The Golden State Warriors won their third championship in four years and it’s absolutely meaningless. Everyone knew they were gonna win before the season began. They were the best team two years ago and then they went and added Kevin Durant, a top 3 player in the league. Remember when Karl Malone joined the Bulls during the height of the Jordan era? Oh right, that never happened. Because players weren’t pussies back in 90’s. If you couldn’t beat a team you didn’t join them. You just kept trying and ended up angry at the world like Charles Barkley. But it was OK to never win a title, because titles used to be special.
Meanwhile, the LeBron to the Celtics rumors have been heating up and I want ZERO part of it. If we got LeBron next year we might be able to win the whole thing. Might. But who gives a shit? It would be meaningless. Let’s not forget that our best player came here to get away with him. Because he ruins teams. He’s not a Celtic, he’d be a rental. We’d literally be selling our souls (and trading away God knows what in the process) to take on this joke of a human being so he can use us to try to revive his broken legacy of losing in the Finals. Ray Allen won him his second ring and Kyrie Irving won him his 3rd. He can’t win shit without Celtics bailing him out.
Nah, we’re good. The Celtics are young and they’r gonna be peaking right when the Warriors start getting old. I would take Draymond Green or Klay Thompson on this team, because they’re great role players, defenders, and shooters. But I wouldn’t accept Durant or Curry. If we won with those guys it wouldn’t be a real championship. When we do duckboat parades around here it’s with real teams that we built. Even the 08 Celtics EARNED that squad by sucking for so long until we had the assets to TRADE for, not sign, KG and Ray-Ray. The Patriots, Red Sox, and especially the Bruins titles were all organic. Because that’s what we do in Boston – we win shit the right way.
Too bad because I honestly think the Warriors were good enough to win the last 4 championships without Durant. But now that they have him it’s not even really up for grabs. What a pussy.
