Horrible. Allegedly, Robert and Missy-Ford Skomro are animal flippers. They search Facebook pages and online ads for cheap animals, or people giving away their animal with health issues because they can’t afford vets fees, then they take these animals and sell them to people. The worst part about this story is they had an innocent dog euthanized. They are selling these animals online by tugging at the heart strings of animal lovers.
Brace yourselves. There are a lot of screenshots. Honestly, half way through I questioned my sanity.
Here are some of the things being said about these people:
Here is the pup they are talking about:
Here is a comment by the previous owner of the pup:
Seems like if this went down the way people said it did, the shelter has a lot of explaining to do. I can’t imagine why they would put an animal down without proof of ownership. This situation is just sad all around.
Here is a long history of comments from people who have had the unfortunate experience of selling their animals to Robert and Missy Skomro:
I am completely disgusted that these people can foster for MSPCA.
These people have been doing this for 8 years, and we are just hearing about it now? I can’t imagine how many other people in that amount of time ended up with a sick animal because of these low lives.
I am happy that people like William exist. They take in sick animals and love them unconditionally. However, paying $300 for a dog with preexisting conditions is insane. Something should have clicked.
Here are some animals they have once had in their possession and have since sold to people:
Out of all the animals people posted, this one makes me feel the worst. The dog is clearly in horrible condition when Missy took the photos. I find it interesting that Missy says this dog is afraid of me seeing as how her husband Robert has been accused of man handling animals and be mean and abusive to them in public. The woman who purchased this dog ended up with a huge vet bill:
What a shame that these people continue to unleash animals who are clearly ill and not well taken care of, to unsuspecting animal lovers. It appears to me that the Skomro’s use a lot of “sympathy” stories on why they are getting rid of the animals. They mention not being able to care for animals because of back surgery, or needing animals for their child who has autism, ect.
My question is, where are they keeping these animals? If it’s in their home, that has to be a disgusting place to live. I have one dog, and he sheds, takes me an hour to go through and vacuum it all up. I can’t imagine having several dogs, rabbits, and other miscellaneous animals in my home.
I guess there are people who also have claims against the way they treat their children. Some of the comments come from people who have had physical run-ins with the Skomro’s or their children mingle at the same dace studios:
This is scary to me. I can’t count how many times I have witnessed parents being harsh to their children in public and I always end up wondering how they are treated behind closed doors.
This is why I do not ever got to McDonalds, especially the play place area. The kids there run rampant and it’s as if parents don’t watch their kids, too busy engulfed in chicken nuggets and their phones. I’m not surprised this family has been spotted at McDonald’s at multiple occasions, one look at Missy and Robert and it’s clear their Diabetes is uncontrolled, and their Cholesterol is through the roof high.
I’m surprised these people even bring their girls to places like dance. That isn’t cheap or free. Maybe it’s a way for them to look like loving parents? Although, Missy does look like she could be one of those dance mom’s who live vicariously through their child, and cause a world of misery for every other normal parent who just wants their child to do some twirls.
That right there is a face of a woman who will trick you into believing she is innocent. I could never imagine this person being the animal abuser she is being called out to be. I guess that’s why she has fooled so many people. If they look through her page and her husbands page, you will see what appears to be normal family behavior. They don’t make any animal sales public on their profiles. However, they do post here:
I tried to be approved by this page several times, and it just wasn’t happening. I think they were denying tons of people because of the hype the Skomro’s were causing online.
it appears that the original poster has already attempted to file reports against these animal flippers, and there was no success:
I don’t understand how anyone thinks these people are, “Doing what they need to do” because it’s clear that with so many similar claims of flipping sick and underfed animals, these people are doing the complete opposite of what they should do.
This is truly an awful thing to do to not only the families who are taking these animals in, but the pets who are going through the trauma of being mistreated, abused, filthy, and hungry. For the most part, the people who are commenting have taken these animals and showed them the love they deserve. However, I’m left to wonder how many people received sick animals and couldn’t afford to care for them so they give them away or have them euthanized. The cycle repeats itself. From one bad owner to the other.
I try not to think about it that way, but let’s be real… Not everyone will have the heart of gold to care for the ill. It’s just not something everyone is capable of. Let the horrible experiences of these unsuspecting loving, caring, and kind animal lovers be a lesson to all people looking for animals for purchase. Don’t buy from people like the Skomro’s, don’t buy on craigslist, don’t buy from animal breeders. There are so many shelters with so many animals looking to be adopted. Some of those shelters are so desperate to find owners because of how crowded them become. Save an animal’s life by refusing to do business with people who lack morals, integrity, and the loving heart that is required when handling any innocent animal.
The Skomro’s will get what’s coming to them. The original post went semi-viral and as an animal lover myself, I am doing my part in reporting these monsters. I hope everyone who reads this blog does the same.
