Are you ready for some March Madness? The games tip off on Thursday at noon, and per usual Turtleboy Sports will be running a bracket challenge. You are all free to sign up by clicking here. The password it “turtleboy.” Even if you know nothing about basketball you should still sign up. Mrs. Turtleboy beats me every year and it gives her a reason not to complain when basketball is on 24/7. You don’t have to know a thing to understand that the team with the higher seed is generally considered the superior team.

Here’s how the scoring works:

In other words, we give you extra points if you pick upsets. Anyone can pick all the 1 seeds. But let’s suppose you go out on a limb and pick a 15 seed to beat a 2 seed. You should get more points than the jamoke who picked the 2 over the 15. So we take the number of points you would normally get for picking that game right, and we add the seed. Picking a 15 over a 2 in the first round gets you 16 points (1+15). Picking a 2 over a 15 in the first round gets you 3 points (1+2).

The top 10% of finishers will get Turtleboy t-shirts and entry is free. For some reason gambling in America is illegal. Because you can blow all your money on investments, stocks, or scratch tickets, but you can’t put a friendly wager down on the outcome of a sporting event. This of course makes TONS of sense. Anyway, for that reason we wouldn’t be allowed to advertise a pay to play bracket challenge.

However, if you are reading this there is a good chance you owe Uncle Turtleboy $20. A great way to repay Uncle Turtleboy is by sending him the money via PayPal to turtleboysports@yahoo.com. If you choose to repay him by doing this, make sure to choose, “Send money to friends and family”:

Because we are a family at Turtleboy Sports. DO NOT choose pay for good and services because you or not purchasing anything. You certainly are not sending money to Uncle Turtleboy so you will be entered into a pay to play March Madness bracket. And we certainly WILL NOT be having a separate pool for people who chose to send us the $20 they owe us. That is illegal.

And whatever you do, DO NOT write anything about March Madness or bracket challenge in the notes. If you do then we will be returning your money. Because that is NOT what this money is for.
