Worcester Morons Think Solution To Heroin Epidemic Is To Create A Junkie Zoo And Toss Bodies In Dumpsters

Worcester Telegram and Gazette: The message Wednesday to drug users in Worcester was simple and direct: Stay off the heroin.

The statement issued and echoed by many of the city’s top officials came in a news briefing confirming that a ninth person died from a drug overdose. Since Friday, a total of nine people have died from drug overdoses in Worcester, and there is a possibility of a 10th. The ninth death was discovered on Wall Street, where a man was found dead at the site of the old El Morocco.

Police Chief Gary J. Gemme said heroin use is suspected in at least eight of the deaths.

“There’s something going on with the heroin. Stay away from the heroin. It’s as simple as that,” Chief Gemme said.

Heroin in the city is either being mixed with a deadly substance or the purity is so high that it has become deadly to users, police officials said.

“We are in the midst of a public health emergency,” said Derek S. Brindisi, city director of Public Health.

Worcester had 22 overdose deaths in all of 2011, according to the city’s news release. The city is just a few deaths shy of half that number already this month. Three men were found dead Monday inside an Outlook Drive apartment, and police suspect heroin-related overdoses. Another three people were found dead Tuesday.

So this whole story is obviously a real downer. No one wants to see people die from drug overdoses right? Oh wait, you mean the comments section of the Telegram is filled with the most fucked up things you’ve ever read? Get the fuck out of here!!!

I’m sympathetic towards these people. Apparently that leaves me in the minority amongst the commenters on the Telegram and Gazette’s comments section. These comments are so terrible I burst out laughing reading them. Like, people actually believe the shit they’re typing. Check out these winners:

“simple call one dpw employee and remove the person and place in dumpster along with all the belongings ( most of it stolen anyway ) city would save a bundle”

First of all, I’m willing to bet 99% of people addicted to heroin could write a better sentence than this. Yes, this is all one sentence. This guy actually believes that the best way for the City of Worcester to save money is to throw dead addicts in a dumpster. Imagine running for mayor on that platform?

What’s your plan to expand the taxbase?”

Simple, get a dump truck in here and throw junkies in it. Boom. Economy fixed.”

At first I couldn’t tell if he was serious or not. Surely throwing dead people in a dumpster is not his actual plan. But then someone told this guy that he was going to hell and he came back even stronger:

“The police do an amazing job and judges lets these things out they should be in cages we could start a business a zoo the junkie zoo see those junkies jumping around people can throw stuff at them”

Holy shit, he just upped the ante. So not only does he think we should get started with his dumpster plan, he also wants to round up all the addicts and put them in cages in a “junkie zoo” so we can throw shit at them. Luckily for this guy God loves him. Because in the Bible Jesus was always talking about his grand vision of a junkie zoo. I mean, as terrible as it was, I couldn’t help but burst out laughing because there are people out there who honestly believe we should take people who are addicted to heroin, cage them up, and throw shit at them for our amusement. Holy shit.

It was just this one guy though right? Nope. He just made it clear that the race was on to say the most fucked up thing they could possibly think of. Here were some more winners:

Yup, society is completely fucked. Because in a civilized country people say shit like “Couldn’t have been more happy when my the guy next door to me over dosed” all the time. Not to get all sappy here, but if you look at drug addicts and say to yourself, “Man it would be fucking sweet if he just died right now,” then you are a borderline psychopath.

Oh yea and if you see ten dead people and your first thought is “That’s a good start” then I have a hard time believing that God loves you. If you are God’s model for how we’re supposed to act, then EVERYONE is fucked.

Oh yea, and I always love when “us taxpayers” is brought up. Like the government wouldn’t be able to function without this nudnik’s contribution from the $25,000 a year tax bracket. Like, these people really sit around their house and pat themselves on the back for funding this massive government spending. Newsflash moron – you don’t really matter. Rich people matter. They’re the ones who pay most of our bills, not you. And there’s just no way people who write sentences like that can possibly live anywhere but a trailer off of Grafton Street.

Look, I’m all about being responsible for your choices. People who are addicted to drugs made a lot of really bad decisions. But once you’re in, you’re in. They realize what it does to their lives and don’t give a shit. I dare anyone to watch The Wire and not come out of that with a different perspective. One of the greatest characters ever, “Bubbles”, was so awesome on that show because it took him five seasons and a mountain of obstacles along the way in order to kick the habit.

Anyway, hopefully this shit starts to die down. If not, then these morons grand vision for a junkie zoo may become a reality sooner than we thought.

Feel free to share your thoughts to keep the conversation going.

Life is a puzzle that can’t be solved ever. So the day we turn our backs on our brothers and sisters, and pass judgement we are no better.

Unfortunately addiction is plaguing our society, but addiction is a disease. As someone who suffers from addiction and has been clean for a long time I know how hard each day is for an addict. We should be praying for those unfortunate enough to struggle and suffer with this disease. Every second is difficult. It is a challenge just to find happiness.

Addiction is not a disease, it’s your own problem of lack of self control/morals
