I really can’t believe that I live in a country where thousands of rioters are allowed to burn police stations to the ground with zero consequences, but the cops are busting up driving ranges, churches, gyms, and underground bars. I never, ever, EVER wanna hear anything again about social distancing.
This happens every time the media chooses to write stories about random guys who get killed by the cops. It happens hundreds of times a year, but the stories they choose to focus are the ones that will start riots – when a white cop kills a black guy. And for some reason we’re now conditioned to just give these people space to destroy. People who don’t give a flying fuck about George Floyd. People who were just looking for an excuse to burn shit prior to this.
I’m sorry, but if you choose to participate in a riot you should do so knowing that there’s a good chance you will get killed. The cops have guns and they should use them. Even Davey Crockett went down shooting. When these anarchists start attacking cop cars and burning down police stations with people inside they should be shot. If social distancing worked you don’t need a mask. Social distancing only technically might “work” if you’re inside. So if you “keep your distance” inside you shouldn’t need a mask. I know you’ll never change your mind, but I think a key difference is that many times in the situations you describe, gang violence is involved. In this particular case in Minneapolis, one of the parties involved in the murder was theoretically supposed to be “in charge” and had a form of social authority over the victim. The deaths you spoke of are avoidable, too – I just think that the fact that the police officer being involved in a death that didn’t need to happen is the tragic part – black, white, brown, yellow, red, or green. Also, I know that not all the deaths you speak of are gang violence and there are innocent black people killed by other black people – I think my point still stands, though.
