It’s not every day we write about sports here at Turteboy Sports, but tonight is a really, really important night for the Celtics. They have three first round draft picks including the third overall pick. Unfortunately it’s really a two player draft, and the players who seem most destined for NBA stardom (Brandon Ingram and Ben Simmons) will be gone by the time the Celtics pick. So they’re basically looking at five guys right now – Buddy Hield (Oklahoma), Jaylen Brown (California), Kris Dunn (Providence), Jamal Murray (Kentucky) and Dragen Bender (Croatia).
Turtleboy just wants to go on record to say that we fully endorse drafting Buddy Hield if they don’t trade the pick, which it appears they will not. In case you didn’t see in their first round debacle against the Hawks, this team lacks scorers. They have a great coach, and they play great defense.
That’s exactly why they don’t need Kris Dunn, who is basically another Marcus Smart.
Jaylen Brown is one of those guys who could be a superstar because he’s insanely talented, which almost always turns out to be a Gerald Green or a Kedrick Brown.
If you have the #3 overall pick in the draft you should never, ever take a guy named Dragan Bender. It defeats the purpose of having the #3 overall pick. All you need to know is that in his highlight tape the stands are empty and in the back of the backboard is a black wall. He’s basically playing at the YMCA.
All set.
Jamal Murray I’d take as a consolation prize, but Hield is more established and polished than the freshman. Buddy is the most prolific and proven scorer in the group. He was the best player in college this year. He averaged 25 points a game and led his team to the Final Four. He hit 85 of 100 three pointers in a workout with the Celtics. The Celtics have NO ONE that plays the game like him, and he fills an immediate need. Later on the in draft you can take a bigger guy like Brice Johnson, but at #3 you take the best immediate scorer, and that’s Buddy Hield. Bring him to Turtleboy.

Myself being a yuge basketball fan I can’t wait until you can buy tickets with an EBT card. I watch sports channels all day with my pud in my hand!
The Celtics drafted the following:
1 (3): Jaylen Brown, SF, California
1 (16): Guerschon Yabusele, PF, France
1 (23): Ante Zizic, C, Croatia
2 (45): Demetrius Jackson, PG, Notre Dame
2 (51): Ben Bentil, PF, Providence
2 (58): Abdel Nader, PF, Iowa State
Traded away: Nos. 31 and 35 to the Grizzlies
Traded for: 2019 Grizzlies first-round pick.
Bold moves but is any of this any good I ask? I’ve been watching sports channels all day and fans are not on board with these pics. And I have to agree with them. Danny I hope you know something we ( or I ) do not.
As a 10-year-old told me a few weeks ago, “no one even likes the Celtics anymore.” It would be nice if they made some choices that would bring them back to their glory days. I’d like to hope Danny is smart enough to figure out who to pick to make that happen….
2016 TSN POY (meaning Player of the Year for those inept) – Yup Hield would work for me. TSN POY; Big 12 POY; USBWA (U.S Basketball Writers Association) POY in 2016.
Danny has to be all over this. It would be criminal not to…
None of these nouveau riders even know what to say because they aren’t here for the sports. Excellent take TB, Hield for sure.
