Yesterday Jimmy Garoppolo became the highest paid player in the NFL. Most people think it was too much money. I disagree. Jimmy G will win multiple Super Bowls and will be the best quarterback in football the moment Tom Brady retires. Next thing you know Ron Borges at the Boston Herald reported this:
Wait…..what? Tom Brady is gonna hold out for more money? This is a guy who’s married to a billionaire and has spent his entire career taking less money than crapy happy, slightly above mediocre quarterbacks like Matthew Stafford, Kirk Cousins, and Derek Carr. Something didn’t smell right. Turns out that’s because it was the fakest of fake news, and the entire thing was a prank which proved just how fake the “real news” media is:
WEEI caller “Nick in Boston” said on the air this morning that he saw Borges’ phone number on Twitter and texted him with a message claiming to be Don Yee, the agent for both Tom Brady and Jimmy Garoppolo. Borges followed that up with a phone call and never doubted that he was talking to Yee rather than a prankster.
“Somebody tweeted Ron Borges’ phone number and I just picked it up and for some reason I just thought, ‘Hey, I’ll text him and say I’m Don Yee.’ And he just went with it for some reason,” Nick in Boston said. “Here’s the funny part. Well, it’s all funny but here’s the funnier part: He tried to call me three times and I just didn’t answer. But then I was just like, whatever, screw it, I’ll just call him and he’s gonna know it’s not Don Yee. But I called him and I was just like, ‘Hey, Ronnie, it’s Don.’”
Nick in Boston indicated that he just wanted to screw around and was surprised at how easy it was to get a hoax story into the newspaper. Nick is probably not as surprised as Borges and his editors are.

Wait……the mainstream media lied about a story that fit their agenda in order to get cheap clicks? Never saw that one coming.
The texts are even better:
“Kyle (Shanahan) is a good kid too.”
Name drop harder Borges. You can’t.
Basically he makes it clear here that the only thing he’s concerned with is being the first one to report this:
Because he wants this ridiculous, unbelievable story to be true so, so badly.
Finally he decided to go with it:
Amazing. Shocking that the Boston Herald is on death’s door.
Of course the dead giveaway should’ve been the fact that Don Yee lives in California, and Nick the caller is a local boob with a 617 number. Oh, and they actually spoke on the phone too. Since Borges is pretending to be chummy with Don Yee you would think that he would at least recognize his voice. Because Don Yee sounds like a wise old mild-mannered man with no hint of a Boston accent:
Nick from Boston would likely have a tough time pulling that one off.
But then again it didn’t really matter because Borges WANTED this story to be true. It goes along with the ESPN Seth Wickersham fake news story, which only cited UNNAMED sources close to the Patriots, that the locker room was in turmoil because Tom Brady didn’t get the “Patriot of the week” award. You just have to assume nothing is true unless you read it on Turtleboy at this point.
The best part is that these people get all hot and bothered any time you mention “fake news.” They just lump you in with Trump and dismiss you outright. Anything that’s not published in a newspaper or a major network’s website is just a fanboy blogger without good “sources.” That’s why other MSM hacks, like SB Nation’s Peter Bukowski, who go home and punch the clown to their blue checkmarks, blamed Patriots fans for “accusing” journalists of lying:
No one loves to accuse journalists of lying more than Patriots fans https://t.co/1UlRsAr2Ep
— Peter Bukowski (@Peter_Bukowski) February 9, 2018
No moron, we’re not accusing him of lying. He’s an actual liar. Here’s his specific wording in the column which has since been pulled:
According to “sources.” Not “a source,” – sources. As in, more than one. That’s just a bold faced LIE. He had one “source,” – a local boob named Nick who was cracking up the whole time while doing it because he couldn’t believe a reporter would be this stupid.
But according to Bukaki this “only proves how conspiratorial Patriots fans are, not how reckless the media is.”
I'm not disputing that's what happened. Lying to the media to prove a point about how bad the media is only proves how conspiratorial Patriots fans are, not how reckless the media is.
— Peter Bukowski (@Peter_Bukowski) February 9, 2018
Actually it proves both. More importantly it proves that we are 1,000% right for being conspiratorial because the MSM is reckless and LIES. The conspiracy talk could’ve been put to rest if Borges had just asked around and verified his sources. Instead he proved us right.
According to Ed Werder Patriots fans “deliberately ruined the reputation of an innocent reporter”:
Congratulations on deliberately ruining the reputation of an innocent reporter and jeopardizing his job for laughs. https://t.co/cbXi9OYFbe
— Ed Werder (@EdwerderRFA) February 9, 2018
First of all, he’s not innocent. He’s been busted for plagiarism before. Secondly, he ruined his own reputation. It would’ve taken five seconds to figure out he was being pranked. But he didn’t do the most basic elements of reporting. And yea, we’re all laughing at him as we rightfully should, especially since the media has a stick up their ass when it comes to the Patriots.
Professional trolls like Mazz were loving it:
— Tony Massarotti (@TonyMassarotti) February 9, 2018
LOL. And this is the moron who mocks New England fans for believing in conspiracies. Tony will pretty much run with any story that shits on the Patriots because he’s Felger’s lacky who isn’t allowed to have actual thoughts of his own, so he markets himself as a professional troll.
It’s also funny because Borges frequently tells people to “do their homework.”
Don't believe that was the case, son. Do your homework.
— Ron Borges (@RonBorges) February 8, 2018
And he points out that Trump is “totally incorrect”:
There's a difference between not being politically correct and being totall incorrect, which Trump is best at https://t.co/YPiAwmv0wE
— Ron Borges (@RonBorges) November 20, 2017
Which Trump often is. But let’s not pretend that the MSM is any different.
Meanwhile Trollin’ Ben Volin was sitting at home crying because no one pranked him:
WEEI has been out for blood lately. Pretty sure they tried to plant a fake story with me last week at the Super Bowl
— Ben Volin (@BenVolin) February 9, 2018
God these people are pathetic.
The bottom line is that Brady is fine, he loves playing for the Pats, he’s perfectly content with his salary, and he’s gonna win the Super Bowl again next year. Life is great, despite the MSM trying to convince us otherwise. God loves us more.
