Washington Post: Nervous and distraught, Earledreka White did the only thing she thought she could to allay her fears after being stopped by a police officer in Houston: She called 911 to report the traffic stop and asked for police backup. White’s voice was so shaky that she stuttered when trying to give the emergency dispatcher their location, a medical plaza parking lot outside the Loop 610 near downtown Houston. Next to her stood an officer with Houston’s Metro Police Department, waiting while she made the call in the doorway of her sedan.
“He’s saying I crossed over a solid line and I did not,” White told the dispatcher. “I got out of the car to ask him what the offense was. He raised his voice at me and threatened to arrest me. So I’m really confused. And I would like another officer to come out here. “My heart is racing. I’m really afraid.”
Video of the March 31 traffic stop has become another Rorschach test for people to calibrate their divided views on police practices in the United States. Attorneys for White said the footage clearly shows the Houston police officer escalated the confrontation, unprompted. As the video spread online Thursday, some said the incident was yet another example of excessive police force being used against African Americans.
So let’s just review what happened here that has social justice warriors all up in arms:
- Woman crosses double yellow lines and gets pulled over
- Woman is told to stay in car but gets out anyway
- Woman is asked to provide license and registration, which is required by law, and she flat out refuses
- Woman demands to speak with another cop, because apparently we have the right to decide which cops can and can’t pull us over
- Cop patiently waits as woman calls 911 (on the cop) and ignores him for three minutes
- Cop finally goes in to arrest her and she resists (because you have the right to resist arrest)
- Woman then complains about “violent” arrest, which is only “violent” because she is actively resisting said arrest
Honestly, I love when I see videos like this. I love when Shaun King and company choose the worst of the worst to get behind, because it just proves what a joke they are. Keep it up BLM, you’re making the cop’s point for them. Check out what Shaun King wrote on his Facebook page:
Oh I see. So she has a job and pulls her pants up, therefore rules and laws do not apply to her. Sounds like racism to me!! And anyone who watched that video and thinks she was brutalized ate too many paint chips as a kid. The Officer could’ve arrested her earlier on, but he let her ignore him for three minutes before he realized that she wasn’t gonna calm down, and he finally went to put her in cuffs. When he attempted to put her in cuffs she actively resisted. So how would Shaun King suggest he place her under arrest without getting physical? I’d love to hear it.
And just check out the way the Washington Post wrote their story to see exactly how the media is misleading the American public:
“Earledreka White did the only thing she thought she could to allay her fears after being stopped by a police officer in Houston: She called 911 to report the traffic stop and asked for police backup”
Or she could’ve just sat in her car, presented her ID, and then fought the ticket in court if she felt it was unjustified. No, sorry, that’s just Turtleboy whitesplaining it with his privilege. He wouldn’t understand.
“I have never been treated like this in my life”
But wait…..what about “institutional racism?” If this is a real thing wouldn’t this law abiding woman have been treated like this routinely? Because the police and institutions in power are inherently racist? You mean to tell me she’s been treated well her entire life despite the fact that she’s black? So much for that “Institutional Racism” thing.
And of course they call the arrest “violent.” Newsflash – there was nothing violent about that arrest. Arrests are NOT pretty when the person being arrested is resisting. But of course America’s most widely read newspaper is framing it as “violent.” This is why people think that cops are out of control – because the media is controlling the narrative.
So many great quotes from our girl Earledreka too. Like when she tells the dispatcher, “He is asking for my license.” You mean a cop was following routine procedure and asking for you license? That’s racist!!!! And then you had two choices – 1) give him your license, 2) don’t give him your license. Naturally you chose the one that would lead to your arrest, and then you acted genuinely shocked when you had to deal with the consequences. You are really, really smart Earledreka!!!
Of course many in BLM are saying that this is profiling. Because white people don’t get pulled over for crossing lines:
Except Turtleboy is white and he’s been pulled over for marked lines violations. It’s how police catch drunk and distracted drivers. Ya see, those lines? They’re not for show. They’re there so you don’t cross them and kill innocent people. Oops, I’m sorry, that’s just my white privilege talking again. Pardon me while I check my WP in the overhead compartment.
Think of the precedent black lives matter is trying to set. All you have to do is say you’re scared of the cops and you don’t have to follow commands. The “I’m scared of the cops” excuse has been used to justify Korryn Gaines pulling a shotgun on the cops, Freddie Grey running from the cops (because he was selling poison to the most vulnerable people in the black community), and now this.
Then there’s this:
Newsflash – she was not arrested for resisting arrest exclusively. This was the LAST charge that was added. She was arrested for getting out of her car and refusing to provide ID and registration. Of course this moron thinks that the only charge is resisting arrest because this is what Shaun King tells his followers she was arrested for.
And I’m sorry, but what kind of moron gets out of the car when they’re pulled over? I’ve been pulled over plenty of times before. Literally NEVER even once considered opening up the door. Who does that? I’ve been pulled over for something I genuinely believed I didn’t do. This is why after I smiled and accepted my ticket I immediately appealed it. This is generally a more effective strategy then trying to argue with the cop who is pulling you over.
Here’s the best part – this happened in March. The tapes were reviewed and the officer was fully exonerated for doing his job. And the police chief who reached this conclusion? She’s a black woman.
Ya got that? A black woman in Texas is the chief of police, and she reached the conclusion that the crazy lady was arrested because she was an asshole, not because she’s black. So much for institutional racism. Facts – the kryptonite of the black lives matter terrorist group. Stupid facts!!!
