Tonight there’s gonna be a meeting of business owners in the Canal District about the problems caused by the Mambo Drinks nightclub and the crowd it purposely attracts. One of Mambo Drink’s employees is this man:

Jonathan Pena MIGHT BE related to Juan Pena, the owner of Mambo Drinks. There are pictures of Jonathan all over his Facebook page getting mad crunk at Mambos!!!

The problem is that he also posted this picture of his Franklin Pierce ID:

If you’re doing the math he is 20 years old. He’s not legally allowed to drink. Yet this licensed bar is allowing him to not only be the club promoter, but to get wasted an pose in in pictures that they then use for advertising. That alone is enough to get them shut down. You can’t serve liquor to minors in your establishment and maintain your liquor license. Of course Jonathan Pena and company will just complain about imaginary racism instead of owning up to the fact that they’re breaking the law.

He also doesn’t think it’s right that Mambo Drinks is being blamed for the 100 person brawl that occurred the other night:

Screen Shot 2016-08-04 at 2.15.16 PM

According to him it’s not Mambo’s fault because the fights took place AFTER club hours. They just court violent gang bangers and get them liquored before releasing them onto Water Street at 2 in the morning.

Screen Shot 2016-08-04 at 2.15.35 PM

Oh, and before the night in question Jonathan was bragging about how this party at Mambo’s was about to “shut the city down.”

Screen Shot 2016-08-04 at 2.17.17 PM

Mambo Drinks must go. It will be a pleasure to add them to the TBS graveyard. What more does the city of Worcester need to see before they take action? They’re courting gang bangers and allowing underage liquor consumption in their bar. Open and shut case.

Now I have to troll Facebook and look up Juan, to see if he’s as hot as Melvin, lol. And I thought I was done with work today. Also, its not Mambo’s fault. It’s not the location, or the underage drinkers, which someone else rightfully stated, is all over the city. Worcester has a big latin population, so a club with cool latin music would be a great idea. It’s the fact that most of Worcester, MA population between the ages of 18-28, don’t know how to act. Throw in some hip hop or latin music, and there’s going to be a fight. Its just a fact. Mambo’s will get shut down. And a boring bar that has peanuts and the Sox game will take it’s place.

How stoopid is this pussyfart? Posting your own underage ID and pics of you drinking in the establishment?? Reminds me of the dumb bastard who robbed a bank by writing the robbery note on his own personal deposit slip from the same bank, complete with his full name, account number, and home address, not too hard to find!! The cops found him at his own kitchen table counting the cash!!

This is the same kind of shit that happened in Brockton with a club called ‘Progressions’. People fighting en masse, getting stabbed and shot. Eventually, the city got wise and shut the joint down. Let’s hope the same happens here to this third world country club.

Honestly, every bar on that streets serves underage. If that’s going to be your basis to shut them down, then you might as well shut down the rest of the bars as well. I can tell you for a fact I was served underage at all the bars on that street when I was under 21. You can’t complain about this bar and then complain about the crazy old guy that tries to shut down that Amherst event every year. No, they’re not gang bangers there but they’re still drunk, disorderly and get into fights. If you’re trying to shut them down for being overcapacity (like whiskey on water) or over serving alcohol their patrons or another reason, then yes I can agree but every bar is guilty of serving minors, don’t turn a blind eye to some because they advertise on your blog.

The dude posted a picture of him blatantly breaking the law. Don’t blame everybody else. If Mambo gets shut down, it should be a lesson in personal accountability.

Lets try reason; if there are going to be continuous riots in the streets after hours due to Mambo crowds/and/or patrons, it’s going to hurt the entire Canal district. There are many restaurant and bar owners that have invested heavily in the development of that area, not to mention really hard working folks that have immigrated here from other parts of the world that have settled in and around the Millbury Street area for the last several decades. Eventually, these kinds of incidents will even hurt Mambo’s business, as individuals will not want to frequent an establishment where violence is almost a guaranteed certainty. In addition, I’m sure Mambo’s ownership has invested heavily in the business, and doesn’t want to pay for any additional security detail in the building for long period of time, not to mention for property damage incurred. If, as your name suggests, you value Mambo as a place to go, then you should try to improve it by making it safer and ensuring that the kind of clientele willing to stab each other and assault police officers are not regularly attending.

Honesty don’t care about mambos, I always use burner emails and fake names. Never been to mambos and don’t plan on going. With that said I don’t frequent Worcester bars either since my college days a couple years ago and tend to go to Boston. Bars that attract Latin customers also have a hard time staying open in this area for a long time as seen at Club U and Amsterdan/International when they had Latin nights for the same reasons (underage drinking, violence and such). I don’t blame Mambo ownership too much though as they’re obviously Latin owned and just want a place for that culture to exist and have a good time but unfortunately that always comes with problems sooner or later. I would like them to be forced to add extra security and be monitored more closely on a probationary period. I don’t think any business owner would willingly want to attract gang bangers and such as it might be a quick buck for a while but business will shut down pretty quickly.

How about this, the joint has a gang connection in that it is gang money that is behind the operation?

Never ceases to amaze me, the more digging, the more shit we find out about the so called establishment. 2 major issues- known gang member hangout and underaged drinking. And a photo that proves the underaged drinking. Priceless. Shut it down now!

The city has already forced other problem bars to shut down well before the 2am closing time, and forced the bars to have a police detail.

That shithole is far beyond that, it should be shut down immediately

What I got out of this is how did that kid get accepted to Franklin Pierce University?

      • I mambo, you mambo, he she it mambos
        August 5, 2016 at 12:34 pm

He got accepted the same way all the other underage alcohol drinking population of college students did. What exactly has this guy done that’s different from every other college student drinking underage? There’s millions of pictures of underage drinking happening in college campus’ all around the country on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Is he actively promoting violence and drugs? No, he’s not. Don’t even give me that “shut the place down” crap because that has a very different connotation then what this middle age Turtleboy thinks. He’s promoting for a club that he obviously has ties in and gets a little pocket money, no different then the upper class kid who has a job at the country club his dad owns. I know Turtleboy has snooped throughout his page and if underage drinking is the worst he can find, it’s not too bad. Isn’t this the same Turtleboy who writes about drinking when he was at South High and running away from the cops? Again, there are other valid reasons to get Mambo’s to close and limit their liquor license but don’t go after a 20 year old who’s doing what every other 20 year old is doing because he has ties to the club.

The difference is that TB was drinking in the woods behind South High, or in the woods on Newton Hill, or where ever. He wasn’t bragging all over the internet about getting sloshed in a bar when he’s underage.

And if the other bars on Water Street are serving underage people, then they should be shut down, too. But, unlike with Mambo, we don’t have irrefutable proof of your allegation.
