Turtleboy is gonna be discussing this topic on the Hillman morning show on WAAF on Friday at 7:20. Earlier today Brockton Turtleboy broke a story about a girl at Foxboro High School whose mother posted this on Facebook:

IMG_0388

Since then the principal of Foxboro High School, Diana Myers-Pachla, released a statement clarifying her side of the story:

“A photo was submitted on behalf of a local business for an advertisement in the Foxborough High School yearbook.  The photo showed the United States flag hanging on a wall with the lower portion lying on the floor and the student standing on the flag.  We do not view standing on the U.S. flag as respectful or appropriate.  The yearbook advisor spoke to the family earlier today saying the student publication would consider publishing a cropped photograph.  We were in contact with a representative of the local Veteran’s Agency who verified that, ‘In my professional opinion, this photograph, as it is, or even cropped, would be an inappropriate display of the United States flag.’   We take respect for the United States flag very seriously as it is the most important symbolic representation of our national pride.”

So since she released this statement the Turtleboy butthurt patrol has been out in full force with dumb comments like these:

Screen Shot 2015-12-10 at 9.10.35 PM Screen Shot 2015-12-10 at 9.10.10 PM Screen Shot 2015-12-10 at 9.09.56 PM

Alright, first of all, the principal is obviously in clean up mode right now. Does anyone actually believe that it’s the policy of the Foxboro High School yearbook committee to get the approval of the local Veteran’s Agency before they publish a picture in the yearbook? Does anyone honestly believe that actually happened? Hey, maybe it did. But I just think it’s far more likely that the principal realized how bad she screwed up after the post went viral, and now she’s in cover up mode. Because as we’ve seen time and time again, high school administrators are the masters of dishonesty.

Let me make myself explicitly clear – everyone at Turtleboy Sports stands with Brockton Turtleboy 1,000%. What’s so hypocritical about this, is that the same people are usually standing with Turtleboy and criticizing the butthurt PC patrol, have now BECOME the butthurt PC patrol. Funny how that works.

Make no mistake about it – if you are bitching, and whining about this, then you’re no better than the nudniks, hippies, and dooshnozzles who complain about hate speech, hurt feelings, and safe spaces. You’re no better than the kids at Yale whining about “culturally insensitive” Halloween costumes. You’re looking for a reason to become offended, and you’re forcing other people to comply with your world view. That’s the definition of PC butthurt.

No one loves America more than Turtleboy. I fucking LOVE the United States of America. When I see the stars and the stripes I get mildly aroused. Whenever someone shits on this country for being “imperialist” or “racist” or “materialistic” or whatever, Turtleboy is the first to point out the 5 million reasons America is the greatest country that has ever existed.

But Turtleboy just so happens to be wearing American flag underpants right now and he has a major case of swamp ass. Is that disrespecting the flag? My ass cheeks have been pressed up against the stars and stripes for hours now and I could use a good shower, but first I had to write this blog. Am I unpatriotic too? Get over yourself.

Oh yea, and we have an American flag blanket in my living room, and guess where it is right now? On the floor. Guess Turtleboy is Goddamn ISIS now.

Here’s my question – why do we revere a flag more than we do our own children? Turtleboy Jr. rolls around on the floor in his own filth for 12 hours a day. But a flag can never come in contact with the ground? So we value and respect a piece of fabric, which was ironically manufactured in China, more than a human being? If you’re one of these people railing on about “flag etiquette” then there’s no way around it – you are officially a PC butthurt.

Look, we’re supposed to be above this. Turtle riders are supposed to be the legion of common sense. And common sense tells you that this girl, her mom, and the diner who created the picture clearly love America. This is what the background she was using looked like:

12373313_10156559677870508_7276676723379429997_n

Remember the laser background you used to get in school photos? Yea, there weren’t actually any lasers there. It just looked like it. Same shit with this. There’s no flag there. Just the illusion of a flag, which was clearly done in the name of patriotism. Just ask the Mom:

12351279_10156226508350526_1219098499_n

She’s saying the school was “uncomfortable” with the flag in the background. Not that she was standing on the flag. It was the fact that the flag was there at all. And guess what? I believe her. Because it’s totally believable in 2015 that a high school principal in a PC approved state would say something like that.

But some people just can’t resist the urge to show the rest of us that they’re actually way more patriotic than everyone else because they strictly adhere to a bunch of guidelines that no one gives a shit about. Saw someone post this earlier:

Oops!!

A lot of butthurts out there are claiming that veterans are offended by this. Because as you know, every person who has ever served their country automatically has the same point of view on everything. They lack the ability to think independently and have one common voice. Yea, that’s it.

So we decided to interview a veteran. Turtleboy called up a good buddy whose opinion he trusts more than anyone’s. This combat veteran has served multiple tours overseas, including in Iraq. He’s seen people he loves and cares about killed because they had an American flag patch on their uniforms. But he hadn’t seen this picture yet until we directed him towards it. Here’s what he said when we asked if he was offended that this girl was evidently “standing” on an American flag:

I see a pretty girl who likes America. There’s no ill intent there. There’s absolutely nothing offensive about that picture whatsoever.”

There you have a it. A veteran who isn’t suffering from flag butthurt. Turtleboy must be friends with Bowe Bergdahl.

But then you have stuff like this:

Screen Shot 2015-12-10 at 10.50.37 PM

No, it doesn’t go against what your father and grandfather fought for. Your father and grandfather DID NOT fight for a politically correct, butthurt society, who looks for a reason to be offended by everything. Your Dad fought to rid the world of racist, militaristic tyrants who were trying to destroy our way of life. And your grandfather fought for……millionaires who didn’t want their merchant ships  getting blown up by U-Boats. But more than anything they both fought to preserve the American way of life. And one of the most important freedoms we have as Americans is freedom of expression. They both fought for this girl’s right to have this picture in the yearbook.

People that are mad that this girl is standing on a fake, superimposed flag photo backdrop are the reason we can’t say Merry Christmas, or have nativity scenes in town square. Because no matter what people do, and no matter how good their intentions are, someone out there will find a reason to get offended by it. And schools are in the business of trying to please the easily offended, so it’s just easier for them to ban everything that might hurt people’s delicate sensibilities.

Here’s what happened. The principal has a hyphenated last name, and 99 times out of 100 people with hyphenated last names are the PC gestapo. She’s more than likely very liberal, which is fine. But when she saw this picture:

Screen Shot 2015-12-10 at 10.55.57 PM

the first thing she thought was – “that’s some right wing, red meat rhetoric right there.” Because generally speaking, it’s conservatives who like to waive the shit out of the American flag and portray themselves as the “real” patriots. “Hope” and “change” are liberal selling points. “Make America great again” is a conservative selling point. Go to a Toby Keith concert and try not to leave there bleeding stars and stripes. You can’t.

Then the principal, who I’m sure is VERY familiar with Morgan’s mother, looked on her Lisa Truax’s Facebook page and saw stuff like this:

Screen Shot 2015-12-10 at 9.04.08 PM Screen Shot 2015-12-10 at 9.02.24 PM

And the first thing she thought was, “This is some Donald Trump shit.” This is a right wing family trying to insert their politics into the yearbook. This might be taken the wrong way and trigger Islamophobia. It’s not what the family actually intended, but I’m sure it’s what the principal thought.

Then the backlash happened and the principal realized she looked like a commie, so she went into damage control. She made up the story about talking to the local veteran’s agency, so she could make it seem like SHE was the one who was being patriotic. They got caught being PC ultra liberal dooshnozzles, they got together, and they came up with a statement that ironically was probably stolen from possible suggestions that turtle riders made on our Facebook page about, “standing on an imaginary flag.”

You can try to deny it all you want, but Turtlleboy is right 99% of the time because we’ve seen this show before.

P.S. What if this whole thing was a scheme set up by Red Wing Diner to get more business? It’s almost so brilliant I wish they did do it.

What you allow to happen without your intervention becomes your standard. Standing on the flag is disrespectful… PERIOD! Too many times we excuse the I’ll behavior saying it was meant with good intent (and most times is.). However, if we don’t correct it, it will continue to happen. Just do the right thing! I’m sure there could have been an easy solution to this. Take another picture or allow the one they took to be cropped. Continuing to break or disrespect our American traditions is what is causing this great nations downfall. God Bless our Veterans…past, present, and future!

Read most any post from turlteboy, the information is bias with no credible sources, he has a combat veteran friend who isn’t offended by the picture, right, I’m sure he does. He influenced the Brookfield state police barracks closure to be stopped, I didn’t see any press indicating that, only his. He gets an erection when he see’s the flag, that’s just fucking weird. He

“We were in contact with a representative of the local Veteran’s Agency who verified that, ‘In my professional opinion, this photograph, as it is, or even cropped, would be an inappropriate display of the United States flag.'”

Unfortunately, the principal does not specify in her statement why the Veteran’s Agency felt that a cropped photo would be inappropriate. That would seem to me like a sensible solution.

So what’s the truth? Photographers backdrop or a real American Flag?
Was the photo “green screened” to add/PhotoShop in the flag as a background?
Need more information for the truth.

Speaking as veteran myself, I actually find it refreshing and encouraging that a high school kid actually wants her portrait to contain the flag and it gives me hope that our youth still care about this country. As long as she’s not taking a steaming dump, spitting, or burning the virtual flag as a symbol of protest against it, then I have no problem with this at all.

This is like falling down the rabbit hole of right-wing stupidity. First, your underpants, blankets, and most of those ads and decals are American Flag patterns, they are not actually American flags. You are not wearing underpants made from an actual American flag, are you? If you are you are a commie bastard. Second, even when people use the Flag in a manner that violates 4 USC (U.S. Flag Code), it doesn’t matter. The penalties for violating the Flag Code are not enforced. Turtleboy assumed the parents were telling the truth and the principal was lying, asked one person, who said he was okay with it, made a bunch of presumptions about the principle’s thought process, and then concluded “if you don’t agree with me you’re **gasp** a PC dooshnozzle [sic]”.

    • December 11, 2015 at 11:48 am

Hence the whole drawing of allah and posting it..and other things we do, It’s a major disrespect for millions upon Millions yet these same people don’t understand the disrespect. . Stupid Americans stop being so self centered if all you do is disrespect everyone but your selfs

  • Itinerant Engineer

Although there is a “Flag Code” that indicates how the flag should be flown, used, carried, and finally retired and burned when it’s too ragged and/or faded to fly, it’s completely optional and overridden by the First Amendment. That’s why it’s legal to burn and otherwise desecrate the flag in protest.

I still don’t know why people get so buttmad about that sort of thing anyways; the flag is a symbol of our nation and its values, it’s not like those values are diminished when the flag is disrespected. In fact, it’s a testament to those values that it’s perfectly legal to do so. Meanwhile in Thailand you can get thrown in jail for 15 years if you make fun of the king. Do people want that here? Do they really think so little of America that they believe it should be above criticism? That’s the sign of people believing that something cannot stand on its own principles, so they make speaking ill of it taboo. See also: Islam.

Also, wasn’t there an episode of Futurama about this?

In a courtroom I would tear TB’s ass up lol. You can’t prove that unless she admits it or there’s proof she said that to begin with TB.

“Alright, first of all, the principal is obviously in clean up mode right now. Does anyone actually believe that it’s the policy of the Foxboro High School yearbook committee to get the approval of the local Veteran’s Agency before they publish a picture in the yearbook? ”

WOAH TB that’s a serious red herring lmfao.

No one ever said that, and that’s not even part of the debate at the heart of it. They asked the VA about this *specific* issue and they based their assessment off of it.

Policy or no policy, simply make a well-constructed, logical argument about why standing on the flag-digital or not-that is partially on the floor is *not* offensive.

“You’re looking for a reason to become offended, and you’re forcing other people to comply with your world view. That’s the definition of PC butthurt.”-Who died and made you king of the world and the dichotomous lord of all things? Lol, this blod has become way too grandiose, presuming to reside over the ruling definition of all things, what a righteous authority! LOL

You’re on a roll lately. First you call for “common sense” gun control in one of your articles and now you try to justify someone who portrays standing on the flag. And you call yourself a conservative? That’s funny. I needed a good laugh.

I’m sure the girl and her mother did not take the photo with malicious intent, but it’s disrespectful to most veterans. I’m sure there’s a sprinkle of vets who don’t give a crap, like the one you supposdley talked to. But for majority of veterans who are offended, the least you could’ve done is respect their views and not try to vilify them as being pc.

I just want to make it clear, now, that I have absolutely no problem with this. I think what the mother is trying to say that this isn’t a giant American flag that they decided to hang over stands and run on the floor. This was a red white and blue drapery with stars made specifically for the purpose of being a backdrop for photos. What she said does not necessarily mean that the American flag image was superimposed onto a green screen or blank background.
