Spanky McFarlane is just trolling Turtleboy at this point:

Here’s the gist of his article – Twitter has suspended hundred of thousands of accounts of people promoting terrorism. This is a good thing. But it’s also a bad thing because it allows “hate speech” which is on the same level as terrorism. Anything that can be called “Islamophobic” or hurts people’s feelings is classified as hate speech, and thus is equally as bad as terrorism. Hurt feelings = hundreds of dead people. Facebook should take these pages down. Turtleboy is obviously hate speech, but the TBS page was suspended for pornography, when it SHOULD have been suspended for hate speech.

That’s the article in a nutshell. Let’s check out some excerpts:

But while Twitter and other social networks have been aggressive in shutting down accounts promoting terrorism, they have seemingly been less eager going after accounts promoting racism and bigotry. Included in Facebook’s “Statement of Rights and Responsibilities,” for example, are the following guidelines: 

“You will not bully, intimidate, or harass any user. You will not post content that: is hate speech, threatening, or pornographic; incites violence; or contains nudity or graphic or gratuitous violence.”

Yet, as reported by Global Voices, a community of more than 1,400 writers, analysts, online media experts, and translators involved with citizen media reporting since 2005, Facebook has been hesitant in shutting down questionable accounts, such as Pegida Macedonia, which the group said promotes Islamophobia in Macedonia.

Never heard of Pegida Macedonia before. So we went to the page, which has all of 228 followers. Ya got that? Clive is writing a column about hate speech taking place in Macedonia with the influence to spread to 228 people. And FYI, this is the “Islamophobia” he is referring to:

Speaking out against unrestricted immigration? Supporting a major party candidate for President in the United States? Suggesting that religious tolerance should be a two way street? This is what people consider “hate speech” in 2016. This is the kind of thing Clive and his friends want to see censored. Except they haven’t had much luck shutting this page down:

“Though many Macedonian users regularly report hateful posts via Facebook’s “Report Abuse” mechanism, much of the content they report remains live,” the group said. “Over the last several years, Facebook has rarely removed a page, group, post or event when it has been reported for spreading discrimination or hate speech, even in cases when such postings included direct threats to individuals or groups.”

Wah, wah, wah!! We’re trying to shut this page down for hate speech but it won’t work!! We even hit the report abuse button instead of just not following this irrelevant page. How can we spread our Fascism and oppression if Facebook isn’t going to help out?

And he can’t be serious when he says that “Facebook has rarely removed a page, group, post or event when it has included direct threats to individuals or groups.” Because Turtleboy Sports gets suspended for this:

Someone better tell Ed Augustus to take down the Turtleboy statue, since apparently Facebook classifies it as “sexual acts.”

Last week, for example, Rachel Maddow on her MSNBC show pointed to Steve Bannon, the man Donald Trump picked to be CEO of his campaign, the executive chairman of the Breitbart News Network, a conservative news and opinion website. Maddow noted that during his reign at Breitbart, Bannon oversaw an editorial climate that allows his editors to send racist tweets like the following:

“British settlers and their descendants built civilization. Indians never bothered to build more than a few teepees.”

Newsflash – that is not a racist tweet. It’s a scientific fact. But the problem is that it’s right leaning, and everything that leans to the right is hate speech now and must be censored.

After that Clive did what he always does – shows the world that he has turtle on the brain:

Much closer to home, community members have long complained how some social media consistently peddle hate speech targeting women, the poor and people of color. During Worcester’s Community Dialogues on Race last year, Mayor Joe Petty and Attorney General Maura Healey both empathized with those affected by hate speech on social media. Nevertheless, as one resident said during one of the sessions on race, “”Legally, I’m told he (one such blogger) can do it.”

First of all, we call out dooshnozzles of all shapes and sizes. Just ask the nudniks in West Warwick, RI, or the countless other white people who have acted a fool and made it onto our blogs. The resident that he is speaking of is our girl WANDA, who may or may not have Asian chicks hidden in her basement:

Free them Asian chicks!!!

This is the moron that Spanky McFarlane just quoted. A perpetually unemployed and illiterate woman with a broken caps lock button from Hooper Street. Who can forget her impassioned speech at the Department of Justice Race Discussions, in which she cried about a blogger hurting her feelings whom she has threatened on multiple occasions:

Classic. I don’t like how Turtleboy is being critical of my public statements at government sanctioned events. You should arrest him, or at least suspend his civil liberties.

Interestingly enough, Facebook suspended the account of one local blogger last week, not for hate speech but for promoting pornography. According to Facebook, the blog appeared to have violated its community standards, which restrict the display of nudity and sexual activities, and content that promotes sexual violence or exploitation. One wonders, however, when the pain and suffering caused by hate speech will become as legitimate a concern as that which comes from speech promoting terrorism and pornography.

HAHAHHAHAH!!! Do you see what he did there? He’s arguing that Turtleboy Sports SHOULD have been taken down, but that it was taken down for the wrong reasons – pornography. In reality it SHOULD have been taken down for “hate speech” because of all the “pain and suffering” it has caused. This is the the moral equivalent to “promoting terrorism.”

It’s so ironic that Clive would advocate for the censorship of hate speech. First of all, he’s a columnist. They should value free speech more than anyone. Secondly, Clive McFarlane is by far the biggest purveyor of hate speech that Worcester has ever seen. When Councilor Michael Gaffney was reelected in November, Clive wrote this:

“Every time he swings that gavel in the people’s chamber, it will likely resonate among the city’s community of color with the sting of a slave master’s whip.”

He literally compared a city councilor who has made a name for himself by cutting down on wasteful spending, to a slave master whipping his slaves. He wrote that and the Karen Webber his the publish button. This is what actual hate speech looks like.

Anyway, since Facebook is basically a free for all and anyone can report anyone for anything, we have started to mass report the Turtlegram’s Facebook page for things that we consider hateful or pornographic. Starting with today’s column from Spanky McFarlane, which we hit “report,” “I think it shouldn’t be on Facebook,” and “It’s pornography.” 

If hundreds of people do this it will eventually get taken down. And since we stand against hate speech at Turtleboy Sports, we urge others to take 30 seconds out of your day to do the same.  We cannot allow people to read this hate speech any longer!! And honestly, it sounds like he was behind our page getting taken down. The Turtlegram knows we’re a threat. They have the motive to maliciously try to take down our page, and clearly they have fired first. This is war. Strap up Turtleboy Army!!
