As you know, Worcester School Committee 5th place herself, Tracy Novick, has been EXTREMELY naughty the past few months.
- She voted against safety at North High several times, steadfastly opposing police in the schools and aligning herself with the Circlejerk.
- Despite the fact that police were desperately needed at North High School after four vice principals were assaulted by students, she called the prospect of a police presence in the school an “armed encampment.”
- She has steadfastly opposed cameras in our schools being connected to the police department so that they could ensure safety in that school, primarily because the ACLU opposes it, and she’s so deep in bed with Chris Robarge and company that she’s built a little fort with the bed sheets.
- She voted to not only renew Melinda Boone’s contract, but also give her a hefty raise, while cutting teaching positions.
- She has never voiced any opposition to the unnecessary position of “Communications Specialist” created by Boone for junior smokeshow reporter Jen Roy.
- She never spoke a word about Janice Harvey, but she did come out to support Lisa Dyer’s “color-blind is racist” rhetoric. Despite the fact that the SC has no authority to discipline principals, she could’ve used her position to urge the superintendent to make sure a great teacher stayed at North High, while a terrible principal was fired. Instead she vocally supported the principal and the opposite happened as the children of North High School suffer as a result of her malfeasance.
- At meetings she is the only one of the SC members who does not look at people in the eye as they address the committee, because she is too busy writing her blog, and continuing along in her unappointed role as town cryer. If this were 1863 she’d be standing in town square with a bell, yelling updates about the war. Her job is to listen to her constituents, but instead she has delegated herself as the media.
- Her Twitter account indicates that she’s a narcissistic busy-body, who has nothing better to do than to give her followers the information that no one asked about. Here are tweets in just the last hour alone:
Oh good, because I was wondering what traffic was like in Newton right now.
Anyway, anyone with a brain could tell you that she had a zero point zero percent chance of being endorsed by the teacher’s union, since she essentially declared war on them. Newsflash – if you’re with Boone and Dyer, you’re against the teachers. There’s no more middle ground. Politicians need to pick a side.
Apparently though, Tracy Novick doesn’t understand just how upset the teachers are. The Educator’s Association of Worcester (EAW) released their endorsements yesterday, and Tracy Novick was not on the list. Instead they endorsed newcomer Molly McCullough, former SC member Donna Colorio, and incumbents John Monfredo, Brian O’Connell, and Diana Biancheria. Obviously they weren’t going to endorse her. Everyone knew that.
Everyone except Tracy Novick apparently. She’s none too pleased, and released a scathing rebuttal on her blog.
Her comments are italicized and our rational thoughts follow in bold:
I’m not entirely surprised to tell you that tonight I was told that, on a split vote, I did not get an endorsement from the EAW for this year’s election.
I say I’m not surprised, because the closing question was if I’d vote in favor of a buyout of the superintendent’s contract. That would be a $300,000 buyout on a four month old contract (plus needing to pay an acting superintendent, a search firm, then a new superintendent). This is unwarranted and unwise.
Look, you made a mistake. You fucked up. It’s undeniable that Melinda Boone is the definition of incompetent. She’s in way, way over her head. It’s OK to admit that you made a mistake for re-upping her contract – you’re only human, despite your attempts to make us think you’re some sort of superhuman School Committee busy body. I have a simple solution for the $300,000 buyout. First you fire Jen Roy. That’s $50K right off the top. Then you find two other useless six figure administrators taking up space and making graphs on Power Points, and you fire them too. Then you use that savings to buy out her contract and the children and teachers of Worcester win. Boom. Problem solved.
I also, among other responses, said that firing the principal of North High was not the School Committee’s job or decision and was not warranted. The spotlight on North was not a result of student violence but of a media maelstrom.
LOL. There you have it folks – she’s officially come out as one of the hippies. Blaming the violence that has gone down at North High on the media is a move right out of the Circlejerk’s playbook. The media reports relevant news. When four vice principals are attacked in a school where the superintendent continually brags about not suspending kids via her her charts, that’s a relevant topic of discussion.
And how bad did you LOL when she said that the spotlight on North High wasn’t a result of student violence. Yea, student violence had NOTHING to do with the media spotlight. There’s nothing thought provoking or interesting about 20 year old sophomores creating anarchy in a Worcester Public High School.
When she said that firing Lisa Dyer was “unwarranted” she basically told teachers everywhere to go fuck themselves. But she doesn’t get that. She’s under the delusion that writing her blog is what teacher’s REALLY want for her. That plus the fact that she urged all of her followers on social media to stack the ballot box so that she won “Best School Committee Member” at the WoMag awards night. I think she honestly believes that a manipulated poll like that was some sort of proof that people think she’s doing a good job.
Newsflash Tracy Novick – teachers wanna teach in a safe environment. But that was problematic at North High because repeat offenders were coming back into the classroom without appropriate punishments, and the lack of police presence at the school created a distracting and dangerous learning environment. You helped contribute to that, and then you sided with a principal who literally redefined what it means to be unprofessional when she called out one of her teacher’s as being racist in a schoolwide email for not keeping up with the Circlejerk’s list of microagressions.
I share this, because I think it’s useful to keep in mind what sort of answers might have garnered endorsement this year. I also share this because, given the sorts of challenges facing urban education right now, that these were the focus of questions was disappointing to me.
Yea, it’s fucking weird how safety in an urban school is an “issue.” I mean, how out of touch is this woman? How do you not understand that teachers wanting to feel safe when they’re at work is a priority for the teacher’s union? She honestly believes that shit like this
is more important that student and teacher safety. Newsflash Tracy Novick – no one gives a fuck about whatever the hell it is these tweets are about. Literally no one. That’s why none of them have been favorited or retweeted. Because no one cares and no one is following #FBRC on Twitter.
I appreciate and thank those who voted for me on the committee.
It was apparently a 50/50 vote and Lenny Zelauskus cast the tiebreaking vote against her. We’ve given Lenny shit before, but he got it right this time. Now he just has to show us he can do it again with the City Council by endorsing Mike Gaffney for mayor. My question is, who were the schmuck EAW members that voted for her? There’s no possible excuse a teacher can give to justify that she serves the interests of the EAW.
And I’ll be up early tomorrow, to continue to work for the Worcester Public Schools.
She wrote this last night. She was indeed up early this morning. But apparently her vision of “continuing to work for the Worcester Public Schools” means writing a bunch of tweets that no one cares about. She’s not kidding either. She is actually so delusional that she believes that she is serving the public and the schools by doing this.
The bottom line is, Tracy Novick needs to go. Boone’s contract was re-upped by a 5-2 majority, so in order to get Boone out of there and improve the quality of our schools for the children of Worcester, we simply need to replace two of the pro-Boone members with people who actually give a shit about the students and teachers. Joe Petty is one that we can get rid of by electing Gaffney. But we’d need at least one more. Here are the results from the last election (top 6 get in):
Realistically O’Connell and Foley are shoe-ins. Not much you can do about Foley, and quite frankly I don’t mind him despite the fact that he’s wrong about Boone. That leaves four more spots. Biancheria needs your vote, but she’s been on the right side of almost every issue and should finish in second or third, leaving three spots up for grabs.
After that it’s a crapshoot. Monfredo was on the wrong side of the Boone issue, but unlike Ramirez and Novick, he’s stayed pretty quiet and hasn’t come out publicly as Boone’s cheerleader. I feel like we might’ve shown him the light. We’ll reserve judgement on him.
But the two easiest ones to replace are the two who finished 5 and 6 – Novick and Ramirez. As you can see, they both beat Donna Colorio by a few hundred votes. But Colorio is 100% against Boone. The math then is very simple. If Gaffney wins and Colorio can replace Novick, then Boone is gone. If we can get one more anti-Boone person to replace Ramirez then Monfredo will probably come around and it will be 6-1 against Boone.
This is not only doable, we have the potential to make this a landslide. Voter turnout in the last 20 years has been cut in more than half. But people will probably start to show up now that you all have an issue to rally around. Our goal is for O’Connell to get over 10,000 votes, Biancheria 9,000, and Colorio 8,500. We want Novick and Ramirez to both drop under 6,000. Anything else is unacceptable, but we think these figures are pretty conservative. We want to send a message to these chiselers and sneakthieves that Worcester is DISGUSTED with them. Because apparently they haven’t gotten the message yet.
P.S. Tracy Novick IS Reese Witherspoon from the movie “Election,” except we don’t need Matthew Broderick to manipulate the election in order to replace her. The voters will take care of that themselves. We might have to start calling her “Flick” though.

Come on now Jeff. Tracey is coo-coo for Coco Puffs, but I doubt she’s on coke.
Not my post. One of the admins is posing as me. If you mouse over the name on that post you’ll see the hyperlink with the hack become underlined. But you know all that, silly wabbitt. 😉
I love how everything is the fault of shadowy admins. All you need is a boot on your head and some food in your beard and you’d be all set to join Gordy at the conspiracy theorist meetings.
Those tweets…dreadfully mundane and full of useless information.
In Soviet Russia, nonsense tweets Tracy Novick.
Tracy, you busy tonight? Why don’t you take out some of that aggression on my swizzle-stick? 😉
She seems like the type of chick who would tongue punch your fart box if she thought there was a Melinda Boone in it for her.
I, as a Small Town Internet Lawyer, will assist with the Boone Buyout
This, of course, being the sum total of your contribution. Oh well, from each according to his ability, I suppose. Good job!!
