Can you believe it’s been a year since this dress broke the Internet for 24 hours?
Anyone who says this dress isn’t fascinating is a filthy liar. First of all, it’s still blue. Always has been. But I still didn’t get it until I looked at this picture yesterday. Mrs. Turtleboy sees white and gold and Turtleboy sees blue and black. But yet when we look at this picture of the dress as it transists from white to blue, we see the same exact thing. How can that be?
Then I did something that blew my mind and you should try it too. Take your hands and cover up the blue dress on the right and the white dress on the left, leaving only the dress in the middle uncovered.
Mind blown. It turns blue and black. Right in front of my eyes. That’s insane. Science is awesome. The dress is blue. The truth will set you free. Facts only.
Here’s my question that hasn’t been answered – how come this doesn’t happen more often? This isn’t the first time society has come across these sort of color combinations. Like this:
We all see a white and gold power ranger there right? So clearly my eyes are capable of seeing those two colors together in the light. So…..what’s up with that?
Anyway, our take from a year ago still stands the same – anyone who thought this whole thing was overblown is a dooshnozzle. It was one of the most fascinating displays of science I’ve ever seen.

Man oh man if I had a woman that wore that unbelievably ugly dress – I’d set myself on fire.
I don’t see black and blue. I must be racist. Don’t tell Clive.
Bill sees opportunity
Why are we still talking about this ugly fucking dress?
Yaaaaaawn. Sorry TB. This was lame a year ago, and even more lame today.
It’s funny you brought this up today, because I was just thinking about it today too…..I had no idea it’s been a year, but I was thinking how transitory things are these days–this was absolutely amazing–not only was it a very interesting phenomena, but it had never been noticed before. You’d think with billions of people and bajillions of pictures floating around someone would have noticed it before. Then again, maybe someone did, before the Internet, and we just never heard about it.
