The San Antonio Spurs are so good they should play in Boston. Seriously, I don’t understand why San Antonio only has one team and they’re this good for this long. The emasculating facialization that they just spewed all over the Miami Heat was one of the most dominating NBA Finals performances you will ever see. Those teams were outright slaughter.
Local yahoos Felger and Mazz have been saying for years now that they only way to win a championship is with star players. Well then explain to me how the fuck this just happened. Who’s the Top 10 player on this Spurs team? Do they even have a Top 20 player? Maybe Tim Duncan or Tony Parker. Maybe.
But I just watched Kawhi fucking Leonard win the NBA Finals MVP. Seriously a guy named Kawli Leonard just eviscerated LeBron James. Imagine someone named Kawhi Leonard dominating Jordan, or Magic Johnson, or Larry Bird. Or Tim Duncan.
Well the LeBron apologists (and there are MILLIONS) have already gotten their guards up. I look forward to what I get to read tomorrow from clowns like Ethan Sherwood Strauss (ESPN.com). One of these geniuses is Manish Mehta from the New York Daily News. I’m pretty sure we’re gonna see a lot of shit like this tomorrow:
See now they’re starting with this shit. Why does he NEED some superstar around him? Please tell me that. He just lost to a team with no superstars and a guy name Kawhi just won the Finals MVP. And he needs a point guard? Newsflash – the NBA hasn’t been a point guard driven league in years. Dirk didn’t need a point guard. MJ didn’t. Kobe didn’t. Rajon Rondo might be the best point guard to win a title in the last 10 years and he was a fourth wheel.
Manish Mehta is a clown reporter. And if you work in sports media, and you’re not ripping LeBron right now then you are too. I don’t care that he went for 31 and 10 tonight. The Spurs went on a 51-20 run while he was on the court. He finished the game a -16; a game in which LeBron was talking about actually touting as the beginning of a legendary comeback.
Gimme a break dude. Great players inspire everyone around them to do better. LeBron obviously can’t do that. As long as he gets his, who cares if he can’t stop the other team from scoring?
Got into with this clown from Celtics LIfe….
How about he should’ve thought of that before talking about winning seven championships in Miami. Not seven? More like two bro. He really thought he was gonna win that many. Forgot to factor in that Wade was in his late 20’s, and he’d be 36 by then, IF they won every single year. because God knows that just showing up should be good enough right?
Either way, picture a piss poor surrounding cast stopping MJ from winning. LeBron is a great player and all, but for whatever reason he can’t make people around him better like even Kobe can.
People that can’t understand why LeBron isn’t likable need to wake up and face reality. This is a guy who did this to himself. Right away he started diving and crying for calls. Then he got all the endorsements but he won absolutely nothing. Then he went to South Beach with a narcissistic, self-serving “Decision.” Won a championship on his own in 2012, then got bailed out by Ray Allen last year. Maybe fans would be more forgiving if did as he promised and won not one, not two, not three, not four…..
It is impossible to root for a person like this. People that want us to embrace his greatness just don’t get it. There’s nothing to like. What sucks is he is undoubtedly the greatest player in the world. No one’s close, not even Kevin Durant. But there’s something about him that’s just so uninteresting. Maybe it’s cuz he’s a rather boring personality from Akron, Ohio. Regardless, he’s just not a leader. Doesn’t mean he can’t be a great NBA player – but it does mean he can’t be in the same conversation as guys like Magic and Bird. And any comparison to MJ just makes said person look like a nimrod.
Most importantly, he’ll never be in the same league as Bird, Magic, and MJ because those guys never cramped up and had to be carried off the court before, AND those guys never left a Game 4 while play was still going on, in order to take a giant dump. Because LeBron actually did that. He left an NBA Finals to take a King James sized dump. Sure, the apologists will say it’s not his fault. When you have to take an earth shattering smash, you have to take an earth shattering smash. But all I know is no one else is shitting in their pants. Literally. Why is it always him? That’s what people don’t like about him. After a while it’s just not a coincidence any more.
Look, the biggest thing standing in LeBron James’ way isn’t his teammates – it’s getting a real coach. That is by far the best defense LeBron apologists could come up with, but they’re not using it enough. Greg Popovich vs. Eric Spoelstra was completely unfair in retrospect. I mean hell, that was easy. Dwayne Wade was a joke. One bench featured Patty Mills and Manu Ginobili. The other had Mario Chalmers and Birdman. Fucking Birdman.
Most importantly though, the Spurs won their fifth title with Popovich and Duncan. That’s insane. This team is a lot like the Patriots. As I’m writing this I’m watching Pop give a post game press conference and it is the EXACT SAME THING as when Bill Belichick does one. Feeds em shit and keeps them in the dark. Reporters try going in there to get shit out of him and he always has something grizzled and wise to say.
Anyway, the Heat lost. And when the Heat lose America wins. Go America!!

Spurs have threefuture HOF players so get real about Spurs being a team of nobodies or has-beens. Bosh will not make it to the hall, leaving James with two “has-beens” in Wade and Allen. Spurs have a better front office.
Lebron can’t make people better? Have did he get that piss poor Cavs team to the finals, a team that can’t even make the playoffs without him.
