According to Mass General Law ch. 268A(b)(2)(ii) as spelled out in the State Ethics Commission Advisory 11-1(2), restricts public employees from engaging in political activity in their public roles, or use public resources in connection with such political activity:

Thus when Worcester Police Chief Gary Gemme used the Worcester PD Twitter account to announce his displeasure that the WPD Union endorsed Mike Gaffney for Mayor:

He was breaking a really good law. You’ll notice that since his illegal action was pointed out, he has since taken down the Tweet:

This is also known as a “cover up.” And this of course surprises no one. It’s par for the course in Worcester. After all, the teacher’s union’s Twitter account is what Lenny Zelauskas uses to endorse his boy Joe Petty and get into pissing matches with young women who dare to question his gang of old white men:

Why is Gary Gemme even talking at all? His officers chose to endorse Mike Gaffney, and now he’s butthurt because his BOY Joe Petty is butthurt about it. He’s been telling everyone  how he can’t believe they would support Gaffney because he supports Petty. This is blatantly against the law. Ya got that? The Chief of Police is seeking out every media outlet he can find to violate the law. He is not allowed to use his position as chief of police to advocate for political causes. The Chief of Police in Worcester is breaking the law in front of your eyes and covering it up. But we caught him.

And why wouldn’t he? Gemme is nothing but a politician with a badge. Turtleboy has watched enough episodes of The Wire to tell you that you don’t get to where Gemme is without juking the stats. If you admit that your city is seeing an unprecedented level of violence then you’re basically admitting that you did a shitty job because it happened under your watch.

I don’t blame Gemme for the violent summer of love we just had. It’s not his fault. But the guy who has been supporting his officers this whole time has been Mike Gaffney. When protesters disrupted several city council meetings, called Worcester cops pigs, and accused them of murdering unarmed civilians, where was Joe Petty? He allowed them to shut down Lincoln Square. He offered to drop the charges for the Kelley Square 4. His girl Sarai Rivera and his boy Dicky Rushton voted against Konnie Lukes resolution to support the WPD.

And yet here Gary Gemme is supporting this chump. Gee, I wonder why? Probably because they’re all part of the same machine. They’re all in this together. They all have to deny that crime is a problem in this city to save their own skin. But we can see with our eyes that not only are they liars, they’re also breaking the law. Even the chief of police.

Crickets? Seriously?? This guy is as much to blame for the Summer of Love as anyone and nobody comments? Let’s remember, this is the guy that made getting a license to carry in Worcester so difficult that it dissuades good law abiding people from applying at all. This guy is another gang problem denier. Nobody has anything???

It’s not a problem. It’s an opportunity for progressive dialog about race relations in the city.
