Want more proof that the Turtleboy Sports Revolution was a HUGE success at the polls on Tuesday? Spanky McFarlane has completely gone off the deep end and is drowning in a sea of butthurt. His column today starts off crying and whining about how unfair it is that Tracy Novick and Hilda Ramirez will no longer be around to make sure students in our schools are free to punch their principals in the face.
The fearmongers added up a number of fights among teenagers at one of the system’s high schools and produced them as evidence the school administration, in order to raise graduation rates, was not kicking out kids who misbehaved. Nothing could have been further from the truth. The fact is more students are being kicked out the Worcester public schools today than at any other time in recent history, so the issue was never about kids not being kicked out of schools, but that too many were unnecessarily being arrested or kicked out.
Oh I see. The problems at North High last year and this year are a result of the school kicking too many assholes out. Because there weren’t nearly enough teachers and principals who got punched in the face last year. Got it.
From that point on he does his usual, unoriginal drivel about how racist the criminal justice system is and the “school to prison pipeline” and blah, blah, blah. But then he apparently lost his mind and couldn’t stop talking about slavery. Instead of congratulating Donna Colorio on her INSANE 2nd place finish after finishing 7th last election, he attacked her because she must be racist. Why else would Turtleboy Sports endorse her candidacy?
Donna Colorio, who runs in tea party circles, received the second most votes in the School Committee race. If she follows the dictates of other tea party school committee members around the country, she will soon be asking for a review of the district’s Advanced Placement U.S. history course to make sure it is “patriotic” enough, such as, is it putting more emphasis on the Founding Fathers and less on slavery?
Yup. We’re fucked now. Donna Colorio is going to make sure that we don’t teach about slavery in schools anymore. This is what Spanky gets paid to do. Write nonsense like this.
Spanky knows the TBS Revolution worked. That’s why he’s freaking out that his girls aren’t on the SC anymore and the Turtleboy Ticket has infiltrated city government. He also readily admits that Gaffney’s second place finish was a DISASTER for the hippies:
Those involved with social justice work in the city, particularly those concerned with “school-to-prison pipeline” discipline policies, should be troubled by the significant support City Councilor Michael Gaffney received at the polls. He took a solid second place in the at-large City Council race. And while he lost the mayoral race to incumbent Joe Petty, he enjoyed robust support there, too. It shouldn’t be lost on us that his candidacy was endorsed by the Worcester police union.
Yup. Gaffney is racist, the cops are racist, and the 8,600 people who voted for Gaffney in Worcester are also racist. Clive used the word ‘solid’ to describe Gaffney’s finish. Because he knows damn well that the TBS Revolution worked, and now he’s getting desperate.
But it’s the way he ended the column that crossed a line that Spanky has never crossed before
It is not an unfair question, because Mr. Gaffney, who is openly dismissive of criminal justice reform advocates in this city and who seemed inclined to turn the public schools into armed encampments, is now the vice chairman of the City Council. And every time he swings that gavel in the people’s chamber, it will likely resonate among the city’s community of color with the sting of a slave master’s whip.
My head almost exploded when I read this this morning. He just called Mike Gaffney a SLAVE MASTER!!! This is what it has come to. A SLAVE MASTER!!! This was not only written by Clive McFarlane, it was then passed onto an editor at the Telegram and they OK’d it. People pay money to read this. It’s gonna get a shitload of clicks though and the Telegram will be able to sell more ad space to potential clients. But don’t worry, Turtleboy Sports is the REAL hate blog in town.
When are people gonna open their eyes and recognize the Telegram and Gazette for what it is – a newspaper that spreads hate and doesn’t report news. Find me a Turtleboy column that’s more offensive than what Spanky just did. You can’t. Clive McFarlane just took 200 years of slavery, including rape, murder and countless other injustices, and compared it to Michael Gaffney – a Worcester City Councilor who favors transparency. That’s a slap in the face to everyone in our country’s history who actually had to endure life as a slave.
Here’s what you can do. Rotmans is a major advertiser for the Telegram:
They spend over $10,000 per month on digital ads. They directly contribute to Clive McFarlane’s salary. We’re not saying you should boycott Rotmans, because boycotts are for hippies. But we’ll be calling them up to let them know exactly what they are paying for. Because they probably don’t even read Spanky’s drivel.
Here’s the contact information for the people who approved of this column today. Feel free to flood their inboxes and let them know that this is why you don’t pay to subscribe to their shitty website anymore.
As usual, this is why people read Turtleboy Sports. Because the alternative is a racist, unoriginal slug rake. There’s a reason Spanky has bee nat the Telegram for 20+ years now. No one else will hire him.
