Oh well. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t really enjoy the last 48 hours of constantly checking my phone for updates and rumors about Kevin Durant. It was a blast and I’m happy for once that the Celtics were at least part of the discussion. Baby steps. We also learned a valuable lesson – don’t bring your transgender center named Kelly to a major free agent meeting.
Lesson learned. Legends only. They had Tom Brady and Bill Russell there. Clearly the missing ingredient was Ted Williams frozen corpse.
Seriously though, this is a terrible look for Durant. Before he did this he was the good guy. He was the common man’s only hope against a league where superstars unite and only a couple teams have any shot at winning. He nearly pulled the most legendary upset in NBA history this year before OKC choked away a 3-1 lead against Golden State. He had every reason to return to OKC to get revenge, and if he wasn’t gonna play in Boston we were looking forward to seeing him go back to OKC. But instead he pussed out and joined the squad he couldn’t beat. What a bitch move.
And just for the record this is a MILLION times worse than anything LeBron James has ever done, and Durant should take way more shit for it as a result. Bron-Bron didn’t join the Heat because he couldn’t beat them. In fact, Cleveland was a much better team than Miami (because of him) before he went to South Beach. Does this mean we have to root for Bron-Bron? I just don’t have it in me to do that.
But the fact of the matter is that Golden State is probably going to be unstoppable now, considering they set the NBA record for wins and just signed a former MVP. I guess the Spurs are the team we have to root for since they’re the only other team that has ANY shot at winning? But rooting for the Spurs is boring as shit, plus they win all the time too.

I mean, that graphic says it all. One team has a better chance of winning the whole thing than the rest of the league combined. And even the Spurs are a relative long shot. Christ, we have the fourth best chance now!!! Damnet, it would’ve been so much better for us and the league in general to have him come to the Celtics. At least it looks like we SHOULD be making the Eastern Conference Finals before inevitably losing to a team full of superstars. It will be like the 2002 Antoine Celtics all over again.

I was an NBA fan until I think it was 2009 and I found myself in Las Vegas for the All Star game. Every hood rat from East L.A to Compton flooded the strip. Metro had over 1000 arrests and the city vowed never again. No reciprocity there so I couldn’t legally carry, I mostly stayed in my hotel room. Fortunately it was at a high end joint they couldn’t afford on stolen EBT funds.
Traffic was a nightmare. These upstanding citizens were walking across the strip, stopping in the middle of it and just standing there, yelling at white drivers, daring them to hit them, calling them “honky motherfuckers” and making threats. I didn’t dare take out my cellphone to record, company owns it and I knew I wouldn’t have it for long.
Of course this isn’t the scene at a Celts game nor many others but you don’t see this at baseball or football events (well maybe Dodgers and Giants fans killing each other but there should be more, not less of that to improve traffic). The NBA is played by gangsters for the enjoyment of gangsters, I could care less who wins or loses.

The NBA is pretty much unwatchable with its greedy streetball play. D1 college ball may be the NBA’s unpaid minor leagues, but at least many still play a team game.
