Anyone who says they would’ve admitted they were a Christian to a gunmen looking to kill Christians is full of shit.
Source: The father of a student wounded in the Oregon community college shooting described in horrifying detail Thursday evening how the gunman specifically targeted Christians.
Anastasia Boylan, who was shot in the back, offered the disturbing details to her father and brother before undergoing spinal surgery.
“He shot the professor, point blank, one shot, killed him — took him right out of it,” Boylan’s father, Stacy, told CNN. “And then, this man, had enough time, I don’t know how much time elapsed before he was able to stand there and start asking people one by one what their religion was. ‘Are you a Christian?’ he would ask them. And if you’re a Christian, stand up.”
“And they would stand up and he said, ‘Good, because you’re a Christian, you’re going to see God in just about one second,’” he continued, relaying his daughter’s account. “And then he shot and killed them.”
The account offered by the father corroborates other reports which indicate the gunman specifically went after Christians.
“The shooter was lining people up and asking if they were christian,” tweeted Bodhi Looney, who said her grandmother was in the room as the shooting unfolded. “If they said no, or didn’t answer, they were shot in the legs.”
Alright, so I saw that conservative blogger Matt Walsh posed this question about yesterday’s shooting at a Community College in Oregon on his Facebook page:
First things first – this Turtleboy is a Catholic. I believe in God and all the good stuff that comes along with it. But you’d have to be out of your mind to say “Yea, I’m a Christian,” to a guy going around looking for Christians to kill. Because guess what? The God I believe in is willing to let that little white lie slide. You know, so I can live. Me and the big man will square it up later on, and worst case scenario you go to confession and boom – sin absolved.
But Matt Walsh caters to some of the worst types of people in America – the FARRRR right. The people who think gays are sodomites and say porn is evil when Redtube and Ashley Madison are on their favorites. You just KNEW that answers like this were coming:
Oh shut the hell up. I can’t stand people like this who claim that society is so bad that they’re better off dead. Then what keeps you from jumping off a bridge every day? Look, I realize that lots of elements about how our country and communities are run are ass backwards insane. But ultimately our problems are pretty minimal. We live in the greatest country that has ever existed. Plus there’s wifi everywhere. But please, tell me how you’d take one for the team just to end your existence on this miserable planet.
What other choice do you have? Oh I dunno, LYING???!!! I’m pretty sure the ability to sin is what makes us all human. Remember when Eve ate that apple because for some reason she listened to evil talking snakes? Yea, she fucked that up for everyone and now we’re born with ability to sin. Might as well put her permanent banishing from Eden to good use. And I’m pretty sure it’s not even considered a lie if you have a gun to your head. But please, rip off some more Bible quotes for me Mr. Self Righteous Upstanding Christian. Because EVERYTHING in the Bible is LITERALLY true. Everything.
Gangsta Christian!! OF COURSE he would die for his faith!! That’s a clown question bro!!! If it wasn’t for those wacky liberals taking our guns away, everyone in that class would’ve been armed to the teeth and killed him immediately. But since we have a wacky Kenyan Muslim president who wants us all to die, he’d have to bullrush the bad guy instead. And he TOTALLY would do that. I mean, sure he wasn’t there to actually put his money where his mouth is, but he wrote it on the Internet so it must be true.
Look, anyone who says without a doubt that they would say “yes” to that question is lying. I’m not saying people wouldn’t do it, I’m just saying that you can never know for sure what you’d do when your life flashes before your eyes until you’re in a situation like that. When I was 17 I walked out of an ATM and some Worcester crackhead pulled a gun on me and demanded all my money. I froze like I’ve never frozen before and gave him everything instinctively. I would’ve given him a million dollars if I had it on me.
But it turned out the gun that was pulled on me was a fake. Now in hindsight I totally should’ve kicked that guy’s ass. But hindsight is 20/20, and until you’re in a situation like that you have absolutely no fucking clue how you will react. It’s why I laugh every time I hear people say they’d shoot a burglar in the head if they came into their home. Bullshit. It takes a lot of stones to pull the trigger knowing a human life is about to be eliminated as a result. Not everyone has that in them and you don’t know if it’s in you until you’re put to the test. Same thing with people who claim they would’ve told this shooter that they were Christian.
The people who did admit it yesterday probably didn’t realize that saying “I’m a Christian” was the wrong answer. They probably figured he was some crazy evangelist looking for heathens to scourge from the earth. It’s why he was on a college campus. That’s what I would’ve assumed. The second a guy with a gun walks in to your liberal professor’s lecture and asks who is a Christian, is the second I stand up and say, “Me, thanks for letting me live. Good luck atheists! I’d tell you to pray to God, but, ya know…..”
Last thing I’ll say is this – if this gunmen walked into a classroom, asked for Muslims or black people to stand up, and then killed them, this would be a MUUCCCHHH bigger deal. All we’d hear about is Islamaphobia and how Turtleboy Sports inspired crazy white people to kill people of color. I mean, that fucking clock kid became a poster child for Islamaphobia and he was an asshole who brought a make believe bomb into school. And for that he was rewarded with a trip to the White House. And when Dylan Roof killed those nine people in Charleston somehow TURTLE-fucking-BOY got blamed for it!!!
But go around hunting Christians and the first thing we hear about is gun control. Not that I’m even gonna comment on my thoughts on gun control (talking about gun control and abortion is a great way to divide your readership), but I’m just pointing out why people say “all lives matter.” Because the double standards with how situations like this are treated, and how situations like Charleston and clock boy are treated, show that clearly some lives are valued by politicians more than others.
P.S. Props to the media and the chief of police out there in Oregon for the way they’ve handled this. The fact that I don’t know the gunmen’s name, but I know everything about the HERO who took him down, shows me that we’re finally learning not to glorify these assholes and give them exactly what they wanted. Chris Mintz is a guy who was in a situation like this and did something, instead of just talking about how he would’ve done something later on.
