Buffalo News: The gatherings inside a house on Mountain View Drive in Lewiston had all the hallmarks of high school parties gone awry – Jell-O shots, pot and teenagers, according to court documents filed by a police investigator. It was at those house parties where a 17-year-old allegedly raped and sexually abused four 15- and 16-year-old girls. And, prosecutors allege, it was the suspect’s mother who gave the kids alcohol during at least seven different parties, supplied the marijuana and, on occasion, smoked pot with the teenagers. The suspect, whose name has been withheld by authorities, faces multiple felony charges, including rape, and is scheduled to appear in Lewiston Town Court this week.
Now 18, he was arrested on Nov. 6, the same day his mother, Tricia Vacanti, 47, of Mountain View Drive, was charged with supplying alcohol and pot to teenagers at parties in her home on various occasions between June 24, 2017, and Aug. 2, 2018. Two other adults are also charged with serving alcohol to minors at some of the parties at the house, near Niagara Falls Country Club, in one of Niagara County’s most exclusive neighborhoods. All four have pleaded not guilty and declined, through attorneys, to discuss the case.
Several times, Vacanti allegedly smoked marijuana with the teens, according to the charges filed by State Police Investigator Donald P. Ginnane. On Nov. 28, Ginnane arrested Gary E. Sullo, 53, who is Vacanti’s husband, and Jessica M. Long, 39, of Hillside Drive, Lewiston, on charges of providing alcohol to minors in the Vacanti home.
On the last occasion, Vacanti allegedly served up Jell-O shots containing alcohol to some teens, according to accusatory papers filed by Ginnane at Lewiston Town Court.
The investigation of the parties at the Mountain View Drive home began after State Police received a tip about the alleged sex crimes Sept. 19 through the state Department of Social Services Child Abuse Hotline. The teenage suspect was charged with first- and third-degree rape, first-degree sexual abuse involving forcible compulsion and first- and second-degree sexual abuse involving victims who may not have been able to give consent for a reason other than being under age 17, which is the age of sexual consent in New York State.
There are few people I hate more than the “cool moms” who try to gain favor with their crotch fruits by letting them do whatever they want. If you’re a grown adult who actually gives a shit what your teenager thinks of you, then you have failed as a parent. Teenagers are dumbasses. Nothing matters less than getting their approval. Nothing.
But whatever. If you wanna be a ratchet to your own kids then that’s bad, but trying to impress your kid’s friends, whose parents did not consent to any of this, makes you the saddest menopausal meatflap of all time.
“Look kids, I smoke blunts! Here’s some jello shots. Once you’re drunk come on over, grab a condom and head upstairs to fuck each other’s brains out. I’m like, totally not like your parents. I’m the cool Mom.”
I’m willing to bet that most of the kids at these parties lied to their parents about where they were going. No big deal. Kids always lie about shit like that, I know I did. But the difference was that the place I was going to wasn’t hosted by adults. We drank in the woods like normal kids. If my 15 year old daughter was being fed alcohol by some skag mom whose son that went on to rape my daughter, I would make it my goal to destroy her life. But this slitclit has money, so she’ll likely walk away on this one, as will her allegedly rapey son.
It was announced that she was arrested back in November.
I figured we could all agree that parents who try to impress their kid’s friends by letting them get wasted in their house are the absolute worst. But evidently I was wrong.
Call me old fashioned, but if you support your kids getting wasted when they’re 15, you’re no better than any run of the mill food stamp selling ghettoroid. Sure, your kid probably goes to parties, but it’s still your job to encourage them not to. Actively encouraging and participating in underage teen drinking makes you gutter trash.
Then there was this.
“Sad drugs and alcohol are taken so seriously.”
I know right? It’s not like anyone ever dies from drug abuse. We totally should not be treating drug abuse by children like it’s a big deal. Good point moron.
“I’d rather my kids be supervised than in a field somewhere.”
Oh right, because the adult “supervising” your children by giving them jello shots and blunts, worked out great. It’s not like anyone got RAPED or anything like that.
Take your lowered expectation, millenial parenting bullshit and shove it directly up your glory hole.
“How many of those kids stayed at her house and didn’t drive drunk?”
Another strong point. At least they didn’t drive drunk right? So I guess 3-4 rapes is the price you have to pay to avoid a DUI. Or you could just do your best to be a responsible parent, know where your kids are, and put the fear of God into them about what will happen if they drive drunk. Nah, that makes too much sense.
OK “Tom.” As long as she wasn’t actively helping kids inject heroin into her veins she should get a pass for hosting a bunch of rape parties and getting 15 year old girls so intoxicated that they wouldn’t be able to legally consent to have sex with her son while she was there.
The best part about this? Mom’s a lawyer.
And that would be her son, the alleged rapist, in the boat shoes. Because you don’t have to be a fully grown adult to dress like the biggest douchequeef who has ever lived.
He of course went to a prep school (shocking), which he was forced to drop out of, and now is home schooled.
Meanwhile, this about sums up Mom’s stance on parenting.
“It’s a fine line between over parenting and teaching your children to be independent young adults.”
Oh yea, I wanna take parenting advice from the chick who let a bunch of girls get raped under her roof, by her son, after providing them all with alcohol and weed. Wouldn’t wanna “over parent” by NOT doing any of those things. You have to treat 15 year olds like the independent young adults that they are.
Oh wait, no you don’t. Turns out 15 year olds are kids and you have complete control over their lives. If teenagers were able to act like adults then they wouldn’t live with their parents, and they’d be able to charged in adult court when they commit crimes. Teenagers by their very nature will always be dumbasses. The quicker parents understand this the better.
For the record, her son hasn’t been found guilty of anything. As we saw with Judge Kavanaugh, simply alleging rape doesn’t prove rape. But if he had sex with a 15 year old, and they were intoxicated, that counts as rape in the eyes of the law. I understand that teenagers are gonna have sex, but he’s charged with more than that. First-degree sexual abuse involving forcible compulsion means you “compel by use of physical force or by threat.” That means one of the girls is accusing the sex of being non-consensual, and Mom let it all happen because she wanted to be the cool Mom. This is why you should never, ever, ever care about coming across as cool to anyone under the age of 25.
