’s another question – who wrote this kid up? It had to be either the nurse or the gym teacher right? If it was the nurse, then we’ve established that the story doesn’t add up. But if it was the gym teacher then it sounds like a misunderstanding. If indeed it was the gym teacher who wrote him up, all that had to be done was having the kid explain what happened. If he’s not a constant behavior problem, and hadn’t done stuff like this before, any reasonable teacher would agree to drop it.

And why didn’t the kid just tell the gym teacher, “Hey, this kid pissed himself, are you gonna clean him up or do I have to?”

Look, like it or not we are living in the age of school shootings, lockdown drills, and child molesters. Schools aren’t in a position where they can be fucking around and having three kids, two of which are special needs, leaving class without telling an adult. I agree that if what the kid says is true, it shouldn’t be a big deal, and all this can be fixed with the snap of a finger. But at the same time, it all could’ve been avoided if protocol had just been followed.

Here’s another comment that made Turtleboy scratch his head:

Screen Shot 2015-09-19 at 12.56.02 PM

He’s no stranger to “frivolous” suspensions. See, we’re leaving in the era of Chapter 222, where schools aren’t allowed to suspend kids anymore because they know they’ll get sued. So pardon me if I have a hard time believing that all of Jake’s suspensions are frivolous. Kids don’t get suspended merely for “talking in class” or “expressing frustration with school work.”

Miss Turtleboy, I don’t understand how to solve this equation.”

FIVE DAYS SUSPENSION!!!”

Yea, something doesn’t add up there. “Expressing frustration” is a pretty vague term that can mean a variety of things, as can “talking in class.” For all we know this could mean that the kid was goofing off, talking with friends, and disrupting class. He could’ve been talking back to the teacher when redirected and complaining that the work was too hard in order to avoid taking responsibility for it. He could’ve been a constant behavior problem. Who knows?

The bottom line is that Mom is also only getting her kid’s version of the story, and most kids will tell their parents anything that keeps them out of trouble. It could all be true, but I’m not gonna pass any judgement on this until I hear the other side of the story. Feel free to speculate on your own in the comments though!!!

Probably whatever they said is why he is in trouble.

Kristi Kavanaugh Rucci is such a know it all about what happened that day. TB how bout you get he exclusive on what went down in that bathroom for those 20 minutes. Exactly what did her kid do? Exactly what happened that got the one kid hurt? Did he change he kids pants or just dry him off? How long did that take? What was the other kid doing there? She has so much detail about everything else but no details about that. She likes to tell a good story TB get that one if you can.

Ask the two kids that were in the bathroom with him. They are the only ones that know what happened.

And why did Jake willingly take them to the nurses office if he was in the wrong?

This one should sell how to wreck your child’s future lessons. No way is this story true and no doubt the real story will come out now that his big mouthed mother has made him a household name. He will never be free now. I pity this kid.

My kid went to WBHS. Unfortunately it was during the Larry Murphy era. He was a complete and total asshat. The rest of the admin staff was pretty useless as well. I don’t know this kid or his mom but just based on our experiences with the school, I’m on the kid’s side.

“We have to stand for something in this world.”

No offense lady, but your brat getting suspended is not exactly the type of thing that will ignite a social movement. No one cares, move on! 🙂

This definitely sounds like something is not right here. I don’t buy the big heart story regarding this alleged pee incident. The school has been “called out” by the mom. So maybe the school should give full disclose on what went down. The mother may not like what comes out …… but we all have the right to know if the children are safe

This story has white trash written all over it. When did West Boylston get to be that?

Your average mother just does not approach things this way. A little advice lady. Next time tell your kid to ask before he leaves the room.

Definitely more to this story than junior is letting on. does anyone else find it a little creepy that a high school aged boy is “cleaning up”a special needs kid after he pissed his pants?

      No,
But whats creepy is supposed good people within our communities referring to a special needs child as “pissing his pants”. The title is disgusting as are the pictures and most of the comments. This shouldn’t even be something any adult would make a joke about its wrong.

Normally I would however I know Jake and due to him being extremely close to his special needs cousin he has always had a soft spot and need to protect special needs kids as a mother of a special needs child i wish more kids were accepting and protecting as he is

Ma Rucci doesn’t think it strange that her boy snuck away from gym with two sped kids to go hang out in a bathroom changing other boys pants. Ya that sounds normal. Nothing weird about that. It happens all the time in high school.

That is an unacceptable accusation. I’ve known Jake since he born. He is a special person that has a heart of gold. Posting this to be funny with no prior knowledge is moronic. Grow up.

Seriously can’t believe how naive you are.

It’s called INSUBORDINATION and schools can interpret that word anyway they want to.
Happens all the time (except in Worcester schools).
So many school administrations are downright scary and full of anarchists.
I have seen some unbelievable sh!t that cannot be unseen.

This is so true. i had 3 children go through the WB school system and some of the things that happen there are truly bizarre. you dont here a lot about it because they keep everything off the radar as much as possible. I would not doubt for a minute that this story is 100% accurate. If you could sit down and talk to the administration there you would understand. They are really clueless as are most people in that town.

I think the school blew this WAY the flip out of proportion.
They REACTED before getting the whole story.
If the student was doing something really, really WRONG, he probably would not bring the other student to the nurse (willingly) to squeal on him?? No??
I question WHY the parents were not notified to begin with? W.T.F.????

I’d like to see the WeBo principal last ONE frickin’ day at North High.
