A Florida mother says it was “stupid” that she was arrested for leaving her child in a hot car while she ran in to Walmart on Sunday. Talisha Martin explained in a Facebook rant that she went in to the store in the city of Palatka to buy a pack of toilet paper. She admitted that she left her five-year-old son in the running car with the windows up and the air on. When she returned, she discovered that bystanders had alerted sheriff’s deputies who took her to Putnam County Jail for leaving a child unattended in a motor vehicle.
In a Facebook post, the Palatka Police Department wrote that officers responded to reports of the child in the hot car and saw that the air conditioner was blowing warm air. They revealed that the child said he was scared and hot, so they took him into the store. When Martin returned to the vehicle, officers observed that her speech was stuttered and slurred. They said the child had been in the car for 40 minutes, although Martin disputed that and claimed it had been less than ten minutes.
The real crime here is cultural appropriation. You can’t be a white woman named Talisha in 2016. That’s like the definition of a microaggression.
Speaking of racist things, what’s up with her letting the world know that a black woman reported her? Why is the color of this woman’s skin at all relevant to this conversation? Someone saw a small child sweltering away in a running car with the windows up and they called the cops. Who wouldn’t do that? If it was a white woman would she have said, “a white woman” called the cops on me. Nope. She just wanted to point out her latest grievance with black people.
Newsflash Talisha – the woman didn’t call the cops on you to stick it to whitey. She called the cops because you left your child in a car with the windows rolled up in Florida in the summer. The cameras at Walmart show that you were inside for 40 minutes. Oh yea, and you forgot to mention that your kid was not in the car when you got back, prompting the police to ask you if you were missing something.
And seriously Talisha, you need to come up with a better excuse. He asked to stay in the car so he could play on the iPhone? Well I guess you couldn’t say no to that one right? Just leave him in your busted car with the busted AC blowing hot air. It’s a lot easier than saying no, right?
See this reveals a major flaw with society in general. Parents don’t know how to say no to kids. Then those kids grow up and since they’ve never heard no their entire lives they think it’s OK to blockade highways, demand safe spaces, and always get what they want. Because when you say no to a kid, they have a tendency to cry. I know it’s annoying, but for their sake and the sake of society, it is your job as a parent to put up with the crying. It’s how they learn that you can’t always get your way. It’s part of being a parent. But then again it’s a lot easier to lock them in a car and give them an iPhone.
Anyway, Dad is a real peach too:
So many strong points being made. The cops should be arresting meth dealers instead of saving small children from dangerous situations. Because it was one or the other. Both calls came in at the exact same time. Bust up the meth lab or save the child? They went with option B.
Yup, nothing is ever your fault Scotty. Even if the AC was working, that would mean the car is running. Who leaves a small child in a running car in a Walmart parking lot. That’s like a child molester’s dream. But please, tell me more about your plans to leave America. This country would probably be a lot better place if you and everyone who thinks like you left and never came back.
Scotty posts a lot of stuff like this:
This is my big beef with the Trump wall crowd. Too many of them are just like Scotty. There are millions of undocumented migrants in this country, and that is certainly a problem. But not all of them are bad, and lots of them are doing good things for this country. Meanwhile, what are Americans like Scotty and Talisha bringing to the table? Give me some cleaning lady from Honduras who came here illegally because she couldn’t afford to immigrate and wants her kids to become doctors any day of the week over some white trash with jorts who locks their kid in a hot car at Walmart. Just sayin.
Anyway, Talisha and Scotty are having a tough time now that DSS has their kids:
That is the most Florida picture and accompanying Facebook post I’ve ever seen. There’s a 99% chance they went to Denny’s right afterwards. Anyway, this is just a small microcosm of everything that is wrong with America. Let’s hope the kids turn out OK in the long run.
