Gotta love the ACLU. An organization that was created to defend free speech rights and other civil liberties, is going after a police officer who was using her right to free speech on her Facebook page. They would NEVER go to bat for teachers, cops, firefighters, or any other normal law abiding citizen. But the second they see a repeat offender taking a shit in the subway, they drop everything and make a huge deal out of it.
Anyway, the police officer obviously used poor judgement. You gotta know better than this in 2016. Facebook ain’t your personal diary, and you absolutely can get in trouble at work for what you post.
But overall we have no beef with her sentiment, so long as the guy is a total asshole. If he’s just some poor guy in a wheelchair who happens to be incontinent that’s one thing. Shouldn’t be making fun of people like that. But if he’s some guy who repeatedly shits in the subway and causes a huge health and safety hazard to the public, then we have no sympathy for him. Naturally the Internet lynch mob has set their teeth into the police officer:
La-Tonya’s Facebook page says she’s a paralegal. Sure, we could call her employer up and tell them that La-Tonya is calling people “cunts” on Facebook, but then we’d be no better than the ACLU.
“I’ve been to jail a couple times.” Nuff said. If you’re arrested, I don’t give a shit how you’re treated in booking. Don’t like it? Don’t get arrested. Boom. Problem solved.
The bottom line is the police officer should get a stern talking to and told not to be some openly stupid on social media. But firing her? Give me a break. Dude was taking a smash in the subway and she posted that she tried showing her friends what she has to deal with at work on a day to day basis. Tons of people do this and it shouldn’t be a big deal. Get over it.

I love when the defenders of these slug rakes scream about how cops should show respect for them.
Now, maybe I’m crazy, but I was raised to think that respect has to be earned. And if you’re dropping a steamer on a Red Line platform, you’re only earning my scorn and ridicule.

I feel as an active full time Cop you should stay away from social media period. If not then go under any name but your own and don’t say what you do. Even that I would not trust. Cops are held to a higher standard in this society so there really is nothing but bad that could from announcing yourself as a Cop and posting war stories. This kills me, if I stop and take a piss on the side of a rural road and a cop sees me, I get arrested and maybe put on the sex offender list. Cops have to deal with all types, this is a example. ACLU hopped right aboard, since she’s a cop. I’ve never been a authority groupie myself. But cops can’t even sneeze or they’ll be thrown under the famous PC microscope ! On the other hand, the bums and thugs can harass the cops at will on camera. So, hopefully they’ll be able to sue the cops for harassment or assault.
