So this whole urban renewal thing might seem like a great idea for downtown Worcester, but they’re forgetting the biggest problem that hasn’t been addressed yet – downtown is filled with assholes:
Oh and, good news – the guy who punched this woman and stole her wallet on the city Common is a registered sex offender:
So…..that’s good.
Weird, because when I watched this video that the city paid to have made about what downtown will look like in 2020, I didn’t see any sex offenders punching women in the face:
So let me get this straight. We’re gonna spend all this money redoing downtown and seizing private property in the hopes that decent, normal people will walk around the Common, hitting up the stores and making Worcester great again. Sure, occasionally some savage like Albert Hines will occasionally punch someone in the face. But it’s cool, because we’re gonna have two new luxury hotels filled with imaginary businessmen who want to do business in a city that forces them to pay $15 an hour and only hire Worcester residents. What could possibly go wrong?
Oh yea, and I’m sure the 2 PM junkie parade will magically disappear from the Common after we put some hotels up and turn Worcester Bling Bling into a Starbucks:
Don’t worry though. According to Mayor Jumpin Joe Petty and City Manager Fast Eddie Augustus, our city is safe because we’ve been “working together” to “move Worcester forward.” But please, tell me more how downtown Worcester is gonna be a bustling place by 2020 when decent people can’t go out to eat without getting punched in the face and robbed by a sex offender. Could our leaders possibly be any more tone deaf? Do they just close their eyes and pretend not to see all the things that the rest of us see? Does our District Attorney think that people like Albert Hines shouldn’t be in jail because “prison wasn’t working for him?”
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again – you gotta vote these idiots out. Whoever is running against Joe Early and Joe Petty will get the full Turtleboy endorsement.

This ‘if you build it, they will come’ fantasy is the same one Brockton is banking on as well to revitalize it’s shitty downtown.
When I was a kid, my mother and I would have picnics on the common every now and then. Can’t do that now – we’d get robbed and probably sit on a used needle.
I am old enough to remember a time when it was actually FUN to go downtown. There was so much to do, so many great shops and department stores, most of which were always busy. I always reminisce about the numerous lunch counters and soda fountains that were there, any direction you went downtown. The common was a gathering place for decent citizens, and I don’t recall a time when I would be told “you can’t go downtown today, it’s just not safe”, as I frequently walked or took the bus alone from age 10. Now, that is not to say that there was NO CRIME, but I would bet that the calls for police were much less frequent, and probably for much less severe offenses. By no stretch of the imagination do we ever have a chance of that atmosphere coming back, as long as we have the sheer volume of miscreants, hood rats and street thugs that have infiltrated our “fair city”. We seem to have become a magnet for these types of people, and this is what is keeping downtown from ever being a thriving place for business again. You can take a piece of shit, wrap it up in some pretty paper, spray it with deodorant and paint it up, but underneath we all know it is still SHIT!! You need to start by removing the outer filth, and then you need to show people that they can go downtown and feel SAFE before any amount of renewal would even be worth it…
What’s ironic is despite the city’s claims that downtown on the move, there were far more reasons to go there during its decline in the 80s and 90s. Back then you had a music store, two pharmacies, jewelry store, an arcade center, Photo lab, a few news stand stores, a couple of fast food joints, shoe store, cinemaplex, Eyewear place, some retail establishments, and oh yeah, a huge frikkin mall! Today Downtown has almost none of these. I don’t get how they expect people to thrive down there when there’s literally nothing to do.
The only renewal downtown Worcester needs for the police to bounce all the hood rats out of a radius of 1/2 mile around the common. Try to keep them all west of Madison north of Oxford and Wellington streets. But that only solves half the problem as these lowlifes have infested many formerly nice neighborhoods thru out the city that now only a few very small areas of the city with 3 deckers are halfway decent. Thank you Section 8 housing, 16 year old mothers on welfare and their drug dealing boyfriends.
Another pointless blog by TB. Is this the best you can do?
What a pointless comment. What’s the matter, snowflake, out of EBT funds already?
WPI Doc? Ya, I bet! More like WPI Sheep!
Another blog read by Reslist. Supporting TB and adding clicks. They criticize yet that can’t stop frequenting this site. LOL
Oh, I get it now. We should all give TB a slap on back for every blog written! I must hold no opinion of my own, I must agree 100% with TB or I am labeled a malcontent. Keep on grazing Jake!
Hubby should’ve been exercising his 2nd amendment rights.
LOL SHOOT THE NIGGER!
Seriously “White Lives Matter”, is that the best you can muster, a filthy spurt of juvenile racism? Try to dig dig dig real deep to try and say something worth reading, otherwise you should probably go back to writing “fuck you” on bathroom walls. People like you do nothing but perpetuate the problem.
Hey, look! A left wing liberal extremist SJW nut job checks in! Thanks for taking time out from campaigning for Hillary to comment, you moonbat!
Now that the good weather is here, how about updating the pictures of the members of MENSA getting ready to have a think tank meeting.
That video was hilarious, funniest thing I’ve seen in a while
Joe Petty remarks, “nothing to see here, move along”
“But please, tell me more how downtown Worcester is gonna be a bustling place by 2020 when decent people can’t go out to eat without getting punched in the face and robbed by a sex offender.”
Tough to sum up Worcester any better than that…
I love candid pictures of hobos just loitering around.
Note that he’s a LEVEL 3 (the worst) sex offender. But hey, Rudy cleaned up the cesspool that was NYC , so it certainly CAN be done. You gotta have the cops willing to give the bum’s rush to these bums, and courts willing to back them up. Get that and things vastly improve. If not, just another of the LATEST feable attempts to cure Worcester.
i really would like to engage you with some pretty radical ideas i have reharding our broken city, how it has prospered as a cesspool of free loading, and abusive city employees, save small business and taxpayers, and how to expose them and fix what kills small business. Please call me asap so i can share my ideas. Ralph 508-340-3284 please call instead of email as o dont go online very often. just 3 min. of your time will open up opportunities to force change
