Just when you thought social justice warriors couldn’t possibly outdo themselves…..
I've read a lot of insane things before, but this one from woke as fuck @xoxSai takes the cake. Hey wypipo – stop using that Michael Jackson popcorn GIF. It's racist and you're using "digital blackface." https://t.co/OO2ME3DgVe

Oh good, I was looking for something to get woke about today. Thank God I found it.
Turns out every time you’re in an online conversation and you find the perfect GIF to share that speaks a thousand words, like this
You are committing an unforgivable microaggression. You just don’t realize it yet because your privilege hasn’t been checked by the woke police.
Newsflash – this form of racism is called “Digital blackface” and it will no longer be tolerated by Scary Mommy blogger Sa’iyda Shabazz:
She is the face of modern day oppression, and she wants to let people know just how harmful their GIFs can be:
I know there will be a ton of white folks in the comments with their eye rolls (as always), but look, NOBODY is saying not to use GIFs. They’re fun, silly and make the Internet a brighter place when it can get pretty fucking bleak. But there are ways to be more aware, and culturally sensitive, of how we’re choosing to represent ourselves.
It’s true. The woke handbook clearly states that you should always ask yourself, “is this culturally sensitive” before posting a GIF on Facebook.
But wait, can black people share GIFs of white people or nah?
And before you say it, no, a black person using a GIF of a white person isn’t the same thing. We live in a world where white is the default, not the “other.” There is no such thing as reverse racism either, so don’t go there.
Of course. I totally forgot that only white people are capable of being racist. Please deduct five white privilege points for even asking that question.
She has some strong points:
It’s not really a surprise that something like digital blackface is something that needs to be addressed. White and non-black people have been co-opting black culture since pretty much forever, so it’s no surprise that digital blackface is something we have to discuss. Once elements of black culture become mainstream, we are pushed to the side, never acknowledged for our ideas or contributions. It’s frustrating as fuck, and there are plenty of big and small, subtle and direct, ways that white people can stop being complacent and furthering the perpetuation of stereotypes.
Oh spap!! Privilege checked!! If you are not part of the group that is “adversely affected” by a James Harden GIF, then you need to sit down and listen to what this one particular irrational black woman is telling you. Didn’t you get the memo? All black women think the same exact way. She speaks for all of them. And there’s nothing racist about a white woman from Alberta saying that.
Nothing at all.
Woke white women LOVE to lecture the unwoke about their lack of wokeness:
It’s true. If someone said it on the Internet you must consider it, no matter how absurd, dumb, and/or hilarious it is. Does this look like the face of someone who is as tone deaf as you?
No “MyLove” I do not have two minutes to spare on stupidity like this. I will never, ever, ever even humor the delusions of these mental midgets when they do the woke gymnastics. And the fact that you’re willing to blindly go along with idiocy like this simply because you’re petrified of being labeled as a “racist” tells me everything I need to know about you hun. That and the dog filter.
This woman was my favorite by far:
The only thing more SJW than a hyphenated last name is a hyphenated first name. But seriously, imagine getting to the point in life where you refuse to voice your opinion or do something because of the
“chance that doing the thing is racist, problematic, or in some way offensive to even a minority of the population.”I’d just give up on life. The day I let other people dictate what I can and cannot say simply because I’m white and they’re not is the day I settle down with a hefalump like this.
And many more…..
It’s just amazing how human beings can get like this. This is why Turtleboy is important – because people like this NEED to be mocked. They need their wokeness checked. Sure, it’s funny to laugh at them, but people like this often end up up getting their way because it’s easier to just give them what they want in order to shut them up.
Not Turtleboy though. We’re the only ones keeping it real and actually saying what everyone else is thinking. We take one for the team and let idiots like this call us racist because we’re immune to it at this point. They want to shut us up but it’s clearly not working and it never will.
