The Manchester Police have responded to the incident outside of McGarvey’s Bar, in which bouncers curb stomped a drunken boob’s head and assaulted a good samaritan who came to his defense, only to see the good samaritan arrested. And it’s quite possibly the most tone deaf ridiculous response possible.
How out of touch can you possibly be? They’re shaming the victim, who not only was assaulted, but then was unjustly arrested after the cops got there and found him being held down by four thugs in black t-shirts. The responding officer just straight up LIED when he said that he found Brandon Pichotte, the good samaritan, with a bouncer’s head in a headlock. He walked away, the bouncer came after him, and they had HIM in a headlock. Just watch the video. Show me where he’s got the bouncer’s head in a headlock anywhere in this sequence.
You can’t. They have him in a headlock the entire time. They practically snap his neck in front of the cop before he gets arrested for the crime of not wearing a black STAFF shirt. And instead of the cop speaking with witnesses and finding out what actually happened, they arrested the guy and then publicly shamed him on the MPD Facebook page.
Those charges should be dropped, they should take down the post and issue an apology. The officers fucked up. It happens. Just own it. Figure out who the douchebags in the video are who assaulted the drunken boob, arrest them for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and then publicly shame them.
Instead they’re now asking the public to do their job for them.
Witnesses? It’s ON VIDEO!!! What the hell is a witness going to do? Describe the guy getting his head stomped in? We all saw it. How bout they do their job and find out the names of the witnesses? It shouldn’t be that hard to figure out. At the very least you can find out who the bouncers are in five seconds.
Ownership from McGarvey’s emailed me this morning as well with a statement:
Wanted to personally reach out to you, we are looking in to everything that happened thoroughly. Obviously just an all around shitty situation. One person has already been terminated, obviously there is a lot more leading up to what you see on video so we are piecing it all together, I’ve been advised to wait to make a statement but I’m a big fan and read the blog daily and saw you picked up the story so I wanted to reach out. I will circle back and give you more info if it’s something you care to follow up on.
What I’d really like to know are the names of the bouncers. That’s what the cops apparently are looking for so this shouldn’t be too hard, and it shouldn’t require the assistance of the public. Because we all have shit to do too, and it’s not our job to figure this out. We’ve already done most of the work anyway.
I’ve called and left messages with both detectives but have not heard back. I have a source who’s given us the names of two of the bouncers but don’t have confirmation yet so I’m not publishing anything until we do.
