Update on the story about the people on the motorcycle who showed up at Mount Wachusett with cuts from an alleged motorcycle accident. According to Masslive the story checks out:

Police logs show there was a motorcycle crash on Sunday afternoon before a man reportedly arrived at Wachusett Mountain with cuts and scrapes on his arms. The Daily Mail had reported that authorities were reviewing security footage of a man and woman who arrived at Wachusett Mountain around 2:30 p.m. Sunday saying the man had received cuts in a motorcycle crash. That incident was reported to police investigating the killing of 27-year-old Vanessa Marcotte, whose body was discovered Sunday night in the woods off Brooks Station Road in Princeton. Authorities stated Thursday that they believe Marcotte fought with her killer and they were looking for a man with cuts, bruises or scratches.

Westminster Police Chief Salvatore Albert confirmed the crash and the story the motorcyclist told employees at the mountain. “This was completely unrelated,” said Albert of this incident and Marcotte’s killing.

Westminster Police Department logs show there was a motorcycle crash on Sunday at 1:43 p.m. A responding officer reported the motorcycle was “laid down” on Worcester Road, but classified the crash as minor. The log shows a man was riding the motorcycle with a female passenger. Both declined to go to the hospital, according to the logs. Albert said the motorcyclist, who had some road rash on his arms from the crash, was on his way to Wachusett Mountain when the crash occurred and that’s why he sought medical attention there.

But here’s the problem – the story conflicts with the story David Crowley, the owner of Mount Wachusett ski resort, gave to the Daily Mail

‘A man and woman appeared at the resort around 2 o’clock on Sunday afternoon and said that they had been in a motorcycle crash, or had somehow come off the motorcycle. They claimed that the ambulance driver had told them to go up to the resort because we were open to clean up which seemed odd to my employee who recounted the incident. She said she didn’t see any sign of an ambulance and it seemed strange to her that anyone would have given that advice if that’s really what happened.’

See the difference? According to what was reported by Masslive, there was no mention whatsoever of an ambulance. THAT was the part of the story that made it unbelievable. We find it extremely unlikely that a paramedic would advise a motorcycle crash victim to go to Mount Wachusett instead of one of the many hospitals in the area (Gardner, Leominster, Fitchburg).

The employee that the Daily Mail interviewed also made no mention of the female passenger needing medical care. If a bike crashed, how does the passenger not at least get a boo-boo? Not saying it didn’t happen like that, but just that there’s a lot of misinformation going on out there right now. If the story happened the way the Mount Wachusett employee says it did, then they are right – that is strange. And we should be skeptical.

Anyway, all we want is the truth. Every day that the killer goes unfound makes it more unlikely that they will ever be found. There must’ve been a shitload of physical evidence on Vanessa Marcotte’s body, as well as in the area where she was killed and left. If you have any sort of information, OBVIOUSLY you should contact the police first. But if you want to share something with us AFTER you do so, please don’t be afraid to reach out to the Turtle.

Anyone can refuse EMT assistance. If you dumped your bike and aren’t seriously hurt why would you take a $2500 ambulance ride, spend a few hours in a hospital running up bills on x-rays, cat scans, cardiograms when all you did was hit a patch of sand on your bike while riding up a twisty road to a mountain to enjoy a beautiful day? In reality he probably got better care at the ski resort, they have a trained staff that deals with crash injuries on a daily basis.

Maybe the guy refused help from the ambulance because he didn’t have health insurance, and didn’t want a bill. Odd, but plausible.

“Ambulance Driver?” No such thing anymore.. all are a minimum of EMT… Then Advanced EMT, then Paramedic. I know its not TB that came up with Amb Driver, just educating the public is all. EMT straight up to Paramedics work hard for their certifications and should get the credit they deserve.

‘ The Daily Mail ” seems to get facts on many stories. They broke many stories in the past, that the media here did not. This is another example !

Yes this is a lot of misinformation, that’s why everyone should check with the head investigator TB before releasing any information

Maybe the two stories are saying the same thing. The newest story said the motorcyclist refused medical attention and the older story made reference to an ambulance driver. Maybe the motorcyclist refused medical attention at the scene from the ambulance driver who responded to the crash. If this is true both stories are correct.

I’m with you Brian. Refusing medical attention does not mean an ambulance never came. I was in a wreck; the first responders and an ambulance came, but I didn’t leave in one. Going to Wachusett after they fell was actually a smart move. If the bike went into a ditch, why wait on the side of the road and risk getting hit by a car? What other landmarks are around there for reference if you’re not really from the area?

Pull police /EMS logs and investigate it yourself.
