The Turtleboy Sports Graveyard grows by the week. And as it does, we progress as a society. In order to have a headstone and a plot in the TBS cemetery, you have to be more than just a complete dooshnozzle. You have to be a threat to civilized society. Because that’s who we fight for at Turtleboy Sports – good people. Melinda Boone, Tracy Novick, Old Balls, Brenda Jenkins, Nate Pickens, and many others have been naughty for years now, and finally someone called them out on it. But we don’t just do this to embarrass them, we do it so that we can improve as a civilization by getting rid of these troglodytes.
Well, we’ve got a new headstone reserved at the graveyard:

Kevin Hayes. I would’ve bet my world famous Nantucket horse ranch that the chairman of the Spencer-East Brookfield School Committee would have stepped down after his term ended in May. Ya know, to save himself the embarrassment of Turtleboy overthrowing him in a non-violent coup-de-tats at the polls. But alas he has taken out papers and wants to do this the hard way.
Game on.
There’s a million reasons not to vote for this guy. For starters, he hates kids. Hates em. He runs a district where kids at David Prouty lost show choir, cheerleading, and countless other activities because Hayes was getting revenge on the teachers who ran these organizations and clubs.
He hired a superintendent, who is beyond incompetent, and gave her an unprecedented five year contract, despite being hated by the entire town. He also gave her a stellar performance review, probably because she paid him money to renovate her home in Leicester:
Not only did this violate every Massachusetts State Ethics Law that has ever existed (by accepting money from someone you are paid to evaluate) but he also didn’t pull the proper papers out to do this work with the town of Leicester.
He once was pulled over by a Spencer cop for speeding, and used his position as a town selectman to try to get out of a ticket, berating the young officer and demanding to see the chief.
He doesn’t allow citizen input at meetings.
He did nothing as his pal Vinny Cloutier falsely accused three teachers of assaulting the principal and forcing her into “unpaid” leave.
He spent hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees to investigate two well-liked and active teachers, who have since been suspended for no reason. This will probably end up costing the district hundreds of thousands more fighting an appeal they can’t win.
He and his wife applied for coaching positions at David Prouty, and when he did not get the job he led a crusade against the AD (Chuck Fahey), who has been suspended without pay for 30 days. He appointed his scab friend Tab Bassett to be the interim AD, who then hired Donna Hayes to coach both field hockey and indoor track, neither of which won a single game this year, finishing dead last in the SWCL. The Hayes family made thousands and thousands of dollars in this fiasco and screwed the kids over in the process, as usual.
And he is running for reelection because he owes Superintendent Tracy Crowe a favor. She got him the hook up job (and hired his nephew to do the electrical work), now he has to return the favor. A new School Committee would spell disaster for Crowe.
So how did this guy get on in the first place? Well three years ago he and Vincent Cloutier ran for two open seats. They were the only ones who ran. They won because there were no other options. Shame on the townsfolk for allowing that to happen, but it’s not too late to correct their mistakes.
Turtleboy is officially endorsing Martha Berthiaume and Jason Monette for Cloutier (who smartly stepped down instead of being overthrown) and Hayes’ seats. Never met either one of them, but they both went to David Prouty and have worked in the district. Plus parents and students seem to like them:
Someone tell Martha to get a Facebook page and we’ll link it. Here is Jason Monette’s page. Both are young and are invested in the community. Both are in it for the right reasons – the kids. Neither of them is in it so they can get their spouse a coaching stipend, or their kid a janitorial job.
The election is May 10th. We urge all Spencer residents to vote for Martha Berthiaume and Jason Monette. But that’s not enough. You have to go out and get the old people in town. These are the people who don’t read Turtleboy. These are the people who might be getting fooled into thinking that Hayes has the kid’s best interests in mind, because he has framed this as the fault of the teacher’s union.
And just to show you how stupid this School Committee is, at the meeting last night they did a presentation on smart boards, which they are trying to bring to the schools. Only an idiot would think this is a good idea.

“Crowe must go,” “I miss show choir.” Boom. Roasted. I honestly can’t believe people didn’t have more fun with this. The possibilities are endless.
It will be a pleasure adding this man to the Turtleboy graveyard on May 10. Vote the Spencer Turtleboy Ticket. Don’t. Poke. The. Turtle.

I may be transferring next year to a different school but I really hope everything changes and things become more positive for DP. I’m so sick of seeing the school and district in this kind of position. But get out there and vote people. Jason Monette and Martha B is the way to go.

Don’t remember her name, but she used to sell puppy mill dogs out of a store front in Webster. After she got shut down, she resurfaced at the Laughlin Kennel puppy mill in Oxford (which was just ordered to cease-and-desist operating by the town. TB has done a bunch of blogs on Laughlin, and IIRC did a story or two on the Webster store also.

Hey, did anyone attend the funeral at City Hall today? Talking about more residents for the TBS graveyard.
I don’t think old people care very much about the children in their town. In Shrewsbury, it was difficult to pass the 2 1/2 override to increase taxes which would go toward funding the schools. I know that’s different because it actually affects their bank account, but it’s the only example I have.
