Two weeks ago Bristol Blarney and Joa “Grundlestiltskin” Orga conspired to report videos from the TB YouTube channel for copyright infringement. I got 2 copyright strikes for it, and when you get 3 your channel is shutdown. That would suck because the Live show has become a revenue generating part of the business, so I filed a counterclaim/appeal. This gave them both 10 days to prove that to YouTube that they court complaints filed against me for copyright. Joa Orga failed to do that so the video he had removed was restored. But Kate actually wrote up a fraudulent, non-existent lawsuit that she claimed to have filed in federal court, and submitted it to YouTube. She forgot to change the docket number of the 2013 case she used as a template, but it didn’t matter because no one at YouTube actually looked into it. It looked like she was gonna get away with it and the channel’s days were numbered.
Then this happened.
I got all the videos restored and there are no longer any strikes on the channel. Good guys win.
But the problem that arose out of this was the channel was demonetized for “reused content.”
What this means is there will no longer be ads on our videos, and people can’t donate through the super chat function. I can reapply in 30 days to get monetization back. The loss of the ads is no biggie because it’s only like $20 a month, but the super chat donations have become an important part of keeping the business afloat.
Well, I’m not the kind of guy to throw in the towel. Ever since I created Turtleboy I’ve had one hurdle after another thrown in front of me and I’m still her. Because I always figure out a way to survive. In this case we just found a way around it by sharing the PayPal Fundrazr campaign in the comments, acknowledged donors in real time, and read the messages they wrote.
And guess what? PayPal only takes 5%, whereas Google took 30% of all donations. This is how fucking stupid tech companies like Google are. They’re losing out on free money to appease ratchet deadbeat Moms like Kate Peter. People were telling him that failed rapist Josh Abrams was laughing about the channel being demonetized, but guess what? This actually worked out much better because of PayPal charges much less than YouTube does. So once again our detractors have failed and the turtle lives to see another day. I talked about it on the Live show the other night, starting at the 18:00 mark.
