It BOGGLES my mind how people don’t understand how the Internet works. So yesterday somebody sent us this picture:

11193227_1575447316071879_5411511548034802111_n

Some 19 year old girl from Charlton put it up on Facebook. A source sent it to the Turtleboy Sports Facebook account, which a handful of writers have access to. I couldn’t believe it when I saw it. I guess I could KIND OF understand if it was written by a black person from Baltimore who was pissed at the world. But it was written by a white girl from Charlton.

Now just think about that. This is someone’s neighborhood. That CVS that burned down yesterday was the only store for a lot of people who lived in that neighborhood. And the people doing the looting don’t even live there. They were just there for the carnage, because they’re professional assholes.

Now poor, mostly black people can’t get medication. They can’t buy groceries, since there is no grocery store in that neighborhood. Innocent people’s cars were destroyed, and now they can’t get to work. No big deal right? Except for the fact that people in that neighborhood live paycheck to paycheck and lose a few days pay because of this.

Fuck them though right? As long as you get to show your “solidarity” from your MacBook in your dorm room.

That was why this picture was shocking. A sheltered, upper class white girl who has everything handed to her in life, encouraging the destruction of a poor neighborhood. They weren’t destroying Charlton. They were destroying Baltimore. It’s DISGUSTING that someone would encourage this who doesn’t have to live there!!

You know who’s out there cleaning up today? People who live there:

1228710534786958695

You know who’s not out there cleaning up after the destruction? White hippies posting on Facebook.

Anyone trying to defend her is only encouraging this racist behavior. And make no doubt about it – this is actual racism. White people cheering from the sidelines as black people destroy other black people’s property. It’s pathetic really.

Well here’s how it works when we get a tip like this. We text each other and see who wants it. People send us tips all the time. Sometimes we just tell them to send it to us and we toss it on a blog. Turtleboy is the voice of the community after all. But one of our steady writers is a Clark graduate who contacted us after we wrote about looking for new bloggers. He called dibs.

And quite frankly, anyone who has a problem with what he wrote is a nudnik. I just read it again. The whole blog is like 600 words. Her public tweets and Facebook postings do all the talking. All this information was out there before it was ever blogged about on Turtleboy. All he did was post screenshots of something any one of you could’ve seen before that. You wanna blame someone? Blame her.

Here’s a dumb thing someone said in the comments:

That fact that you literally stalked her accounts is seriously crossing the line, being someone who grew up with her this is creepy to read since everything is so wrong. Get the facts straight. It’s leading people to assume things about her that aren’t even close to true.

Creepy is a word that morons use when they don’t know how the Internet works. Hey genius, he didn’t have to sneak into anyone’s bedroom and unlock a window to see it. He just went to one of the most trafficked sites on the web and – BOOM – there it was. And get your facts straight? LOL. Newsflash – the tweets were the facts.

But of course hordes of ding-dongs are lining up to whine about us “picking” on this girl. Some people are ACTUALLY saying things like, “She’s only 19.” Hey numbnuts – when you turn 18 you’re an adult. Welcome to America. You can vote, die for your country, disown your parents, gamble, and all sorts of other fun things. In Liberia she’d be a four star general by now.

Ya know why all these people are frauds? Because they were the first ones to share the Buffalobruises articles like it was the New Testament. Was that damaging the reputation of someone? Of course it was. Fuck him though right? As a matter of fact TONS of people whining about this now shared that thing too.

These are the same people who share Clive McFarlane’s trash where he tries to publicly humiliate teachers at North High for going on Facebook. They’re the same people who don’t seem to have a problem when Dianne Williamson does the exact same thing we do in a wittier manner.

Ya see they don’t give a shit about the fact that someone is being called out on the Internet. They only care because what the person is saying goes along with their worldview. Because you can bet your bottom dollar that if this was some redneck Christian girl from Indiana who refused to cater a gay pizza wedding, these people would be the first ones jumping on the bandwagon. Remember when it was cool to make fun of this girl?

memories-pizza-indiana

Shaming is hardly something that Turtleboy has a monopoly on. Remember when Curt Schilling shamed those idiots saying dumb things on the Internet? Or how bout when EVERY MAJOR NETWORK made a huge deal about Brit McHenry saying dumb things. Christ, just Google image “public shaming Twitter” and watch what comes up:

Screen Shot 2015-04-28 at 11.54.36 PM

See? We didn’t invent this. Or how bout those Oklahoma frat boys who sang that racist song on their bus. Everyone was fired up about that, including our girl. Were you frauds calling CNN bullies for this?Screen Shot 2015-04-28 at 11.58.01 PM

Nowhere. You were sitting at home on your computers jumping on the same train. You even forced one of these kids to do an awkward public apology with the black caucus

CA-nCFRWsAQhRHc

But, but, but….CNN was creeping on them by publicizing a video the frat boys put on the Internet right? Guess how old those kids were? 19. Where’s the outrage that CNN is picking on innocent kids? Frauds. That’s what every single person who is mad about this is. An outright fucking fraud. You know why you watched and shook your head at Britt McHenry, the Oklahoma frat boys, and those losers trolling Schilling’s daughter? Because you didn’t know them. So it was entertaining to you. Now it hits home and you’re whining about it.

The bottom line is that at the end of this day we did this girl a favor. I read those tweets and they were fucking RECKLESS. Who writes disgusting, nasty shit like that? Clearly she didn’t see any problem with it. But guess what? One day an employer or a law school would’ve gone on her social media and found all that. Now she’ll be smarter in the future and have some common sense. Because as we’ve seen with the City of Worcester, people act more responsibly when they know what they’re doing is being monitored.

The last thing I’ll say is this. I saw a couple people say in the comments that they’re not reading Turtleboy anymore. Cool – see ya later. If you stop reading Turtleboy then you were never really part of the Revolution anyway and you certainly won’t be missed. But who are you kidding? You’ll be back the next time a Busgate story rolls around or you wanna find out where the worst traffic lights in Worcester are. Because at the end of the day you come here to watch the world burn and you’re no better than we are.

Your articles aren’t news worthy. Just pieces of overly opinionated shit. 🙂

This is even less newsworthy than the article it’s about.

I just don’t get how it’s news. Is she the only person out there saying dumb shit? What is it about this specific college freshman that made you devote an entire article to her? You’ve made some really awesome points and I think you’re saying some important shit. But what part of the Revolution (which apparently is a proper noun now). I’m bummed out that this is going to detract from all significant statements you’ve made and attention you’ve earned. This makes you an easier target, and for what?

I’m reminded of how the late Isaac Hayes quit South Park over claims of the show’s religious intolerance.

But it was really just over the fact that they ridiculed Scientology after years of bashing Muslims, Jews, Christians, Mormons, etc.

Anyone else ever notice how many, if not most, of the people who complain about the lack of authorship of the articles on TurtleBoy Sports use the same kind of “accusatory” tactics and don’t use their real names, either?
    Just saying. Bunch of whiners.

I guess some people just don’t understand how the internet works. The internet is like your public resume. Anything you post can be found and if you rub someone the wrong way by being a complete ignorant d-bag then the information will spread. You need to know your audience and know who you’re speaking to on any number of these social networking forums. Internet =\= RL.

Keep doing exactly what you’re doing Turtleboy. The more the Butthurt Brigade screams, the more you know you’re exposing them for the pieces of shit and frauds that they are. Never change!

The difference is TB, that Curt Schilling put his name on his shaming. As do many other individuals, the ones that publicly shame from behind an anonymous handle are just as bad as that girl. You lower yourself below Clive every time you allow some anonymous attack like this. Her opinion isn’t necessarily right, but she put her name on it and that is how she views the events in Baltimore. She can answer to everyone who questions her that sees it on her page, but some set of half wit secretive bloggers who won’t allow themselves and their own lives to be put on blast aren’t authorities on that.

You aren’t the moral police, policemen wear name patches and badges so you know who they are. You lurk in the shadows and pounce, hoping for a few extra page views. When you bring us info on situations like at North you help this area you claim to love, when you crucify people like this you embarrass us all.

You aren’t a hero, you are a set of anonymous cowards when you post hack attacks like that.

What’s the difference? TB is trying to speak the truth not win any awards.

I’m pretty sure your name isn’t ” The Difference Is” So may we assume you’re an ” anonymous coward” then?

If ya have the internet muscles to post something everyone can read, have the spine to back it up.

If you don’t want others to talk about what you put on the internet. Why put it on the internet? Write it on a piece of paper and keep it under your bed.
