Just an update on the ongoing Spencer-East Brookfield story – the principal of David Prouty, Eileen Belastock, has not been in school for two weeks straight now. Ya got that? In the middle of a ongoing public spectacle, in which students STILL have crumbling textbooks, leaky ceilings, and a plethora of unfunded none-existent student activities, she decides not to come to school. At all. Oh yea, and two weeks ago David Prouty recently hired a new Vice Principal – the fourth one in the last five months. So in his entire working career at David Prouty he has never once been in the building at the same time as his boss.
Sounds like things continue to go GREAT out there. Lots of improvement!!!
We don’t know the reason why the principal hasn’t been there, but unless she’s gravely ill, there’s no excuse for it. You come to work when you have a brand new VP and a student body in crisis.
Here’s the thing though – she’s done this before at other schools. In March of 2015 she abruptly resigned amidst a scandal as principal of Winthrop High School. You know who resigns from a school in March? People who were about to be fired. The year was almost over. All she had to do was mail it in the last three months, get her money, and then move on. But instead she left in March. Anyone with a brain looks at this and realizes that clearly the district had something on her and wasn’t going to allow her to finish the year.
Guess what she did the week before she resigned?
“Belastock handed in her resignation on Monday, March 16 after she had been absent the week before.”
Well, that’s just great!!!
Previous to that she was principal at King Philip Regional (Wrentham-Plainville), for two years, before abruptly resigning in 2013. Seeing a pattern yet?
Oh, and get this – Superintendent Tracy Crowe uses a handicapped placard, despite the fact that she is not handicapped. Sweet parking job at the last School Committee meeting:
LOL. Every time I read about this district and hear from the poor kids, parents, and teachers who are subjected to this nonsense, it makes me thank my lucky stars that I don’t live in Spencer or East Brookfield. Here you have an openly corrupt superintendent and school board chairman, who seemingly don’t give a shit that they look like total dooshcanoes to everyone who is watching. And just to show you how many fucks she doesn’t give, she’s parking her Audi in handicapped spots.
Oh yea, and at the last SC meeting the union president Mark James submitted a petition that the SC investigate why 75% of administrators in the district have left voluntarily in the last calendar year. Kevin Hayes told the Telegram yesterday that he’s not gonna be investigating squat, because as you know, everything is sunshine and rainbows in the SEBRSD. As a matter of fact, they won’t even bring it up on the agenda at all, because Kevin Hayes hates unions and simply will not allow himself to lose a pissing match to some lowly teacher.
Missing principals, superintendents parking in handicapped spaces, and a School Committee that won’t investigate major issues but will investigate imaginary missing money that they misappropriated in the first place. And meanwhile the empty promises of books, show choir, band, and student council continue to make life sucky for the poor kids who have the misfortune of going to school at David Prouty. Just another day in the functional school district of Spencer-East Brookfield!!
Turtleboy will not rest with this story until Hayes is removed from office and Crowe resigns and finds a new job somewhere else.

Come on common sense isn’t so common,that’s when I went to Prouty. It wasn’t that bad. We were all busy with extracurricular activities. We had lots of them back in the good old days. The only reason we went to South was to do burn outs in your parking lot. God knows we never would have gone in your pool.
Spencer… White trash paradise… If u went to South high in the mid to late 80’s you want to Spencer on a Friday night to get laid if things where slow around the city…love them hoes!!
Belastock didn’t leave her job at KP abruptly. She left for a new position at Winthrop. She was advancing her career.
Wonder how that new position in Winthrop worked out since she applied for the Bellingham High School principal position . She was one of two finalists, that would lead me to believe she just decided to up and leave the Winthrop position or she was forced to resign, don’t see much of an advancement there.
This makes my blood boil.
Is there ANY person in these towns smart enough to take this situation to a higher level? SERIOUSLY parents — WTF? Or are they just going to stand around with the hands in their pockets and whine????
I would have called the police to have a nice ticket placed on the vehicle. My mother, who is handicapped, would have blocked her in with her car with hand controls and an HP plate.
