Yesterday we published this blog, outlining allegations that several people with ties to the Andover hockey team were making as to the identity of the person who called DCF on AHS hockey coach Chris Kuchar. According to everyone who emailed or messaged us, it was disgruntled parent and aspiring country music star Scott Nichols:
We messaged him several times for comment and gave him three days to respond. He responded by blocking us, so we were unable to report is side of the story. But we did our due diligence. Now he’s denying it:
If you start off by complaining that Turtleboy is anonymous, you’re probably hiding something. This is what people who are exposed on Turtleboy always do first – complain that they’re being exposed by an anonymous blogger who works for a company out of Worcester.
Next usually comes lawsuits (still undefeated in court), FAKE news allegations, and imaginary sexual harassment. But starting fights in parking lots? That’s a new one.
The best part is how he denies being the DCF whistle blower, and then immediately, in the next breath starts complaining about the coach, making up stories about “unsafe” practices, and calls him STUPID!!
Anyway, we report what credible people tell us. Personally, I believed them because so many people came forward saying the same name, and Scott Nichols fit the profile. But after his denial followed by an immediate condemnation of the coach’s practices and reference to an imaginary track athlete dying, there’s no doubt in my mind who made that call. My question is, did Shelley Berman put him up to it?

The parent who allegedly called DCF is a middle aged man living like a 17 year old girl who wants to be on The Voice. How much did he spend on that crappy video, I would feel embarrassed for him but don’t have time for his silly music fantasies. In my day if the coach skated us till we puked we did it. Just a side note you can purposely gag yourself on your mouthgaurd so you do actually puke and then usaully that was the end of the drill for you. Anyone who does not know that must have really enjoyed doing exta sprints and suicide drills. So the fact that you tell your little burner that makes you a moron.

Gotta love the hypocrisy of a man who will anonymously report his kids coach to DCF then turn around and bitch about TB’s anonymity. Then again I did not expect a high level of intelligence from a guy who sings “red blooded American” music in the heart of “blue blooded” east coast America. If I had gone home to my dad and cried about it I guarantee he would have busted out the garden hose and made a rink of his own just to skate me harder. Are coaches really killing their athletes?
Or do some people have (dormant) health issues that are generally not tested for (heart conditions, for example) because it’s not a common thing in young adults? It wasn’t the coach’s fault when the “local track star” died of a heart attack either. Tragic, yes – but not the coach’s fault.

Uh, ok……..did you contact (email, text or call) ur buddy / accomplice Shelly…… and he (most likely previously planned) then got higher authorities involved to use as a layer of insulation for his duplicitous self? Uh, I think the answer to that would be yes.
And, any particular reason its the Varsity coaching staff suspended and this guys kid actually plays on the JV team? So, if a coach starved (which is now a proven lie) the kids or ‘bag skated’ (didn’t happen either but even if it did so what) them, it was the JV coach that would have done it not the Varsity! So, makes perfect sense for Shelly to then bump up the JV coach to Varsity for the ‘safety of the children’, nothing at all to do with revenge on Kuchar for his son (who probably shouldn’t even have made the team when he played) not getting enough ice time.
As Berman has shown in all his past jobs that he was forced to leave in scandal (did the hiring authorities at Andover not have google access before giving him a multi year contract at 250k or so per?), he is not the brightest bulb when it comes to phone records using a tax payer funded phone. If the town has any balls or brains Shelly should be fully investigated with phone / e-mail records made public.

In North Andover a track athlete collapsed and died. It was 10 years ago and he had an undiagnosed heart defect. Not sure if that’s what he’s referring to,but apples and oranges.
