Here at Turtleboy Sports it is our mission to destroy panhandling in Worcester. It is a disease and a cancer, brought to us by the woman whose name is synonymous with cancer – Tracy Novick. I could go on and on about what’s wrong with panhandling. It kills property value. It makes investors less likely to open up businesses here. It’s dangerous at crowded intersections. And most importantly the vast majority of panhandlers are just looking for easy drug money.

But these idiots would not panhandle if it were not profitable. So in a way you can’t even be mad at them. They’re just going where the money is. We blame the ding dongs who think they’re Mother Theresa because they give these junkies money. That’s why we’ve started these new recurring blogs called “Shame A Panhandling Enabler,” because if you give money to these people then you’re no better than a common drug dealer. Here’s today’s moron sent to us by a loyal turtle rider at the Walmart exit off of 146:

Hey dooshnozzle with license plate 1PY432, take a look at the woman you’re giving money to. People who aren’t junkies don’t look like that. In case you can’t tell, she’s immediately gonna spend your money on heroin. She clearly has no desire to get herself into treatment or turn her life around, because there’s no need to when dingleberries like you will keep giving her money. You are not a good person for giving her money. You are an asshole. You might as well have given your car keys to the drunkest guy at the Blarney or bought Chris Christie a Big Mac.

Do you know this idiot? We don’t really care who he or she is, but if you do please share this blog and smack some sense into them while you’re at it. It takes a community effort to stop drug abuse and panhandling, and Turtleboy will always be on the side of the righteous. This should be a trend that we start in all cities. We don’t care where you live. Lowell, New Bedford, Leominster, Colrain – panhandling for drug money is an epidemic and we will gladly shame people from pretty much anywhere. So if you see it happening, do your civic duty by taking a picture and sending it to Turtleboy.

We urge you to support the Turtleboy Sponsors by doing business with them. Without them none of this is possible. Click on any of them to check out their sites or Facebook pages.

i have helped a panhandler or two in the past. But i never give them money. i will go to a store and buy them a few snacks and a drink( water or soda) and hand it to them. one was a young lady about my daughter’s age (early 20’s) and the other a man on crutches missing his lower leg. i’m no saint but want to pay it forward if i can.

Drive to the rectory of St. Johns Church on Temple Street instead. Ring the bell and had them the $5 -6 bucks you spent on snacks. Tell them your donation is for the St. Francis Food for the Poor Program. It will go DIRECTLY to feeding the truly hungry, and includes sweet snacks and drinks. Win-win for all.

Fuck I give panhandle money and I won’t deny it. I feel bad for them going hungry and not being able to eat. What’s the issue if they use a little bit to have a drink? What’s the problem with that? Everyone needs a godamned drink every once in a while.

Have seen her all over that area begging. My first thought, it’s a public safety issue. She’s on a state ramp, where pedestrians, bikes, etc. are not allowed. Not only her, but others too. Wonder how many gov. welfare perks she is using ? EBT, Section 8, Snap, medicaid, dental, etc. But she has enough of energy to hustle cash at the traffic lights there. Causing traffic backup and creating chaos. Why work ?

That woman is one of the rare, actually homeless panhandlers.

Worcester used to have a great city ordinance to curtail aggressive panhandling, which not to eliminate exclusively but, to set boundaries whereas the bums could not walk up to cars and harass people. That was like three years ago. What the fuck happened to that? Was that Tracy Novick’s brain child to resend that ordinance for the bums? If so, then really nice. Really really nice. Thanks alot.

Yes, exactly. Novick led the effort (along with the ACLU) to sue the city (her employer) in federal court, claiming that the new Worcester panhandling ordinance was an unconstitutional violation of their first amendment rights.

Then you get the idiots that wait for cars to pull up at a gas station, they go from one person to the next with some long ass sob story of why you should give them a dollar or two…I look at them, thinking to myself, do you think I am that stupid to fall for this cockamammeee BS. I usually ask them if they think I look like I am made of money…I don’t carry cash on me…my inside voice telling him to get a life.

Those ones are the worst. The ones who hold signs are passive and don’t actively harass you, while the gas station zombies make anyone passing through the city want to leave fast.

Gas stations are private property. How can there be panhandlers?

Shitty management combined with city cops who don’t think it’s illegal to harass taxpayers on private propertyo.

Actually it is City Hall on Main St with the needle disposal boxes in the restrooms giving the idea that drug use there is A-OK with the mayor. Spectrum Health Care at least tries to get people to kick their habits.

The 2 older men at Park Ave and Salisbury St. begging both climb out of a fairly newer model car with a HCP plate and hold a sign that states “homeless”. Maybe, but someones got a car, registered and insured (hopefully). But theyre doing this for booze $$. Ignore them!
