So a couple of WPI students forwarded us this email written by school president Laurie Leshin to the entire student body and faculty at the school. Leshin is relatively new to the job (less than two years) and is the first female president of the predominantly male school. Based on this insane, ridiculous, and inappropriate email that she sent out for evidently no reason, it is clear that she is also a social justice warrior extraordinaire. Basically the entire email craps all over police officers, generalizes them as racist murderers, makes up outright LIES, and fails to mention that police officers are being killed left and right in this country. Her email is italicized followed by our rational commentary in bold…..

(if you want to reach out to President Laurie Leshin, here’s her email: president@WPI.EDU)

Dear WPI Community,

Lately I’ve been reflecting on the tumultuous time in which we find ourselves.  Certainly some of this is connected to the uncertainty and discourse surrounding the upcoming US election.  But personally, I have been moved and deeply concerned by the recent shootings of unarmed young Black men in our cities.  And I know I’m not alone — these senseless shootings have left many of us horrified and disturbed, and have contributed to increased racial tensions across the country.  It’s a difficult time—but also an important time, because I know that from concern, frustration and even anger, can come opportunity for meaningful dialogue and change.  And it is that opportunity that we must embrace.

So……where did this come from? This lady was just doing some “reflecting” and she said to herself, “Gee whiz, I think I’m gonna go write an email to EVERYONE who goes to WPI to let them know about the thinking I’ve been doing about “unarmed” angels like Michael Brown who bravely sacrificed their lives so that others could have an excuse to riot.”

Oh by the way, Laurie Leshin couldn’t possibly be whiter either:

That right there is the face of someone who has had little to no interactions with people of color her entire life. This is how people like her compensate for that. Everything she knows about minorities she has learned on social media and television. She feels guilty about growing up in such a homogenous environment. Those of us who actually grew up in diverse, urban environments don’t feel the need to prove to other white people that we’re one of the good ones. We’ve interacted with people who look different from us our entire lives, and we get along just fine. Only a white person who has never interacted with people of color would say something so ridiculous.

Last week, the Office of Multicultural Affairs hosted its second “Can We Talk?” session of the academic year, welcoming more than 60 members of the WPI community to a discussion on inclusive team dynamics. Thank you to the students, faculty and staff that participated.  This is the type of conversation I believe we need to be in and I support this work wholeheartedly. And it is just one example of the programs WPI is committed to offering as we focus on diversity and inclusion. On November 16th from 12-2 in Alden Memorial, we will continue the community conversation on inclusion and race we started last fall and expand the discussion to include culture and stereotypes in their various forms.  Stay tuned for additional details — I invite you to engage in this critical dialogue on our campus.

See, this is SJW’s trying way too hard. Stop trying to push “diversity and inclusion” on people. We’ll do it ourselves. Do you really think students really need to go to a seminar to figure out how to interact with a black or brown student? How insulting is that? WPI is a great school because they train brilliant minds to build great things for America. And it’s worked out great too. Robert Goddard graduated from WPI, and he brought the world rocketry. But apparently what he should’ve been bringing the world is “diversity and inclusion.” Because that’s way more important. That’s the real reason WPI exists.

In addition to these important discussions, we are taking other positive action as well.  As you know, we recently hired Michelle Jones-Johnson into the new role of Vice President of Talent Development and Chief Diversity Officer.  In support of our efforts to expand our focus on diversity and inclusion, we are excited to announce that Bonnie Walker, currently Director of WPI’s Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA), will become WPI’s new Executive Director of Diversity and Inclusion Strategy, reporting to VP Jones-Johnson. This new role will allow Bonnie to bring her considerable talents to bear to make a strategic contribution to our expanded institution-wide diversity efforts.  Bonnie will continue to be engaged with the OMA and will work closely with her replacement as OMA Director once a formal search is completed. She will transition officially once a new OMA Director is named. Please join me in thanking Bonnie for taking on this expanded role at WPI.

Jesus H. Christ. How many new positions are they gonna create with PC buzzwords? This is what tuition goes to at WPI. This is why your fees are growing up. This is why you’re gonna be in debt for another couple years. Because WPI simply cannot survive without a “Vice President of Talent Development and Chief Diversity Officer” AND a “Executive Director of Diversity and Inclusion Strategy.”

wpi-acadia-159-cropped

Here’s a quote from the new chief diversity officer:

“We have a great desire to increase diversity within the workforce, and particularly for faculty because we know for our underrepresented students, having a role model in front of them can make all the difference.”

Right. Because a student of color cannot possibly look at a professor who is white and view them as a role model. The only role models you can have are people who look like you. Yup, nothing RACIST about that ideology!! Here’s an idea – how bout Laurie Leshin practices what she preaches and resigns her job so a person of color can fill it. After all, what bigger role model is there on campus than the school president?

14063746_10208253547709344_1586417727062204416_n

Oh that’s right, they’re not gonna do that. Because SJW’s are very big on forcing diversity on others. They’re just not willing sacrifice anything of their own for the sake of diversity.

Back to the email. The last paragraph was the most asinine of them all, and should without a doubt justify the termination of Laurie Leshin as President of WPI:

In closing, the social justice short video Against the Wall came across my twitter feed the other day.  It’s moving, and I wanted to share it with you.  You may be feeling marginalized as a person of color or a member of the LGBTQIA community.  You may be an international student far from home where global atrocities are occurring.

First of all, the fact that an anti-cop propaganda video came across her Twitter feed tells you everything you need to know about the type of people that Laurie Leshin is following, and how she consumes the news.

Secondly, what the hell is LGBTQIA? How many letters are we gonna add to this thing before it loses its meaning?

Thirdly, stop trying to make people feel sorry for themselves. This is not what America is all about. “You may be feeling marginalized as a person of color or a member of LGBTQIA? So….get over it. Your feelings are irrelevant, and it’s not the job of WPI to make sure you’re feeling good about yourself.

cuvqo5jxyaeqizi

Or maybe you feel helpless, or unsure how to handle your majority privilege. You may feel sad, confused or angry about recent events.  I understand these emotions, and yet knowing our community, I am optimistic about the future.  Although we may not always clearly see the future, I know that as a community we can come together, support one another, and make positive change.

I look forward to continuing this important quest with you.

Sincerely,

-Laurie

Wait…..what?? Did she really write in an email to the entire faculty and student body telling them how to handle their “majority privilege.” Newsflash – “Majority privilege” isn’t real. Women make up a majority of this country. Does that mean that men are oppressed? Of course not. And even if this woman thinks it is real, that just makes it her opinion. But she’s phrasing this email like it’s a fact. What about the thousands of people who read this email and don’t agree with her? Why are they being forced to subscribe to her twisted SJW ideology?

The most absurd part about this email was the “Against the Wall” video that she linked in it. Please, take four minutes out of your day and watch this. The lies will make your blood boil, but the fact that it was endorsed by the president of WPI makes it beyond inappropriate:

Here’s some quotes from that video:

“If you have as large a population of murdered young men in America, and they’re all black and of African-American descent, I think there’s someone sending us a message and we should respond to that message.”

Murdered? No one is being “murdered.” People throw that word around a lot like they know what it means. Even if Darren Wilson was at fault (which he was not), it’s still not a murder. This is just a LIE that the president of WPI is forcing down her student’s throats.

Then there’s the lie in regards to people being killed by police that “they’re all black.” I mean, that’s just patently untrue. And the president of a prestigious college is endorsing this video, so she’s spreading this lie. The fact of the matter is that the vast majority of people killed by cops every year in this country are white. But you don’t see white folks protesting for them because white folks like myself don’t care if cops kill dangerous criminals, regardless of their skin color.

In the video they keep playing the clip from the Terrence Crutcher shooting in Tulsa. But the cop who shot and killed Terrence Crutcher has been arrested and is facing charges. That’s the very definition of justice. A person who committed a crime is being held responsible for that crime. So what problem are they trying to fix?

“We’re being hunted every day. It’s a silent war against African-American people as a whole.”

WHAT??? Hunted? What is this, Jumanji? Human beings are being HUNTED??? This isn’t just some wacky theory tossed out there by nutjobs. This is a message that is EXPLICITLY endorsed by the president of WPI. And not only that, it’s being pushed on easily manipulated college aged students and faculty. Lauire Leshin called it “moving,” to watch a video that accuses police officers of literally “hunting” black people for sport. Unacceptable.

If you are white, and you work in a black community and you are racist, then you need to be ashamed of yourself.”

Agreed. So please off the top of your head name one cop in America that you know for a fact is racist, and show us something to prove it. I’ll wait.

Police brutality right here. Police brutality right here!!”

Why?? Why would you feel the need to send along this message that the police are this awful organization that commits brutality? Do some step over the line? Yes. And they need to be dealt with. But the vast majority of cops are good people who do their job well. How irresponsible is it for a college president to pass along this one-sided message to an entire student body?

No mention in the entire email or video about the five Dallas cops who were killed by a black lives matter supporter. Or the three dead cops in Baton Rouge. Or the dead cop in Houston. Or Kentucky. Or Officer Ron Tarentino, killed in the neighboring town of Auburn. Those things never happened. Racist white cops shoot innocent black kids. That’s it. No one else ever gets killed.

The bottom line is, Laurie Leshin owes the entire student body an apology, and if she can’t do that then she should resign and let a black person take her place. How would you feel as a WPI student if your mother or father was a cop? How bout their feelings? Do they not matter? Because videos that spread lies like the video Laurie Leshin just shared have turned millions in this country against the police. They’ve inspired murders of police officers, because they made people believe there is a “war” going on with cops. And in wars you go on the offensive.

P.S. Here’s a video of WPI “black lives matter” students refusing to let a basketball game be played because according to their leader, “fuck this game, shut this shit down.”

This is the type of behavior that WPI is condoning.

I wonder who’s going to take her place. LOL Unless President Obama backs her up and invites her to the White House for a beer.

Society (young, old, black, white, latino, asian, etc.) have little respect for the police. That’s pretty obvious. But why? Well, for starters, the law is no longer feared, therefore no longer respected because being arrested is no longer a punishment. It is a right of passage that results in a slap on the wrist or less, so people think they can physically intimidate the police which unfortunately results in getting yourself shot. And then everyone is supposed to blame the police. Prior to growing up into that street thug, youngsters show little respect for teachers, parents, and elders. There are no consequences for actions in the schools, home, or when in contact with everyday people. Young people are born and raised to be obnoxious thugs who don’t have to be respectful members of society and have everything handed to them. When the kid gets in trouble, his thug parent runs to his/her defense, making excuses and teaching the kids they don’t have to respect authority. This breeds the same type of adult. Nothing will ever change until children are taught how to grow into respectable adults. Holding children AND THEIR PARENTS accountable for their actions is the first step.

2005 BS.ECE, 2012 ME.ECE here. Very disappointing for me. I had already stopped donating when I noticed that the tuition was rising exponentially and the quality of life for the students was decreasing. Dorm rooms that are forced triples that were barely adequate as doubles when I was there, no noticeable expansion in lab space despite a nearly 33% increase in student body. Teacher student ratio going the wrong way. Where is all the money going? A colossal new gym and fitness center, re-habbed administration buildings, and wiping out a huge section of our already limited quad for a shiny new Admissions center. Bloated administration. They seem to have forgotten that training great engineers is what they should be focusing on.

I totally agree with you on the gym comment. I was class of ’07. The gyms were often empty, yet computer labs were so full teachers had to practically force students out when they had a class to teach in one (I took a few bioinformatics labs that required a software subscription only available on some computers). Its an engineering school, students are there to prepare for STEM careers. While physical fitness is important, the gyms did not get used much while I was there, and few (if any) of the student athletes will ever play professionally, so the massive facilities wont be helping anyone’s career.

’79 ME and I’ve never given a fucking penny to my Alma Mater.

I was there during “the plan” to validate for anyone who remembers it. So long ago I don’t remember many professors but the good ones were old and white, like Professors Wilbur, Flunking Fred Anderson and Mumbles Nelson (learned more about diffy q’s from that old bastard than I realized!). Back then we concentrated on coursework, learning, getting drunk and getting laid. We did not whine, seek safe places nor suck dick.

The school is now a joke. This cunt should do the school a favor by either resigning or practice self euthanasia.

    Tired Tired Tired
There are thousands of black males interacting with white cops every day. If cops were “hunting” black males common fucking sense dictates there would be hundreds of shootings every day. It never has and never will happen. Liberals, for some warped reason, keep trying to force this lie down our throats. For supposed educated people they can be numbskulls.

So glad my engineering school alma mater has not succumbed to the SJW agenda. Of course, our diverse alumni are one of the major sources of revenue for that institution. If I ever saw an email like this sent out to the student body and faculty, I would certainly not make my annual donation, and I know tens of thousands of my fellow alumni would not either. I’m sure WPI has a similar alumni donor base. They need to nip this in the bud before this institution loses its prestige. This could get ugly quickly. You WPI folk have to rein in your “president”!

Whenever an organization gets successful, it attracts parasites and remora-like creatures. WPI has had an amazing building and expansion in the past 10 years, funded by alum largesse. This president needs to be gassed before she infects the healthy host.

You realize that the video of WPI, is not WPI, right? Second, how can you speak on the experience of a person of color, if you are not a person of color? While you are allowed to have your opinions, you really should not comment on experiences that you have not had. Having friends that are people of color, does not explain the experience of all. While I am not saying Pres Leshin is any where in the right, you are not either. You are both on opposite side of the continuum.

Bad Media is promoting lies and false information. The black lives matter movement that took place at WPI, was no where near as big as the people you have in the video.

“Second, how can you speak on the experience of a person of color, if you are not a person of color? While you are allowed to have your opinions, you really should not comment on experiences that you have not had.”

I didn’t see anything in the article where the author was trying to speak for a black person. And just because I didn’t experience some non-existent “400 years of slavery” doesn’t mean I can’t comment about it. The only thing holding black people back are themselves. We are all ultimately responsible for ourselves and our behavior. Perhaps people need to quit playing the blame game and fix themselves and their communities.

4th sentence in the beginning of her e-mail; “And I know I’m not alone — these senseless shootings have left many of us horrified and disturbed, and have contributed to increased racial tensions across the country.”

Senseless shootings? Really now. All but one was legit to my count. And the one that seemed not justified is where that Cop is facing the music big time.

So Madam President are you telling us that the Michael Brown shooting was senseless? Senseless whereas he was lunging after a Police Officer’s gun, physically larger than the Police Officer who would have no doubt lost that battle to retain his weapon then using his weapon as trained to protect himself is senseless? What is senseless is Cops getting shot and killed sitting in their cruisers like what just happened earlier TODAY in Des Moines, Iowa!

My point is that this is some one sided shit there Laurie Leshin and THAT contributes to increased racial tensions across the country – Not Police doing a job that most people would not want to do these days. Get it straight.

A lot of alumns aren’t donating for a variety of reasons, but this can be added to the list. I got a first class education at WPI, but I wont donate until they stop treating it as a business and starts treating it as a place for education. For what it is worth, there are a lot of black students at WPI, and the school encourages them to separate themselves through a variety of means including having them come early freshman year and make friends with each other before the “white kids” get there. They also accept a lot of minority students with lower test scores, gpas, and frankly lower work ethic than the general student body. They claim that we should be proud of the increasing diversity, but what about the decreasing educational standards? College applications and scholarship applications should be completely blinded – names blacked out so no one can see your gender or guess your ethnicity. Let the most qualified candidates in, regardless of whether they are a ‘minority’.

If true, Leshin has embarrassed WPI . Black men continue to commit the bulk of violent crime in Chicago and elsewhere and thuggin continues to be glorified by rap. Everyone, most importantly most in the black community, fail to acknowledge and especially take responsibility for their very own actions.
