A million people have messaged us about this story involving the towns of Plymouth and Montague, which are probably close to three hours apart. Where to start?

Over the last month a guy named John MacGibbon, who lives in Cambridge, has been tormenting the people of Montague, Massachusetts. He’s created this page called Montague, MA, Unmasked, which he uses to trash the town, the Montague PD (particularly the chief) the local media, and many more.

It all started in May of 2015, when a 76 year old college professor named Vibeke Rasmussen was murdered in Plymouth by her neighbor, Tyler Haigmaiger.

The mentally unbalanced man stabbed her 35 times and fled to his mother’s house in Montague (next to Greenfield) were his mother discovered what her son had done and called the police while he was sleeping. They told her not to wake him and that they were going to come over and speak with him. But before they got there the kid fled and jumped off the French King Bridge on the Erving-Gill border, and plunged to his death in the Connecticut River.

You can read about the whole story here

John MacGibbon is the son-in-law of the victim. And since he feels like his mother in law never received justice, he’s been trying to make a name for himself by exploiting her death, and attacking Tyler’s grieving family, as well as the police chief in Montague.

But ya see, John is a washed up videographer who is very impressed with himself.

He’s obviously dying for relevance and cash, trying to white knight his own wife, and enjoys making money off of the misfortunes of others.

This is why he’s begun making a documentary entitled, “Murder in Plymouth” to document what happened to his mother in law and exploit the obvious mental health issues that Tyler had.

In January of 2015, Tyler tried to kill himself at his grandparent’s house:

Records showed that he had been involved in an incident as recently as January where he was found holding a knife to his gut in the basement of his grandparents’ Plymouth home, where he’d been living. Police had to deploy Tasers and a bean-bag shotgun to subdue him during that incident. He later told police he’d been suicidal since he was a teenager and had previously served jail time for attempting to stab a neighbor. His father also committed suicide, and left a note behind instructing Hagmaier to do the same.

After Tyler committed the murder his mother Heidi Flaherty began to worry because he wasn’t returning any messages. And since he’d previously talked about killing himself by jumping off the King French bridge, she drove there on a hunch:

Flaherty and her daughter set out to Plymouth to try to locate Hagmaier, but decided to check the bridge first since it had been a focal point in his previous suicide attempts. They found him there sitting in his silver Prius. He appeared drunk, Folloni wrote, so they blocked his car in to prevent him from leaving and convinced him to come home with them, according to the affidavit. At the house, Flaherty told police, Hagmaier had told her that he was “a bad person and should be dead.”

Officers searching for Hagmaier contacted his mother that night. She told them he was at her home in Montague, that he’d been drinking, and he was sleeping it off. They informed her they’d be sending officers to speak with him. Moments later, Flaherty called the police back to tell them that Hagmaier had just left and he was planning to kill himself. Police pinged his phone near the French King Bridge in Erving.

He’d also recently left a drug and alcohol rehab program, so obviously he was damaged goods. The murder seemingly had no motive, and the woman did nothing wrong. He snapped and he killed her. Obviously any family would want justice for this, but the fact of that matter was that now he was dead, so it is what it is.

But that wasn’t enough for John MacGibbon. He’s convinced this was all a big conspiracy to let Tyler escape justice. And his mother, the local media, the DA, and the Montague PD were all complicit. Of course that’s what he says he believes, but in all likelihood he’s just pretending to be this nuts in order to make some money off his bootleg documentary.

Anyway, Johnny boy got himself in trouble when he illegally recorded Tyler’s mother in a phone conversation and degraded her for choosing to go to her own wedding instead of his mother in law’s funeral. Ya got that? He expected the mother of the murderer, whose son was also dead, to attend the funeral of the person her son murdered. Because that’s a thing that usually happens. It wouldn’t be the least bit awkward at all. Here’s the phone call part of the “documentary”:

Personally, I don’t know if I’d go through with my wedding just a week or so after my son committed a murder-suicide, but everyone’s different. But one thing I certainly wouldn’t do is go to the victim’s funeral.

But the most important thing is, what he did was illegal. You can’t tape people in this state without telling them first. So Johnny boy was brought up on wiretapping charges and now he’s butthurt at the entire town of Montague (especially the people who wanna change the name of the high school mascot) because they’re enforcing the law.

John’s wife Kristine Jelstrup, the victim’s daughter, started this Facebook page a while back, entitled, “Understanding Tyler.” They initially were going to do a film about both the victim and the murderer:

“We are a filmmaking family, so one of our first decisions was to make a film about Mom’s life, Tyler’s life, where they intersected, and the long series of the events that led up to this terrible tragedy.”

The page went inactive for months until Chip Dodge, the Montague Chief of Police, publicly came out as an opiate addict. He had been prescribed painkillers when he was a beat cop, and it accelerated from there. Eventually he became the focus of a state police investigation when confiscated drugs went missing, before finally admitting that he had the “disease.” It’s been all over the news in Western MA, and you can read about it here.

This evidently got Johnny boy all riled up because the Understanding Tyler page all of a sudden started up again when it made the news (last month), and Johnny started declaring war on the entire town of Montague, by starting this Facebook page entitled, “Montague Unmasked.” It’s one of the most insane pages on Facebook, that seemingly violates almost every “term and condition” that Facebook seems to selectively enforce.

He shares this video, so the townsfolk in Montague know just what a bad ass he is:

If you’ve ever posted pictures of yourself lifting weights on Facebook, refer to yourself as a “Showbiz legend,” and suggest that an entire town fucked up by letting a resident murder your mother in law, then I hope the Fall River Guttermuppet gives you syphilis.

Here’s one of several videos Johnny boy posted in which he calls up the Chief, accuses him of being complicit, and calls him a junkie:

Here’s part of his documentary in which he accuses the Montague PD and Tyler’s mother of orchestrating Tyler’s escape:

Here he is interviewing some of the nuttiest people in Erving, Gill and Montague, who share their opinion that Tyler isn’t really dead because he’s living in a cabin in the woods somewhere:

Once again, it’s indisputable – Tyler is dead, and his body was recovered. Nevertheless Cheri from Erving thinks he’s in a cabin in the woods, so it must be true.

Let’s look at some other insane stuff he’s posted. For one he’s suggesting that Chief Dodge is protecting Tyler’s mother, who he believes should be charged as an accessory to murder:

Johnny boy is mad that Heidi warned people not to interview for the film because they were masking their intentions and pretending to “humanize” Tyler:

Johnny boy also posted the courthouse records from his wiretapping charge:

His emails with town administrator Steven Ellis, who just like everyone else, is involved in the coverup:

Images from Heidi’s wedding day, which obviously proves that she was involved in the murder:

You gotta be a real big piece of shit to exploit your mother in laws death like this.

Here’s one of several condescending, douchey emails he sent Chief Dodge, who he has been harassing for weeks:

“You’re not a bad person, you’re just stupid.”

Bitch, shut the fuck up. I’ve never, ever, ever seen a more punchable face than this one right here:

So Cambridge it hurts.

According to this former hippie, Johnny boy made Chief Dodge, “his bitch”:

He insists that Sgt. Chris Williams was outside Tyler’s house and intentionally let him get away before investigators could get there:

He’s suggesting that Chief Dodge somehow has it in for him because he’s enforcing wiretapping laws:

He suggests that Plymouth County District Attorney is in on the coverup:

Oh, and despite the fact that they found Tyler’s body and had a funeral, Johnny boy, who’s obviously completely SANE, thinks that Tyler is still alive:

Also complicit is the mainstream media, because they won’t look into the rantings and ravings of a clearly mentally unstable bag of flaccid penises who claims to be a filmographer:

Can’t emphasize just how much this moron hates Chief Dodge. He made videos about how how Chip should move to Alaska:

HILARIOUS!! This guy is so edgy!!

He also is accusing the entire town of protecting Tyler’s mother and Chief Dodge, and refers to them as “freaks, losers, stoners, artists, and other good people of Montague”:

He whines about how people in Montague have the audacity to fire back at him:

Oh no!! A girl named Alisha said she was gonna beat you up on the Internet? Your meat wallet must be in so much pain right now!!

He has found a few allies in town though. Mostly shitheads and junkboxes who resent the fact that a police department where the chief of police has a drug problem has arrested them for selling drugs:

Like this winner:

Oh snap!! A guy named Dan Jenks says he was “profiled” because someone in his car spoke Spanish. And obviously this guy right here doesn’t look the least bit suspicious:

Case closed!! Real mother fuckin talk!!

Of course all of these people are anonymous, which means more than likely he’s just making it up.

Anyway, I didn’t think it was possibly to feel zero sympathy for the family of a woman who was brutally murdered, but Dipshit McGee here sure did find a way. Personally I’m a big fan of the people of Montague for the most part. We send a lot of merch up there, and they’re generally pretty supportive even though we’ve crapped on Turners Falls and the SJW infestation they have from Greenfield, more times than I can count. So the fact that this elitist SJW loser from Cambridge is attacking them, the police chief, and a mother who also lost a loved one, in order to profit off the death of his mother in law, makes him one of the bigger assholes we’ve ever profiled on Turtleboy.

Here’s the Montague Unmasked page. Please don’t invade it like you always do!!!

I’m sorry I think you are a little off base. I dont know Tyler or John i only know of this story because of a show I saw on Reelz. This town/city let the public down in this situation. Weather you want to blame the judges who kept giving Tyler probation or the entire process. But his mother n law did die because several people didnt do their job and put tyler in the state hospital to get the help he needed. If theu did who knows he could still be alive today. Even local officers were upset after he got away with the high speed chase. I usually like a lot of your writings and agree with I’ll say 90% of your opinions but I think ur off on this one. Now I’m not saying john is a nice guy by any means. I don’t know him and maybe he was pushy when trying to get interviews for his video but you have to be to get them some times and if a family member of mine had died in this situation I would be very upset and trying to do whatever I could to try to prevent it from happening to anyone else and I’d be looking if the family had any legal rights against the people that refused to punish Tyler for his crimes.

Agree with you totally. If it were me, I might have done a lot worse. I thought his documentary was very balanced. What I got from it was that even the murderer was let down by the town so I have no idea why the author of this article is writing like a bitchy 13 year old girl about it in the first place.

If you’ve seen the movie you will see how awful the family of the murder victim were treated! It’s crazy that people have turned on the victim! To be fair Tyler is asp a victim. And his mum and grandparents are to blame for his outcome. Cared more about what people thought of their image as opposed to getting him the actual help he needed. They basically murdered Vibeke.

Why is the funeral picture just him and his wife, a whole bunch of kids and some lady mean mugging the camera. and if those two kids are his maybe he should take less time for this bullshit and more time parenting.. Long blue hair at a funeral? My grandmother would have risen from the dead to smack us and die again.

Seriously, who takes ‘artsy’ photos at a funeral?

You may be looking at the next mass shooting suspect. I’m not even kidding. He’s pretty unhinged.

Just looking at his big eyes makes me wanna vomit, I hope he reads this and sees that people know he’s trying to profit off his dead MIL, he couldn’t be more obvious. Dude looks like his ass has been squeezed by big guys and his eyeballs popped out

    “Who is John MacGibbon?”

A man who desperately needs a dentist.

My first thought too. Reminding of David Duke, but not as good looking with a mouth full of shoddy choppers.
