The other day we wrote about the despicable social justice warriors from the third world town of Royalston who made a huge fuss over blue ribbons to support the police being displayed in the center of the town.
Soon afterwards the two short haired white women on the selectboard voted to take them down because it might offend the imaginary black people who will be cutting through Roylaston on their way from Winchendon to Warwick. It’s just so outrageous it’s not even funny.
Well, look what is also hanging up outside of town hall in Royalston that IS NOT being forced to be taken down:
It’s almost as if black lives matter, but police don’t. If you’re keeping track at home we’ve had two police officers senselessly murdered in the last year in Worcester County (Ron Tarentino and Thomas Clardy). We’ve had zero innocent black people killed by police. As a matter of fact that never happens here. Ever. But yet it’s OK to keep up the black lives matter sign, even though this is the group whose lies directly lead to the assassinations of five cops in Dallas and three in Baton Rouge. That sign is cool. But blue ribbons to support a police department that has done no harm to anyone? Can’t have that because white people who purposely segregated themselves as far away from black people as possible think that it will trigger black people who don’t come to their town. Gotcha.
Look, it’s pretty simple. Blue police ribbons are a good thing, because the police are an organization that exists to protect and serve all people. Those can stay up on government owner property because the police are a government sanctioned organization. It would be like putting up posters for teacher appreciation day. But black lives matter is a radical political organization that blocks highways, kills cops, and issues ridiculous lists of demands in order for them to act like civilized human beings. They are a special interest group, and they don’t represent the people as a whole. The police do. Therefore the “black lives matter” signs on town property in Northampton, Somerville, and Royalston should come down. End of story.

Wow. Name calling and bad facts are quite the combo. This makes me sad for my town. The sign you find offensive is on a person’s lawn. The ribbons taken down were on Town property – end of story. Hang ribbons and place signs as you please. This is a non-issue being made into a…what? The hatred and fear in these comments is really sad.
Here are some places for you to get some actual info.
Everyone knows that no US federal agency has kept track of the number of civilians killed by police nationally so a newspaper in UK started to at this website, The GuardianUS called “The Counted”.
The FBI does have info on law officers killed:
“Preliminary statistics released today by the FBI show that 41 law enforcement officers were feloniously killed in the line of duty, in the US, in 2015. This is a decrease of almost 20 percent when compared with the 51 officers killed in 2014.”
So far, in 2016, 85 officers died in the line of duty and 39 by gunfire. This is from the Officer Down Memorial Page
And civilians are dying at 10XS that rate of officers. 758 civilians were killed by police this year, so far.
Check it out.
“Well, look what is also hanging up outside of Town Hall in Royalston that IS NOT being forced to be taken down.”
The Town of Royalston is famous for regulating what can be done to the historic buildings and fences on the Common. The lawns, not so much. Anyone can put up a blue ribbon on their property. They can’t paint their shutters or door blue.
People are claiming that a recent spate of cop killings means police officers are being “hunted” thanks to the rhetoric of the Black Lives Matter movement, which criticizes racist policing. One MA cop even faked his own shooting amid the hubbub, triggering a city-wide manhunt. But despite the fearmongering headlines, the historical trend shows otherwise.
The number of police officers killed on the job has been steadily dropping for decades .
What is the fuss? If I wear a pink ribbon for Breast Cancer do you get all crazy and say “All cancers matter!!!” I believe #alllivesmatter that is why I support #blacklivesmatter I also support breast cancer research. Do people try to stop the movement to end breast cancer saying “What about prostate cancer! You must hate men! ” Look, #blacklivesmatter is a focus on a specific and pressing problem in a specific population. Get a grip. And, police brutality can affect us all. Look at the unarmed, white deaf guy shot by police getting out of his car in North Carolina . Anyone can get cancer but more women die of breast cancer. If you catch my drift.
Historically, we are living in an era of police safety. Yet fatal encounters of civilians with law enforcement have become commonplace. The past month alone saw 103 people killed by law enforcement. In the first week of September, police killed more civilians than the total number of police officers killed so far this year.
clearly, some black lives don’t matter, they prove it day after day, after day
If I need to get rid of a load of trash, I know where its getting dumped now
amen
That sign is at the front of a private home NOT THE TOWN HALL OR OTHER TOWN OWNED BUILDING. It’s no less an eyesore than the plastic bag ribbons now adorning other private homes. It’s only an eyesore when it’s not agreed with. There are dozens more of the blue ribbons now at private homes than a singular sign. Let’s all just get over ourselves & the need to be right.
fblm blm wlm mlm my life matters to me and i look out for those around me. cops suck but all the people who don’t read and feel like their owed something carry on like tool bags after 17. well their life is forfeited.
A town that regulates the color houses near the center must also have sign regulations and require that a permit be issued.
Is this a legal sign? Of course anyone that publicly requests the removal will be branded as “racist”.
drive through Roylston and look at the houses then try to tell me they have standards. It is like a big trailer park
The problem wasn’t with the blue ribbons it was the fact the the people who put them up put them up in a historic town without permission without a permit. When the selectmen had their first meeting they had already been up for weeks. Thats is usually the amount of time that the permit would allow for them to be up anyway. Thats why they decided not to keep them up. Royalston is historic town. You can only paint you house a certain color and only have a fence of a certain kind. They keep it this way for a reason. It’s historic value.
What historic even has ever taken place in Royalston?
So, if this is true and Royalston has “standards” to maintain histiric value, how is that beautiful, professionally painted historic BLM lawn sign still there?
I would say “BS”. You are just making excuses for this gaggle of idiots.
Historic value and 10 cents only seems to get you a BLM sign in Royalston.
There once were some police assassinations.
Caused by Black Lives Matter exhortations.
Memorial ribbons prohibited.
BLM sign exhibited.
Royalston common now SJW comfort station!
And please do your research about police brutality out in those 3rd world countries, because it’s real. And it happens, not to blacks but to young white females too. Nothing good comes out of those parts.
Sorry, BLM has zero to do with police in other countries. Other than that you are correct, and it’s more than just the police.
Hey Jessica grow up, get your facts straight stupid!
According to the FBI blacks kill blacks and white police officers kill more white people than black by a 5 to 1 ratio, so the bullshit you are trying to peddle is just that bullshit get your facts straight before you blow smoke dumb dumb!
The BLM sign is on private land turtleboy. Get your facts straight. They can have that sign on their lawn as lomg as they want. That is not the town office.
Hopefully, Royalson-private-property-owners-2 will display a blue ribbon.
You forgot that two cops were assassinated in NYC not long after Ferguson solely because of BLM retribution.
at this point, black lives just annoy me
actually, in this case, it’s #somewhitelivesshouldntmatter
Wow Fiesty. Are we seeing before our eyes a total meltdown because I busted you? So now you come on here with this screen name? I think it’s time for you to go away and get some help. Still no empathy for a sociopath. People make decisions and you made the wrong one. Best of luck – you are human and humans can be fixed.
The lengths that some white people will go to in order to assuage their imaginary white guilt is astonishing.
It’s not imaginary – these morons really are feeling guilty for the heinous sin of being born white.
Me – I’m still waiting for my white privilege check to come. Must be held up at the post office. Thanks Obama…
(Reading this from my safe space) I was so pissed reading this. Then I read AJ’s comment and now feel confident that I can come out of my safe space. There ARE rational, smart, actually brilliant people in the world! Let’s all take pause to thank Obama for endorsing the BLM terrorists by not taking a real stand against his brothers and sisters.
We should charter a bus and send a load of hood rats up there for a day or so. Then maybe they would appreciate the police a bit more.
Or load them on a bus and drop them of in the hood at dusk. “here we are folks, next stop…. Main South” Will be back in just an hour. Enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Great idea for a taxpayer vote. The police wives organization should start selling the blue ribbons and donate the proceeds to a survivor benefit fund. That way these blue ribbons can be plastered everywhere, and these appointed hacks cannot make a decision to have them removed from a homeowner’s property. The money would also go to a great cause.
They are not removed from homeowners only from Town property.
Who owns the sign? Make them pay rental space for advertising on Town Land. Simple, Does ANYONE have the right to put something on town property? Can the “taxpayers” vote to remove it?
It is not on Town property. It is on a private lawn, far away from Town Hall.
