You may have noticed by now that our blogs are riddled with grammatical and spelling errors. Better get used to it. We don’t have editors over here, and even if we did it would just slow down the process of publishing hot takes. It’s about volume, not grammar. People love to point out whenever we make a grammar boner though. Grammar boner Nazis are the worst. But I think I might’ve found the most terrible grammar boner gestapo in America, who was so offended by a grammatical error she saw on a sign in front of Northampton High School that she was compelled to write a letter to the editor about it in the Northampton Gazette:

To the editor:

I agree with people’s comments in Tuesday’s Gazette article about the garishness of LED signs and the need for the city of Northampton to consider regulation of such signs.

What was disturbing as well was the fact that the city’s high school would have a sign that is ungrammatical. The sign said, “School hours will run normal this week.” “Normal” is an adjective or can be a noun but is not an adverb. The sign should have read, “School hours will run normally this week.”

Welcome to life in the Amherst-Northampton region. It’s basically Cambridge with cow shit. I mean, if you’ve reached the point in your life where you have time to take out of your day to write a letter to the Goddamn editor about a minor grammatical error you saw on a neon sign, then it’s time to find some friends or something. I dunno, sign up for farmersonly.com. Do something. Whatever you do don’t keep driving around Northampton looking for grammatical errors you can write to the Northampton Gazette about.

OMG…did you hear about the woman who called a newspaper complaining “their” was misspelled. She was arguing with the guy at the newspaper saying the correct spelling was T-H-I-E-R….dummy, the correct spelling is T-H-E-I-R….she was calling him names & SHE was the one who was wrong. Tried finding the recording online, but couldn’t find it quickly….I’m definitely guilty of being a grammar-nazi, but I understand that blogs like TBS don’t give a rat’s ass about it, so I keep my comments to myself!

I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect a SCHOOL, where kids go to learn things like English, to get the grammar on their own sign right.
