The long and short of it is that their timesheets from our most recent Freedom of Information Act request were the nail in the coffin. They had until December 31 to show that they could pay their employees on time by getting a new line of credit, and then show the check registers. They failed to do that because they think rules don’t apply to them.

The 11 hour work days for Michael Jerry were the beginning of the end. After all, he logged in 11 hours on April 14, 2015, but was outside City Hall protesting for the Kelley Square 4 on that same date, during the hours in which he claimed to be doing hypertension work. And he was too stupid to realize that he probably shouldn’t be quoted in the newspaper if he’s on the clock at the expense of the taxpayers.

But the kick in the balls for Ed Augustus must’ve been this:

How betrayed must he feel? He tried playing the good, white, progressive, social justice warrior. He kept throwing money at an organization, simply because he was too gutless to go after them for fear of being called racist. And then they betrayed him by announcing to the world that they were playing on his white guilt. Brenda Jenkins’ own son bragged on Facebook about how he was scheming the city out of tens of thousands of dollars by finding a couple of “dumb n words” that were trying to change their lives, all while playing off of Ed’s white guilt. Seriously, they violated rule number one of white guilt – don’t talk about white guilt.

As usual, the People’s City Councilor Michael Gaffney is going after them at this Tuesday’s meeting. He’s pushing for a full audit of the time sheets, not the bootleg, fake audit we got last time. We’re also pushing the state to investigate, and they have shown an active interest. It’s insane that they’ve gotten away with it for this long.

So many people to thank, but we could not have done this without Councilors Gaffney, Konnie Lukes, and Gary Rosen. This is why democracy can work if the people make the government work for them. We’d also like to thank Turtleboy Nation, especially all of you who sent emails to and called Ed Augustus’ office. They were flooded with hundreds of angry calls and emails. They had an emergency meeting with the city’s legal department. They realized they couldn’t hide anymore. They realized Turtleboy wasn’t gonna let it go. They realized that the people they were covering for were spitting in their face.

Ed Augustus still needs to resign. He has shown that he is unfit for the job of City Manager with his failure to plow city roads, towing people’s cars and then reimbursing $40,000 with taxpayer money, trying to turn Chandler ballfields into a parking lot, and covering up for a criminal enterprise.
