Anyone who ever saw Worcester’s Richard Rodgers play sports at St. John’s knows what a special talent he was. Ask the kids at Fitchburg about the time he roasted them four touchdowns at Crocker Field. Ask the kids at Shepherd Hill who got posterized on Rodgers legendary electrifying dunks. Ask the kids at Lynn English who got destroyed by St. John’s by 20 points in the D1 State Basketball Championship when he was only a sophomore. He’s something special.

Add the Detroit Lions to his list of emasculated opponents.

The Packers were getting creamed tonight. Down 17-0 at half and making Turtleboy hate himself for drafting Aaron Rodgers over Tom Brady. But because it’s the Lions they had to let Green Bay back in the game. The Packers got to within 23-21 with no time left on the clock. The Packers were trying to keep the ball alive by lateraling it backwards, hoping for a miracle. That miracle came from the refs when they made a questionable face mask call by the Lions against Aaron Rodgers. This gave them a chance for a Hail Mary, and guess what happened!!

Because…….Detroit.

This is what happens when God doesn’t love your football team. I wouldn’t know anything about that. I’m a Patriots fan. This is the face you make when God doesn’t love you:

It’s also what you get for dressing like an asshole at a football game.

Let me just say that this was yet another example of NFL refs making themselves bigger than the game. This was clearly not a penalty:

In real leagues games do not get decided on such a nonsense call like that. Aaron Rodgers had given himself up. There was no one left behind him for him to lateral to. Game over. But the refs just HAD to give the Packers another chance because whenever they’re not sure if a penalty actually occurred, they throw the flag anyway just in case. This play represents everything that is wrong with the NFL right now.

Here’s another question – why wasn’t Megatron on the field for that play? It was a Hail Mary. The only play was to bomb it into the end zone, and Calvin Johnson just so happens to be a physical specimen who has been the most dominant pass catcher in football for five or six years. But he was just standing on the sideline getting emotionally murdered instead (this is hilarious):

I don’t know why Megatron wasn’t out there. These are the questions you have to ask when your team isn’t coached by Bill Belichick. Even Richard Rodgers couldn’t understand why Megatron was on the sidelines:

Great day for the Packers, great day for Worcester, just another day for Detroit.

Let me end by saying how cool it was when athletes like Richard Rodgers didn’t go to prep schools. That’s what all the kids are doing now days. Notre Dame’s Zack Auguste left Marlboro High School after his sophomore year to go to prep school. Division 1 prospects A.J. Brodeur (Algonquin), Tanahj Pettway (Worcester North), and Makai Ashton-Langford (St. Peter Marian) all left their schools to disappear to prep schools. It’s led to a serious decline in the quality of high school sports around here, and it blows. I wish these kids would realize that people like Michael Bradley, Yawin Smallwood, and Richard Rodgers still made it to the pros by going to normal high schools and having normal high school experiences.

It also would’ve been nice to see Richard Rodgers at a public high school instead of St. John’s. Im not sure what quadrant he grew up in (I’ve been told it’s Burncoat), but the fact that our school’s can’t attract these type of student athletes should be a red flag for our School Committee. Because back in the day first round NBA draft picks like Mike Bradley went to Burncoat and it was AWESOME. And Richard Rodgers is fun to watch and all, but he went to St. John’s. Come on now. No one wants to root for those altar boys.

    Facemask? No.

    Hands to the face? Yes.

Illegal contact to the head of the qb? Yes.

Either way its 15 yds and a auto 1st down so whats there to bitch about?

You left out the part about Detroit giving up a 20 point lead. Thats more significant than the Facemask penalty. Ohh and Detroit sucks dick. Its not like anyone expected GB to lose this one and they didnt even though GB isnt half the team they have been the past few years.
