Anyone Who Thinks Patriots Trading Logan Mankins Was A Good Thing Is A Moron

So apparently the New England Patriots traded legendary guard Logan Mankins today to the Tampa Bay Bucs for another schmuck from Rutgers and a fourth round pick that we’ll end up trading for two sixth round picks. I’m sorry, but this is just dumb. How can anyone justify this? All day in the car I’ve listened to idiot after idiot call up and talk about the genius of Bill Belichick and how this is a good idea.

What the hell is wrong with you people? I’d say Patriots fandom is starting to develop Penn State-like tendencies. I’m not saying that Belichick is covering up a child molester on his staff. But I am saying that if he was, there would be thousands of morons calling up every radio show talking about how this was good for the Pats in the long term.

And I want what you’re smoking if you think that giving up the most dominant meatstick to don a Pats jersey in the last 10 years, during a year in which we’re supposedly “all in” is somehow a good move. Newsflash – when we brought Darrell Revis here we were letting the world know that we were blowing our Super Bowl load in 2014. Best team we’ve had since 07, and maybe better than them. I don’t give a shit if this helps us resign someone next year. This is the year and I want one of the best linemen in the NFL on my team THIS YEAR!!

Now all of a sudden they decide they wanna start nickel and diming? Oh yea, and I just suppose it’s a GIANT FUCKING COINCIDENCE that the Krafts just bought the rights to Jermaine Jones for the New England Revolution. Anyone who can’t put two and two together here is a nudnik of epic proportions. The Krafts think this team is good enough to win without Mankins. So they’re trying to save cash and get people to watch a crappy sport and their crappier team. I blame all Revolution “fans.” This is all your fault.

In the end the media around here is just gonna hang on “Mr. Kraft’s” nuts as usual. First of all, the fact that they call him “Mr. Kraft instead of Bob Kraft tells you all you need to know about them. They’re a bunch of house boys treating these billionaires like they’re some kind of royalty for saving a couple bucks. Does anyone call Belichick, “Mister?” Nope. So why does this idiot get all this respect? Because he has money and doesn’t like to spend it?

Last thing I’ll say is that I think Belichick may or may not be losing his marbles. He’s starting to develop borderline psychotic tendencies. Dude will go to the ends of the earth to prove a point. Usually that point is that he’s smarter than everyone else. But he’s constantly in these battles of wits with his best players over money and I just don’t understand it. My question is, will they ever do this to Brady? What happens if Garropolo looks like he can play for cheaper in 2016 but Brady’s still got it? If you don’t think they’ve got it in them to dump Brady to sign Christiano Ronaldo or Pisossa then you don’t understand how the Patriots function.

No you don’t. That is ridiculous, and you never did that once.

I totally have. And I’ll have to dig up the tape of the Howard Stern show from when he was coach of the Jets for two days (or maybe a little before), when Baba Booey explained that “When Parcells retires, he’s going to leave the franchise to Mr. Belichick.”

OK fine, I guess that’s possible… but I still want to hear it for myself. Maybe at the Turtleboy Sports dance party I can eavesdrop on a conversation you are having about Bill Belichick. By the way, when is the inaugural Turtleboy Sports Dance Party, with special guests Larry, Mrs. Turtleboy, former major leaguer Mark Grudzielanek, and the guy who played Cockroach on the Cosby Show?

I agree with this move. Mankins was great, especially against the run, but he looked like a matador in the AFC championship. Wright is another big target, I expect this to work out well.

Turtleboy you sound like a pinkhat. Did you not watch the 2013 NFL season? Mankins took a huge step backwards and often looked like a turnstile. He was horrendous in the AFC title game. Second highest pd guard that rated out as the 18th best at his position according to profootball focus. There was a reason why they drafted 3 OL this yr.
this is why I love the Patriots. They dont fall in love with the flashy name. You begin to slip and your ass is gone.
